Samui First House Hotel

The accommodation was very nice, with a spacious room and a comfortable little balcony. The hotel also has a lovely swimming pool, open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The location is good, although it’s not ideal for reaching the best beaches, which are about a 30-minute walk away. The only downside was the lack of an elevator, which can be inconvenient if you have heavy luggage.

When we first checked into the hotel, we were given a room that looked nothing like the pictures. The aircon was extremely mouldy a hell health concern. I went straight to reception and she allowed me to change rooms. Which was very nice of her. The room we changed to looked like the pictures but was in a very run down building. So again got cat fished with the photos as we were no where near beach nor the pool. Theres no elevator and no cooling in the building so walking up the stairs was a nightmare. The bed was extremely hard you could feel the springs on your back.. it was worse than bad the worst ive ever slept on. The shower didnt stay warm. You were either getting scolded or having an ice shower no in-between. Do not recommend.

Good hotel, staff lovely, if you don’t like stairs request floor 1 or 2 everywhere immaculate, has its own private beach too.

The hotel is clean, despite of its old-fashioned look. The room is comfortable (but outside noise comes in easily). The only downside is I gotthe room on building 3 and there's no lift in the building and my room was on the 4th fl. So I needed to carry my luggage up all the way by myself. If you would like to book and have big luggages, you may need to reconsider (or request for the lower floor.) I'm not sure whether there is a lift available in its other buildings.

Excellent value for money. Nothing special, but spacious room, good location near enough to action but far enough to be quiet. Nice beach right next door.

A quiet place, nice beach Recommended

One of the biggest advantages of this accommodation is its very convenient location. It is close to shops, restaurants, tourist attractions, and shopping malls, making everyday life during the stay very easy and convenient. It is also close to the beach and offers laundry services, which is a great convenience for guests. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and always greet guests with a smile. However, there are a few areas where I think the accommodation could be improved. The room and some of the furnishings are quite old. The bed is rather firm, and there was a slight musty smell in the room. The bathroom also had an unpleasant smell, similar to urine. The water was somewhat cloudy and did not look very clean, and the water pressure was quite low, which made using the shower less convenient. The building itself is also quite old and could benefit from some renovation. Overall, the main strengths of this place are its excellent location, convenience, and friendly staff. With some improvements to the rooms, building, facilities, bathroom, and water quality, I believe the overall guest experience could be much better.

Although the place is a bit old now and tired it was a very good place to get my head down for a few nights at a very reasonable cost, the private beach access is perfect and just 2 minutes walk from the hotel, warm calm sea with fish all around the rocks, beautiful spot!! The pool is functional and clean, rooms are functional and clean, could do with a lick of paint and and some deep cleaning in the corridors and stairs but for the price I'd definitely recommend (bed was a bit hard) Area was ideal 9and lovely cafes and restaurants surrounding the hotel We stayed in 2 different rooms, deluxe and standard, if you have the extra money book deluxe, we loved the room Pros - spare bed, beach / pool view, clean, room cleaned daily, spacious, lovely staff always helpful, Cons - dirty shower head, both beds in standard and deluxe was very uncomfortable Cons in standard - No Balcony & hall way door doesn’t fully shut allowing bugs to come in and there’s splits in the corridor main door so not very soundproof Minor cons, didn’t affect our holiday or experience.
