This was one of the cleanest B&Bs we stayed I during our time in Ireland. It is rather large so didn't really feel like a B&B, but the hosts were welcoming and eager to provide helpful information for getting around the busy town and making suggestions for things to see. The ladies overseeing breakfast were very attentive and accommodating. The breakfast menu and buffet had something for everything. The sitting room with tea and coffee available anytime is lovely. The location is great for walking into town center, so you don't have to worry about parking.

I can't believe all the negative reviews I'm reading about Killarney View House! My wife and I recently stayed here for our honeymoon tour around Scotland and Ireland, and we could not have felt more at home here. The room was cozy and furnished with everything we needed for our stay. Many of the reviews I've read have mentioned the outdated decor and the antiquated TV with only a few channels, so I guess I'm grateful we didn't travel to Killarney to spend both days in the room watching local television. The location was conveniently close to the town center, and we walked to dinner from the B&B both nights we stayed there. It was also easy for us to get to the National Park, Ross Castle, Muckross House, and Abbey, which we loved. The INCLUDED FREE breakfast was always fresh, tasty, and served by friendly staff who attended to our very reasonable needs (by the way, the seeds on the porridge are flax seed, they're pretty common...). Mary met us the first morning we were there, and not only did she know who we were before introducing herself (she knows all of the people staying in her home by name), but she gave us a CD of a local choir singing Christmas songs accompanied by a handwritten card for my wife and me. Truly one of the nicest people we met in a trip filled with only the kindest folks we've had the pleasure of meeting. As others have stated, the lounge was one of the highlights of our stay there, and we were greeted nightly by a cozy coal fire and complementary tea and biscuits with a lovely view of the River Flesk. If you are planning on visiting, we highly recommend checking out Killarney View House for being the perfect place to BEGIN your Killarney adventures. If you are only here for the decor and the television, save yourself the bother and stay home instead.

We stayed here on January 1st and 2nd. We hardly slept a wink the first night because of the very loud live music coming from Tatler Jack's bar downstairs. This went on until around 11.30PM/midnight. When the music stopped we were kept awake by the noise of the revellers leaving the venue and congregating outside, and then by other late-night revellers walking under our hotel room window. The next morning we requested another room but were told that there weren't any other rooms free, but when we checked online later that day there were rooms available. My partner once worked for a company that booked rooms like this; she said that sometimes a room would be booked but that it wouldn't show up immediately on the sites, but there were a few rooms listed as free for this night so this wouldn't be an issue. The staff then told us that the manager, whom they were speaking with over the phone while speaking with us, said that there wouldn't be any live music that second night so we'd be okay. The manager lied because there was more live music that night, and we had the same problem. If you're visiting Killarney to go clubbing and drinking into the early hours then none of this will bother you, but if you're there to see the Ring of Kerry and need to be awake for what is sometimes a percarious (though beautiful) drive along the edge of mountains then avoid this place like the plague because you'll need your sleep. One final note: the staff, tho friendly, have no idea of how hotel housekeeping works. The fresh towels and soap for the second night were dropped onto our unmade beds, and that was it. Unmade beds don't bother me in the least, but they didn't empty the bins or replenish the coffee/tea/milk supplies. These are essentially just rooms over a music venue/bar, and the bar staff give you your room keys, cook the breakfast, and 'service' the rooms. I'm a tour guide, and when the person over the phone heard this he gave us a discount for the room; but I wouldn't recommend staying in this place even if it were free. You'll be in no fit state to drive or enjoy your holiday after a night here.

We stayed here at the beginning of the virus outbreak in March. Although they were getting ready to close this hotel & switch their last remaining guests to another location, they treated us well & the front desk staff was friendly. My family said their breakfasts were good & even nicely accommodated them at the bar during the day...and with limited staff in place. Our rooms were good and everything was clean. You can't beat the location for walking to restaurants & shopping. In a quiet area, too.
