The hotel is conveniently located just 9km from Robina Station and 27km from Gold Coast Airport. With multiple attractions nearby including Kids Playground Kurrawa, The Star Event Centre and Kurrawa Park, guests will find plenty to keep themselves occupied. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. This Broadbeach hotel offers parking on site. Guests tell us the location of this hotel is fantastic. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling with families.
"I stayed for 6 nights, and the price difference on weekends was quite significant; it's more cost-effective to book in advance.
The location is convenient, with a mall, supermarket, and beach nearby. There's also an outdoor playground for children at the beach. The kitchen and laundry room were useful. The hotel doesn't offer daily cleaning, but if you need towel changes or supplies, they'll deliver them to your room when you call.
Most of the staff were very friendly and enthusiastic, especially Iris and an Indian manager who were excellent! However, there was one blonde woman with a ponytail who stood out. The front desk staff rotate between guiding and greeting guests in the lobby. Every time we passed by, she pretended not to see us, and if she did, she wouldn't smile. Yet, she was exceptionally polite to other foreign guests. This was consistent over several days and quite obvious!"

"The room was quite spacious, but the facilities were a bit underwhelming. For example, the balcony door lock was broken on the first day, and though it was fixed, I later discovered the hot water in the sink wasn't working. These issues should really be checked before guests check in. Luckily, everything was eventually repaired. My stay wasn't the best, but the Nepalese lady at the front desk who helped resolve the problems was excellent – thumbs up to her!
Breakfast was a partnership with Harvest Buffet inside The Star, costing $30 for one adult and one child, which I thought was a reasonable price."

"I visited The Star Grand with high expectations, but I left feeling deeply disappointed. From the moment I arrived at reception, I felt an unwelcoming atmosphere that felt like subtle discrimination. As a guest, I expected professional and equal treatment, but the staff’s attitude was far from it.
The room was very basic—no Netflix, average amenities, and nothing 'grand' about it. Breakfast was also very limited. I expected a luxury experience but got something very mediocre instead. I do not recommend this place for the price."

"Although it is a bit far from Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach Mart and cafes and food and beverage stores are convenient. There's a yogurt ice cream place on the first floor, which isn't bad, and there's a Starbucks.
There is a playground about 200 meters away that is great for children.
Since there were no curtains, I had to wake up at 6 o'clock... There is a construction site right next to it, so it is noisy. It's noisy at night because there are clubs nearby. It wasn't bad for a few days.
The swimming pool was also great for kids to play in."

Avani Residences works particularly well if you want a proper apartment rather than a standard hotel room. The residence-style layout makes it far more liveable, especially for stays longer than a night or two.
The apartment had good internal space, a usable balcony, and modern fittings throughout. A real highlight was having full laundry facilities – washing machine and dryer – which made it easy to deal with wet swimwear and beach towels. The fully equipped kitchen, including a breakfast bench, was practical and well set up rather than decorative.
Location-wise, it’s excellent. The building sits opposite the new casino precinct developments, diagonally across from Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, and only a short walk to the tram stop, making it easy to get around without a car. Broadbeach itself feels more relaxed than Surfers Paradise, and the beach here is currently in better condition, with Surfers losing a fair bit of sand after Cyclone Albert.
The complex itself is modern and well maintained, with a pool, small gym, and a clubhouse-style bar/restaurant. It’s also close to other new developments in Broadbeach, so the area feels fresh and active without being chaotic.
Overall, a strong choice if you value space, self-sufficiency, and location, and prefer an apartment-style stay over a traditional hotel experience.

The hotel is wide, there is a terrace, the scenery is beautiful, but the lighting is relatively dim, you can consider adding some lights, especially the kitchen location is convenient for cooking, other facilities are very good!

It was blocked by a construction building by the sea, sad 💔. You can also see some sea views, the overall convenience, and you can walk to the beach in a few minutes. There are three rooms, the whole is relatively quiet, there are 2 households on the first floor, that is, the front desk sister arrives at work, and you have to communicate in advance if you need it.
There is a pool gym sauna, and the back door is closer to the beach.
The Gold Coast is really beautiful ❤️

Guest UserThere was a cockroach in the room! Our stay started off fairly well, but everything changed that evening when I spotted a small cockroach crawling across the desk. I immediately trapped it with my son’s face mask and crushed it with all my strength. After that, I couldn’t stop worrying that there might be more hiding somewhere in the room, so we closed up all of our suitcases to avoid any unwanted surprises.
When I checked out the next morning, I showed the photo to the receptionist. She simply went, “Oh…” in surprise, and that was it. There was no apology, no explanation, and no attempt to address the issue. I didn’t ask for any compensation—I just checked out and left.
Finding a cockroach is unpleasant enough, but the complete lack of response from the hotel was even more disappointing.

Our experience was good. The apartments are well organised and no lengthy check-in process like other places. A bit surprised after paying the amount due weeks before and then being requested for another $500 prior to checking in otherwise the booking can't be guaranteed. Most people take American Express in the accommodation industry and this was also a surprise. Apart from that it was a very pleasant state and we will book it again if we get a good deal.

We enjoyed our stay at the Aria apartment.
It's in a Great Location with a great view; however, the noise of the large bins being collected in the street each morning at 6:30 a.m did spoil our sleep-ins.
The most disappointing factor was the smell of the bathroom towels. I suggest a note to the company about laundering the towels.

Guest UserVery handy location within walking distance to restaurants, beach and entertainment and secure onsite parking. Basic amenities, dated and tired. For price I had expected more. Simple things like matching crockery and newer furniture void of marks etc would really enhance the overall experience. Also, microwave had been damaged/burnt so stunk out room and we were wary to use.

The actual place once we got settled was pretty good. The only issue that we really had was that the kitchenette was not clean enough. There were little tiny bug/ants that came out onto the counters every morning, or whenever we’d leave the counter unattended for a while. The utensils in the kitchen weren’t cleaned properly and we had to use boiling water to clean everything before using them.
When we arrived we had to wait for the room to be finished, which we didn’t mind at all it was only a 10 min wait, but they had sprayed this air refresher so much that when we went inside we couldn’t get the smell out for an hour or two even w the balcony door open and the fans running.
Other than that the bed, air conditioning, TV and rest of the amenities were good. The location was just perfect and super close to the beach. And the staff were very friendly.
