Hotel near Ao Phai,Koh Samet
The Tubtim Resort provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. The Tubtim Resort is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Koh Samet. There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the Mermaid (and the child) Monument, Ao PA Cha and Ao Phutsa all nearby. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. If you are looking for a convenient place to stay, our guests have told us that this location is excellent.

"This hotel is clearly not a 4 star level. I would rate it a 2 star or 3 star max. The two good points about this hotel are its direct access to the beach and the delicious food at reasonable prices. Several negative points include the hotel being very old, old fashioned rooms, and zero hospitality services from all the staffs. There is no 24 hr. reception. If there is any emergency, you are all on your own. No one would pick up the mobile phone as well. You will never get a greeting anytime of the day starting from the reception, to house keeping staff or restaurant staffs. It clearly shows that they all have been untrained. I would recommend that you book this hotel only if you are looking for a budget, no frills hotel. If I visit Koh Samed again, I would book the 4 star hotel next door in an instant, the Samed Tamarind Resort."

Hotel near Sai Kaew Beach,Koh Samet
Renovated in 2024, the Sai Kaew Beach Resort is a great choice for accommodation in Koh Samet. The nearby area boasts an abundance of attractions including Ao PA Cha, Ao Chor and Ao Hin Khok. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. If you are looking for a convenient place to stay, our guests have told us that this location is excellent. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling with families.

"Traveling with kids and elderly parents, we booked two rooms for two nights. At the time of booking, only deluxe rooms were available, and the price wasn't great. The rooms were arranged in a row of three, quite far inside, and a bit small with poor soundproofing, but they were clean. The hotel has its own pier, and the ferry to and from the island is free. Our luggage went directly to the island's front desk, which was very convenient. We were charged a 200 Thai Baht per person island fee at check-in, but it was refunded at check-out, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff, both at the pier and the hotel, were very friendly and helpful. The hotel breakfast was also plentiful. Next time we visit Koh Samet, we'll definitely book a deluxe cottage closer to the beach."

"This is a good low budget option to experience island life, but not that low budget £60 per night ( January 2026) We are very familiar with island life in Thailand and appreciate that some things just don’t work as well. The location of Malibu Samed Resort is gorgeous, it’s more or less situated on the beach of the small quaint Wong Duean Bay. There are several beach restaurants available, the vibe is chilled, without the drinking or ******** culture. It’s lovely. Our welcome was warm, the staff were great and happy to help with our luggage. Our room is small 16 m² with 2 single beds, some hanging and storage space. It has a rustic feel to it. There is a fridge which is always welcome, tea and coffee making facilities, which we always appreciate, as well as a safety deposit box & flat screen TV. The bed and pillow are comfortable but not sumptuous. Towels are provided and I would say are of typical island quality. However the shower was an issue, obviously water is limited on the island and taking a hot shower was challenging but actually having a good supply of water either in the evening or morning was very hit and miss. Missed more often, it gets frustrating when you can’t have an adequate shower, that’s one of the reasons we move about frequently. Breakfast is of limited quality but there are a variety of options including cereal, hot food both western & Thai. Toast cereal and tea & coffee. The pool area was hardly used during our stay so a nice quiet retreat from the beach was available."

The Samed Tropical Resort is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. Visitors to Koh Samet will find that the Samed Tropical Resort is a fantastic accommodation choice. This hotel is located near many of Koh Samet's attractions including Koh Samet Beach, Ao Phutsa and Sai Kaew Beach. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.

"The facilities are great. I stayed here once for New Year's Day and came back for a few more days. The hotel has its own beach, and in the evenings, they offer open-air movies and fire dance performances. They thoughtfully provide both deep and shallow swimming areas, so kids can play safely. The pier is also a unique feature. It's a bit disappointing though that when I came for New Year's, the room included a welcome scarf, and the mini-bar had free snacks and drinks. This time, the room price was significantly higher, and those little extras were gone. However, the overall experience is still excellent, making it perfect for a vacation. P.S. First thing to do when you get to the island: rent a scooter!"

The Baan Ploy Sea was recently renovated in 2024, making it a fantastic choice for those staying in Koh Samet. With multiple attractions nearby including Prao Beach, Ao PA Cha and Koh Samet Nature Trail End, guests will find plenty to keep themselves occupied. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. According to our guests, this hotel provides a very high level of service. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.

"Overall, I'm very satisfied! After arriving by bus, we walked about 600m to the pier reception, then took a slow boat to the hotel's pier. Baan is the closest of the four hotels to the pier (as shown in the last picture), which was a huge relief! It's just a 1-minute walk, saving us the hassle of getting a tuk-tuk. The hotel isn't luxurious, but it's quiet and elegant. I especially loved the tree by the beach. Being close to Christmas, the evenings here left a wonderful impression on me! The room was quite spacious, with an IKEA-esque style. There's an outdoor balcony, perfect for reading in the morning. Outside the room, there's a chocolate drink shop where you can grab a drink to enjoy on the beach. To the north, it's less crowded and beautifully scenic – I really love it here! Breakfast was also quite extensive, with several dishes you could select individually. The staff's attitude was much better than in many places in Bangkok. I'm especially grateful that on my first day, I forgot my DJI drone, and the front desk staff kept it safe for me until I returned. Thank you! Oh, and there's a small restaurant run by an old man to the north that's absolutely delicious! Try the Tom Yum Goong and Mama noodles! My husband and I, along with the Swedish couple at the next table, completely cleaned our plates. Highly recommend: ร้านเจ้กิวลุงเตี้ย"

"What a pleasant surprise! The hotel I originally wanted was fully booked, so I ended up here. A quick Songthaew ride from the pier got me there. It's a bit far from the main hub, but the room is right by the sea, beautiful, clean, and peaceful. The room itself is also spacious and spotless, everything was great. The kids absolutely loved the hotel, and the staff were incredibly warm and friendly. Highly recommend! Oh, and there are street vendors by the sea selling pancakes, salads, and grilled chicken wings. The pancake guy can sometimes be a bit impatient, but the lady selling salads and grilled chicken wings is super friendly, and her food is delicious – I even saw hotel staff buying from her. The kids enjoyed the grilled chicken wings too, and thankfully, no upset stomachs!"

"The hotel is average; there are better ones on the island (I have something to compare it to). The rooms are in need of renovation: peeling corners, mold... It's okay for 1-2 nights. But it has two good pools. Breakfast isn't bad; you won't go hungry."

"If you are picky, need private beach and a big swimming pool - this hotel is not for you. It is a nice small hotel, with small pool, great breakfast. There are rooms that can fit 4 people. It’s a 20 second walk to the beach, you can rent a beach chair or lay on the towel. "Everything is what you would expect from a resort. I stayed in a chalet which was nice. The chalets could do with a bit of tlc. There is a step form the bedroom area to the bathroom that could do with a yellow strip or something so you see it. Breakfast buffet is what you expect, had some food one evening while watching the fire show, the food was excellent. Not ideal for early sleepers as music is on until midnight, but I had a Seaview chalet so the ones further back might not be affected. All in all a solid 7/10"

GGuest UserThe taxi from the pier cost 250 baht. The beach right in front of the hotel is fantastic, and the male attendant who manages the towels was really good – he's the reason I gave the last 100 baht as a tip. His enthusiasm also led us to book a night squid fishing trip for 9 people. However, all the staff here seem to have two different attitudes: one for Western guests and another for Chinese guests. While everyone else managed basic politeness, the female server in the restaurant (pictured in photo 2) was incredibly rude to us. This is my fifth time vacationing in Thailand, and I've also traveled to the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Mauritius, the Maldives, and Hamilton Island, but this is honestly the first time I've encountered a staff member so rude. She pointed her finger at me and loudly demanded that I push the water bottle from the middle of the table to against the wall. I was completely stunned. Upon check-in, they asked for 500 baht per night for an extra bed for our 6-year-old. Since the three of us could comfortably share the king-sized bed, we declined and only paid for the child's breakfast, which was 200 baht per day. One evening, we also encountered teenagers on the beach who were indiscriminately bullying kids playing there. I never even saw something like this in Australia, yet it happened on Koh Samet. Thankfully, my English speaking skills are decent, and after a big argument, he ended up yelling that he was going to call the police. Overall, I still wouldn't recommend booking a hotel here. The pricing attracts a certain type of clientele, and since there are many very cheap hotels nearby, the beach attracts all sorts of tourists.

TT- springerThe room's cleanliness was decent, and the environment was quite good. The beachfront massage was nice. Breakfast was very average. We had lunch and dinner at the hotel, and both were pretty good. There was a young guy who served us for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and he never smiled, which honestly dampened the vacation mood a bit. The ladies at the front desk, however, provided great service. Koh Samet is a hidden gem with jelly-like clear waters, definitely worth a visit.

GGuest UserThe hotel is quite new and located on the northernmost tip of Koh Samed. Pros: New facilities, pleasant environment, good service. When I stepped on a sea urchin, the front desk staff helped me out immediately. The hotel has two swimming pools and isn't too crowded. Cons: WiFi signal is poor. The shower water temperature control is an issue – it's either scorching hot or ice cold, with no in-between. The beach near the hotel has many sea urchins underwater and rough sand, making it less suitable for snorkeling than other beaches. There's a place called Smile Samed right next to the hotel where you can rent motorbikes and paddleboards. Their food portions are generous and affordable, offering good value for money.

QQuenxWe stayed from April 15-17 in a family room on the first floor. There were three of us, and I can't imagine how four people could fit in there—the room is tiny. There's one armchair right outside the room, and that area is also very cramped, with people constantly walking by. There's no restaurant, only drinks available. The sun loungers are quickly packed away in the evening. There's a lot of hustle and bustle nearby; if you're looking for relaxation, this isn't the place for you. Honestly, for this price, you can find a much better hotel on this island. The hotel is definitely in need of renovation. The staff, however, were lovely ❤️

NNipoditangxianzuStayed for 2 nights and 3 days. You can snorkel directly in front of the hotel, and there are more fish near the coral reefs, but I wouldn't recommend going there if the waves are big. It's best to wear long pants and diving socks to avoid scratches. The sand right outside is very fine and soft. Breakfast is served by the sea with ocean views. The bar street can get a bit noisy at night, so it might not be suitable for light sleepers, but since we usually go to bed late, it didn't bother us. A major plus is that the bedsheets are changed for every new guest. The room has many windows, making it bright and airy. The only downsides are that the shower only has a handheld showerhead and the water pressure is a bit low. For shopping, try to go to the 7-Eleven on the main street, as the supermarket here is about a third more expensive. Overall, it offers great value for money and is perfect for a relaxing holiday.

GGuest UserI had an amazing stay at Kira Baya on Koh Samet and would definitely recommend it overall. Ace and the rest of the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The rooms were exceptionally clean, very well maintained, and we felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. Both breakfast and dinner were enjoyable, with good variety and quality. We also really appreciated having access to the kayak, which added a fun touch to the experience. One thing to note, as others have mentioned, is that the beach in front of the property is quite stoney and could benefit from some cleaning. Additionally, the hotel is located at the far end of the island, so getting around requires some planning. There is a shuttle service available, but it is not included in the stay and not directly provided by the hotel, which is something other hotels tend to handle better. That said, I was able to rent a scooter for 100 THB per hour, which gave me a great opportunity to explore the island independently. Overall, despite a few minor inconveniences, this was a fantastic stay with excellent service, and I would happily return

PPaul from LondonThis hotel is located at the quiet end of the beach Very clean room and maids very sweet and friendly The grounds are clean and well looked after Breakfast on the beach side restaurant with friendly staff Good choice for breakfast The only problem I have with this hotel when you are paying nearly 3500 THB a night is not enough beach furniture When see people not guest at the hotel coming early and reserving their chairs and umbrella by put down a towel and moving furniture around then going away for a few hours coming back with friends There is one umbrella and 3 chairs per set Most people are in couples so only need 2 chairs If have children staff should provide a mat under the umbrella Staff shouldn't let guests move furniture around This way more guests at hotel can get a space on the beach We had breakfast at 7.30am and by 8am we had too rush too get our space on the beach before all gone A nice hotel and nice clean beach Just stop non guests using furniture and moving around When you are paying good money too stay here You want a spot on the beach The other option is too sit in restaurant all day If we come back too Koh Samet this hotel would be a back up option Over all nice stay 👍

GGuest UserAt first they could not find the reservation. The room was good, old but wel kept and clean. Aircon worked well but the shower had no pressure. When we mentioned this at reception it was fixed within hours. The gardens were cut but the gardener left all cuttings whete they were so we cleaned our own path. The coffee and teacans were so dirty we did not even toych them, but thete was a coffeemachine that worked slowly as well. Bad coffee though🙃. Very good yoghurt, fresh baked/fried eggs and a choice of asian food. Only melon for fruit and juice was the usual sugarwater. Chairs with parasols and good matrasses on a great part of the beach, and although it was never clean of leaves, there were some guys shoving some leaves around every morning. This place has a lot going for it, but, like the rest of Samed, it lacks enthusiasm and selfrespect. High prices are okay, but only if the standard is a bit higher. There is trash EVERYWHEREon Samet, and I mean stinky big piles of black bags, matrasses and plastic bottles. Behind one beach where we walked to, it smelled as there was a corpse lying around. That was not at our beach luckily, but Samed is small and I think things can be ran a lot better with the amount of money coming in.

GGuest UserThis hotel gave me a very mixed impression. It's located right on the beach, and the only access is from the beach itself. You'll have to carry your luggage across the sand (though the hotel does have porters if you ask at the front desk). We didn't know this when we checked in, as this detail wasn't in the hotel description. We arrived in the evening and had to drag a huge suitcase 15 meters across the sandy beach in sneakers, dodging people dining at tables. Our room was booked for the 1st floor (booking photo attached), but we were assigned a corner room on the 3rd floor. We spent the next three days trying to sort it out with the hotel. They admitted their mistake and promised to move us, but never did, even though 1st-floor rooms were available during our stay. In room 31B, the Wi-Fi signal was completely non-existent. I had to go out onto the balcony every time and stretch my arm with my phone towards the pool. The internet on the beach also worked poorly. The Wi-Fi was only good by the pool. The TV in our room also didn't work. However, this was probably one of the few rooms in the hotel where you didn't need to draw the curtains, as the balcony view was of a wall (most rooms have glass windows and face each other). The hotel has a restaurant with some tables right on the beach; the menu is quite extensive, and the prices aren't inflated. The beach is nice, and the sea is magnificent. Breakfasts were good, with a wide selection, and the room was cleaned daily, with water provided. There's a pier about 15 meters from the hotel, and you can arrive and depart directly from there (300 baht per person). Near the hotel, there's a small shop, several restaurants along the beach, and bike rentals available. The reception can also call a tuk-tuk for you. On weekends, the reception and restaurant were open until 11 PM, and on weekdays until 9-10 PM.

GGuest UserThe location is convenient, just a few meters from the sea, and close to the lively areas too. The hotel itself is in a relatively quiet spot, and I say 'relatively quiet' because it's surrounded by lush vegetation. Many birds start their dawn chorus early in the morning, which is actually lovely – waking up to the sounds of different birds is quite nice. The hotel is a bit old, and the rooms aren't large, but they do clean upon request. The rooms have everything you need for a short stay. We really enjoyed it, though our noisy neighbors who were playing loud music and singing spoiled it a little. However, the hotel staff quickly quieted them down by asking them to keep it down.
