"Our stay started pleasantly with a polite welcome at the entrance! It was fun to be able to choose our favorite kimono design! In-room dining was not available as advance notice was required, but the dinner venue was very clean and modern. There were some older game consoles installed, and we were able to play on them, something we hadn't seen in a while. We stayed in a Japanese-style room with an ocean view, and the sunsets and sunrises were beautiful. Best of all, we could hear the sound of the ocean all the time, which was very relaxing. The most impressive thing about this inn was the food. The sashimi was delicious, and the selection was plentiful, so we were very satisfied! The morning buffet offered both Japanese and Western dishes, and the desserts were delicious! The beach was right next to the inn, so we enjoyed ourselves even when we were tired! The staff were also very polite, and it was an inn that we truly wanted to stay at again!"

They booked a double room and a triple room. Obviously, the price of a triple room was twice and a half of the double room, that is, we had paid enough for two people and three people. We participated in the hotel's free fishing activities as soon as we arrived. But the hotel provided two fish rods per room, even if it was dusk and many guests left and there were many remaining fish rods, and the staff theory was not working. Five of us had no choice but to use four poles, came and passed, chicken hands, duck feet, a fish could not be caught, these staff gathered around to chat, the whole process did not help, these service attitude is really rare in Japan. Originally, this fishing activity was the main reason for choosing this hotel, but it felt a very disappointing experience. 😔"

I asked how much the buffet as I was hungry upon checked in and saw they have food behind the counter. When I was going to find a seat outdoor with sea view, I was chased away by her without even given a menu or a chance to sit down. So rude!! I’m not there for free food or free seat!! I’m paying ok. The room at 2nd floor is blocked by the roof of the restaurant, waste my money for this stay."

"I had an amazing stay at Hanagoyomi Hotel! The highlight was definitely the food—both breakfast and dinner were delicious, made with fresh, seasonal local ingredients that really showcased the area’s flavors. The environment is stunning too; soaking in the hot springs while facing the sea was pure bliss. The staff were incredibly thoughtful and attentive, and communicating in English was never an issue—they made everything so smooth and welcoming. Highly recommend this place."

"I'd only ever experienced traditional Japanese-style hot spring inns before, but I really liked the Western-style atmosphere. I was especially satisfied with dinner. The hotel's hot spring was good, but the hot springs at the nearby inns that are part of the Awaji Group were even better. If you're staying at Shimahana, I think you should definitely try the hot springs at the other inns as well. The staff's service was polite, but it was typical hotel service, different from a traditional hot spring inn (though I suppose that's a matter of personal preference). It was cloudy during my stay, so I couldn't see the sunrise, but I imagine it would have been amazing if I had."
