The Suhaku is one of the newest hotels in Suwa, having been renovated in 2025. With Kami-Suwa Station just 600m away and Shinshu-Matsumoto Airport only 21km away, transportation is very convenient. Famous local attractions Suwako Hanabi, Epson Museum Suwa and やわらぎ像, can all be reached with a short walk. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. For those driving themselves, parking is provided on site. According to our guests, this hotel provides a very high level of service.
"This was the hotel I enjoyed most during my trip to Japan (the other two were also very good). It's a newly renovated hot spring hotel right on the shores of Lake Suwa.
Facilities: The hotel offers a one-night stay with two meals, with breakfast and dinner included in the room rate. There's an indoor onsen on the 6th floor and another terrace onsen with a lake view. They have red and white baths, hence the name ”Red and White.” The restaurant is on the 2nd floor, where we serve breakfast and dinner. The first floor is also spacious and clean, with a welcome glass of sparkling water.
Cleanliness: Every room was spotless, especially the onsen area.
Ambience: Because it's located on the lake, most rooms offer a lake view. Our room was the smallest in the hotel, but it was spacious enough for two people (it could sleep up to four). The lake view is a bit off-center, but you can still see a bit. Just across the street from the hotel is the lake, and hotel guests can take a free boat ride. The boats are rarely crowded, and the scenery is truly beautiful. In August, in addition to the famous Lake Suwa Fireworks Festival, there's also a 10-minute fireworks display every evening, visible from the lakeside.
Service: The service was excellent. Mr. Lee (or Li), a Chinese-speaking staff member in the restaurant on the second floor, was truly wonderful. His detailed explanation of the dinner provided a deeper understanding of the ingredients and cooking methods for each dish. After dinner, we headed up the mountain to watch the sunset (the setting for Lake Itomori in ”Your Name”), and since it wasn't easy to get a taxi down, the hotel provided flashlights for us. They also helped us get a taxi the next morning. Overall, this is a hot spring hotel with excellent service.

"The room I booked was a regular tatami room, but the lake view was great. The hotel service was really considerate and thoughtful. I arrived early and was told during check-in that there was a free bus tour of the four major shrines of Suwa, including a driver's explanation throughout the trip. Due to my poor Japanese, I only understood the general idea and didn't understand any of the details. The four shrines of Suwa Taisha were originally quite scattered, but now it's easy to take them all. The breakfast was made with local specialties and was very healthy."

"My first time in Suwa,Nagano hav a great stay in this hotel. The staff were helpful, the room is clean with a super comfortable and soft bed which let me have a good rest. But the location is quite far for the convenience stores, so the hotel provide some of the vending machine at the lobby(drinks and food etc). However, this hotel is recommended for budget travelers and solo travelers like me. Recommended⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"This ryokan (traditional Japanese inn) exudes a wonderful Showa-era charm and is a quintessential Japanese onsen experience. From the moment we pulled into the parking lot, someone was there to greet us and help with our luggage, escorting it all the way to our room. The staff explained everything about the inn in great detail. I absolutely loved the ambiance! We had dinner reservations for 7:30 PM in a private dining room. The proprietress even came in to greet us and ask how we liked the beef in our sukiyaki. My Japanese isn't great, so I didn't understand everything, but she was incredibly warm and welcoming ❤️🔥. The lady who checked us in was also super friendly. If you're planning a pilgrimage to Tateishi Park from 'Your Name,' this ryokan is an absolute must-stay!"

"Location is great, it is just on the main road and by the lake. I remember there was a Lawon convenient store not far away when we drove past. We stayed there for 1 night.
I highly doubt if we were given the wrong room type, as I booked a room that can see the full Suwa Lake, but the room we have got is at the corner. It is because of the cherry blossom season, there are so many mosquitos outside so we couldn't open any window. According to the information provided by the hotel, the mosquitos don't bite human, but create stains on clothings.
Anyway, the room has a private onsen. It was quite small, and look a bit old. The water is very hot, though I couldn't smell any sulfur so it is not a real hot spring. As the windows can't be opened, so it is a quite stuffy inside the bathroom. The room has equipped with all amenities, but no bottled water. The hotel mentioned the water is drinkable from the tab. The room is quite clean and spacious. The mattress is quite nice, it was good for taking a rest after a whole day trip. We chose the meal package (breakfast and dinner). They were both Japanese style with a lot of dishes and options. Food is great. Nagano is not a place that produces meat, so mainly there are a lot of vegetables.
With the price we paid for, the hotel services, food and everything is quite reasonable. However, the hotel is a bit old. Nothing is special other than providing a clean room to sleep."

"It rained the day I arrived, and I didn't have the energy to do any more sightseeing. I arrived an hour and a half early. I was originally supposed to check in at 3 PM, but the owner saw me working hard in the lobby doing my judicial scrivener practice questions, so he let me check in an hour early. The desk and chair in the room were perfect for reading."

It's a Route Inn chain hotel, and has most of the basic amenities expected of a three-star hotel. Cleanliness and common facilities are adequate. Because it's a small town and the off-season, it's very quiet. A notable feature is its own free onsen (hot spring) public bath. The room was booked late, and the 350 yen room rate including a buffet breakfast was reasonable.
Negative aspects: The hotel seems to have been operating for a long time and is somewhat outdated. Because it's a small town, there are no restaurants near the hotel; you need to go to the train station area to eat."

Extremely satisfying hotel.
In the area of Shanghai, this hot spring hotel is considered one of the highest.
First of all, the environment of the independent small courtyard is very elegant, and all 8 rooms are facing the beautiful lake view, especially the beautiful scenery under the sunset, which is really pleasing to the eye.
Secondly, the room is not only large, but also has a separate hot spring pool. Everything in the room is fine, and it is no problem to come here empty-handed. Toiletries, razors, various skin care and hair products, all have. You can also go to the mixed bath hot springs on the top floor of the 6th floor. The idea here is very chic, when entering the hot spring, men and women must wear a special clothes, similar to swimsuits.
Again, each room has a separate dining room, and walk past it for three seconds.
Then there is a local bar on the ground floor that offers locally produced sake.
Finally, walking across the small road is to visit the lake, and you can walk to the station in 8 minutes, which is really convenient. There are many restaurants around, no need to worry.

Yanjingxiong8996Service: Very attentive. Although the front desk staff didn't speak Chinese or English, we managed to communicate well with the help of a translator.
Food & Beverage: Dinner and breakfast were included in the room rate. Dinner was tasty and substantial. Breakfast, however, was quite standard and not really to Chinese tastes.
Environment: The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the station and a 30-minute walk from Tateishi Park. We were also lucky enough to catch a fireworks festival on the day we checked in!

Guest UserThe hotel is about a 15-minute walk from JR Suwa Station. There is a shuttle bus service at certain times. The hotel faces Lake Suwa. I booked a Japanese-style lake view room, and the view from the window was very nice. Room service staff will make the bed in the room. You can tell the front desk the specific time. The hotel has two buildings. You need to go to the other building for breakfast, which is just average. The hotel's hot spring is nice. There are various types of hot springs and pools, including an open-air hot spring. The men's and women's pools are switched every other day.

非常好，值得入住！請攜程管家預約的上諏訪站的接站，工作人員開着阿爾法來接站了，特別幸運的是工作人員會中文，從接站那一刻優質周到細緻的服務就開始了，我是看日本旅遊博主住這個酒店訂的，入住到房間後會有歡迎甜點，房間全部面湖，對工作人員説想參觀旁邊的迎賓館和菊之間立即就安排了，又給了千人風呂的門票，旁邊就是小美術館和片倉館，片倉館外面洋式裏面和式，買門票參觀，千人風呂是對外營業的大温泉浴場，外立面華麗的洋式建築1928年建成，為大眾提供温泉服務，千人風呂當年很壯觀現在看起來並不大，對外800多日元一個人，中午二樓有食堂提供簡餐。過馬路就是諏訪湖，有觀光船。訂的一泊二食，晚餐西式，非常好，餐比我之前住的羅萊夏朵扉温泉明神館的強太多太多了，品質優良口味很好非常用心的一餐。每間房都有湖景風呂，有簾可調節，外面看不到的，温泉二十四小時流動，水質好，方便多次浸泡温泉，泡完很舒服。早餐有日式和西式，我選的西式非常棒，吃完元氣滿滿的一天。温店的缺點是在路邊，晚上有噪音，白天不吵，窗簾不遮光，室內拖鞋最好再放一雙新的棉質拖鞋，但優質完美的接待完全可以彌補，十一點退房後有房間號牌燙上名字贈送，讓人很驚喜然後又送去車站，並耐心周到地幫我存了行李，諏訪神社有四個交通不便我逛了車站對面超市一對比盒馬簡直就是垃圾，質次價高二樓有松本清，但不免税。在這個酒店每次無意提到的細節都會被照顧到，我這次住了十幾個酒店，有老字號輕井澤萬平、赤倉觀光酒店、有新崛起的fufu品牌輕井澤靜養之森，相比這裏的服務都是最優秀的，扉温泉明神館差評，餐食非常差。

Guest UserIt was completely unexpected to be able to book this old-fashioned Japanese hotel on Ctrip. April is the off-season for tourism in Suwa City, so the price was very cost-effective.
There is relatively little public transportation in Suwa City. After arriving at JR Kamisuwa Station at night, it takes 20 minutes to walk to the hotel. The sign at the door ”Little Hot Spring Hotel by the Lake” makes people laugh. The hotel is run by an old couple in their fifties and sixties, and the reception is very attentive. The room was as expected neat and clean, and the mottled marks on the furniture matched the overall style of the hotel. Moreover, there was no smell that I thought there would be when sleeping on tatami mats in a humid environment by the lake. There are preparation instructions in the room. Although they are not in Chinese, the content is relatively concise and can be understood. There is a restaurant on the first floor, and next door is a small hot spring with clear water and a suitable temperature.
It was unexpected that the convenience store 5 minutes' walk from the hotel closed at 17:00 in the afternoon. The 24-hour convenience store required about 15 minutes' walk. None of the nearby restaurants offer breakfast, so it is best to experience the classic Japanese breakfast at the hotel. Dinner is also available here.
The lake view room faces Suwa Lake, which brings you a smooth and panoramic view of Suwa Lake. At the same time, the noise of cars on the lakeside road at night will cause some discomfort. Consider this when choosing a room type.
Surroundings: There are several restaurants next to the hotel open for lunch. There is a comprehensive hotel called Katakurakan about a 10-minute walk away where you can rent electric bicycles. It is a good choice to cycle around Lake Suwa and the city.

Guest UserI stayed one night on the weekend. There was free coffee in the lobby, and amenities were in the room, but you had to bring them along with your towel to the public bath. There were additional amenities in the lobby for guests staying multiple nights. The parking lot was large and the room was clean. The women's public bath was a little small, but I didn't encounter any other guests, so it wasn't a problem at all. The men's room seemed to be much larger than the women's. The breakfast buffet didn't have a huge variety, but it was tasty and had a good selection. There was no fruit when I went, so it would have been nice if there was. Overall, I had no problems and was very satisfied. Thank you for your hospitality.
