Hampton Inn Louisville East/Hurstbourne

Louisville|1.42km from Forum Center
I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn Louisville East/Hurstbourne on a Saturday night. This was my first stop on my weeklong Spring Break trip to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail! I wanted to stop off in Louisville to see a friend of mine on the way to the Bardstown area. I didn't end up arriving until about 8:00PM on Saturday evening due to the time-zone change and getting off to a later start due to a snowstorm in Wisconsin that morning. I did not realize that this Hampton Inn is connected to a Home2 Suites, so both hotels shared amenities like the pool, breakfast, etc. It was very busy here on the night I stayed. The hotel looked very nice on the outside, but my room seemed a bit run-down. I had a standard room with king bed on the 4th (top) floor, and it almost seemed like there had been water damage in the bathroom in spots. The hallways had a strange smell almost like a hospital when I stayed, and they seemed very plain. Some of the staff members I encountered did not seem the most pleasant. When I asked at the front desk if we were in the Eastern Time Zone, just to make sure, I got a short/curt response that we were, and I should know that! I did not use the pool because I was too tired, and it always seemed very busy. The breakfast on Sunday morning was just OK--it seemed kind of messy down there like they couldn't keep up with other guests making messes or just leaving dirty plates and bowls sitting there. Overall, though, I did enjoy my stay, and the room was mostly clean and comfortable like I expect from the Hampton chain. I did sleep well, and I found the room to be quiet, especially with being far to one side of the 4th floor and facing away from the busy road/highway outside. I would return and recommend, but I would also be open to seeing what else was available in Louisville on my next visit.
