Chalon International Hotel

The hotel boasts a beautiful environment and is spotlessly clean. The service is warm and attentive, and its location right at the entrance of the scenic area makes it incredibly convenient. The hotel restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, all at reasonable prices and delicious. It's definitely a great place for family and friends to gather.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Nanhu Scenic Area. It's just a few minutes' walk across the railway tracks to Wuxiang Temple. The room itself was quite spacious (so much so that voices echoed a bit, meaning the soundproofing wasn't the best), but the TV was surprisingly small. I stayed in Building 1 this time, and the view of Haogu Pagoda from the window was lovely. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the toilet was a smart bidet. Breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but all the essentials were there. My only minor complaint would be about the front desk staff's service – when checking out in the morning, I asked about parking and was told that once scanned, we could leave and re-enter all day. However, when we returned in the afternoon from the scenic area to pick up the car, we were charged. We had to go back to the front desk to rescan (it turns out the scan only grants exit within 30 minutes).

The hotel's location is excellent. We could walk to South Lake and it was also very close to Zicheng Park in the city center. Plus, Xiexijie, known for its famous winter bamboo shoot shaomai, was not far either. The hotel offers a rich breakfast, and parking is convenient, although the two underground parking garages aren't interconnected, so you have to walk a bit above ground to get between them. Overall, I found the service atmosphere at this hotel to be very good, and I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Jiaxing.

We arrived a bit early for check-in on our first day. While I understand the standard check-in time is 2 PM, our room wasn't ready until almost 2:20 PM, which was quite frustrating. This was highly unsatisfactory. The front desk staff's attitude was mediocre at best; after calling me over and handing me the key card, they immediately started taking a phone call while I was still trying to ask questions. It took them a good while to finally turn back and assist me, which I found incredibly disrespectful. Additionally, although the hotel seems to be located by Nanhu Lake, all boat tours now depart from Huijingyuan Pier, which is a considerable distance away – practically on the opposite side of the lake from the hotel. You'd definitely need a taxi to get there, as walking is quite a trek. The room was advertised with a 2-meter bed, but it felt noticeably smaller than advertised. For two adults and a child, I ended up having to sleep on the sofa. Other services were not even worth mentioning. The in-room facilities felt a bit outdated, but they were still functional. As for the TV, it was tiny, but honestly, who watches TV when you're on vacation anyway?

The room was decent. It's very close to Nanhu Scenic Area, within walking distance. The breakfast was plentiful.

The hotel has a pretty good location. While the hotel is a bit dated, the overall facilities are still decent. However, the service was truly mediocre, and that's just how it was.

A Japanese-style hotel ideally situated by Nanhu Lake. Its location is superb, within walking distance to Nanhu Lake, and dining options in the vicinity are also quite convenient. While the hotel's facilities feel a bit dated (we had a minor toilet issue, but the engineer promptly came and resolved it), there's complimentary tea in the lobby, and I heard good things about the breakfast. Service was generally warm and attentive. Overall, for an established international hotel, it's a solid choice.
