Kris Mari

We've been meaning to review this since we came back. Went in Aug 23, it was probably the best place we've been to on holiday. Kos is absolutely beautiful, friendly, unspoilt, breath taking views, clear blue sea, the atmosphere is buzzing. It will appeal to all. The weather was unbelievable, sunny every day and hot. There's something for everyone, families, couples, young groups of friends etc. It feels safe, the food is great, lovely beaches, clubs, really good shops, The Kris Mari hotel was just brilliant. The location is perfect, it's a 2 minute walk (if that) from the beach, bars, shops and resort. The staff were so lovely and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. They were all so friendly, chatty and so helpful and kind. There's a bar, games room, pool table, darts and one large swimming pool. There's a really cool bar overlooking the pool too. There's also a restaurant, we ate out but did have breakfast there which was good. Pretty basic but that's all you need. Not sure if i can name anyone, but there was an amazing lady, I'll call her Ms A - who made our stay extra special. Thank you so much for the best holiday.

My best friend and I just got back from a week at the Kris Mari and it was just the best, funniest and most amazing holiday we have been on! Before we left we had read several reviews of the hotel that had not been very complimentary so we were a bit xx apprehensive on what to expect! How wrong were those reviews!! On arrival we were greeted by Rena who was so helpful in checking us in and helping us throughout our stay as well as her husband Minas who was so kind and helpful they both made us feel at home and part of their extended family. Vaggelis from the pool bar was an absolute blast and nothing was too much trouble and both him and his colleague Rafael kept us suitably entertained throughout the day with Pina Colada’s made with banana ice cream that were extremely exceptional!! Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. They both made our holiday even more enjoyable and are a credit to the Kris Mari. The food at the Kris Mari- Alma restaurant was also outstanding we ate there all but one evening and every meal was delicious, very flavoursome and good size portions! Compliments to the chef! Stauroula special snacks lady was awesome a happy greeting from her every morning at breakfast and looked after us like family was very heart warming. The location of the hotel is perfect literally a 5min walk to the beach and more bars and restaurants. Town and supermarkets were just a little further up the road. The rooms are basic but if your just using it as a base to sleep which is all you really need in a place like this it is perfect and contains what is needed a little fridge, very comfy beds and walk in showers with refreshing waterfall shower head. All I can say as two women on their own we were made to feel so safe and welcomed that we can’t wait to go back later this year. 💖🏖️💖

I stayed here in 2020 during the first lockdown lift and had a super time. The staff were so friendly so decided to go back this year for 2 weeks and took my parent too (2rooms) we got a super deal on jet2 £501 each for 2 weeks b&b (Mid May). The room is basic with fridge, 32inch tv with UK tv for those people who need to watch soaps... Both rooms had a new wet room with big overhead rain shower and a hand-held showerhead for washing hair etc. The beds are single and were comfy (not memory foam but you don’t feel the springs either). The swimming pool is fresh water and is only heated by the sun. so can be cold but once you are in you get use to it. As the week went on the water temp did get better and was very enjoyable, much warmer than the sea. The pool also has new wooden sunbeds which were very comfy. Jenny is still here who runs the evening bar and many who visit this hotel in the past are always made welcome. Gerry who ran the pool bar is now at the superior hotel next door which you can use, as its part of the chain. He’s a great character and the pool food (snack) is well worth the money. Past reviewers have moaned about the breakfast. There’s fresh bread, cake, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, orange and apple juice, ham, cheese, fresh fruit (pear, apple orange) tomatoes, cucumber, olives, boil eggs, yogurt, and cereal. More to feed you in the morning (7.30-9.30am sharp) if you don’t want continental then there’s loads of bars less than 5mins away that do a cooked English etc. We had a super time and I think people forget that you are not in a 5-star hotel. The rooms are clean and well maintained. We take a travel kettle and hard plastic coffee cups as there are no glasses in the room but I’m sure if you as at the bar or breakfast room they will let you take a cup to your room. The only thing for us that stopped the hotel getting a five star was the Alma restaurant which use to be located 5mins away on the sea front is now in the hotel. The food was no way near as good as it use to be. My gyros platter came with no pitta bread or tzatziki and burnt meat and my dad’s gammon was so over cooked that it was like leather. I did raise these issues with the reception team as I really want this hotel to do well as it’s in a great location and many of the guest are regular visitors. If you want great food at super prices then the Mediterranean Sun the next street away next to Pavlos bar is a must. We ate there most nights and always had great food and lovely friendly staff. A meal for 3 with wine is around 34 euros 8to10euros a dish depending what you have. Steak is about 17 euros. The beach is close by and there are a few supermarkets close too, Manos being one of them. Try to enjoy the Greek culture and as long as the rooms are clean and dry with fresh towels when you need them (I place mine in the shower floor so housekeeping know to change) that’s all I ask for. Plenty of bars and restaurants and all make you very welcome. Temps for May 22

Brilliant friendly staff on reception, breakfast and Ana on the bar. Excellent cleaner. Room was an upgraded one with a good bathroom 3rd floor. Will stay st this hotel for sure again, very good location

My last night at the Kris Mari, I shall be so sad to leave (booked for next year though 😊) The most perfect place to enjoy all that Kardemena has to offer Superb room, gorgeous view, fantastic bathroom As a solo female traveller, I have felt so safe and welcome, reception staff are so lovely, really looked after me, always with a smile and a friendly greeting The room was cleaned to a very high standard with gorgeous towel arrangements, little touch, but means a lot ❤️ Can't wait to come back Thank you Kris Mari, always in my heart ❤️

Having seen various reviews about the hotel we were quite hesitant. On arrival all seemed fine except rooms my daughter and I had had stains on walls and in need of updating. First morning tried the Full English very disappointed. My daughter had no clean sheets the whole week,I had to ask for clean towels twice as cleaners took them and were not replaced,bag of rubbish left in my room. Receptionist just kept saying sorry but offered no real apology. Pool barman very unhelpful and quite frankly pretty uninviting. Sadly will not be returning.

I don’t normally write reviews but feel I need to for this holiday. Originally I had paid to stay in the cleopatra superior and requested that I had a pool view room, the hotel advised this wasn’t possible but could accommodate at the kris Marie so we said ok. On check in it was very regimental, €15 for tax which was fine for 10 days if you wanted the air con and safety deposit box that was an extra €110 euro. We decided not to have air con and to be honest it was fine with the door open. Room was basic with 2 single beds which were rock hard like laying on a slab of wood, one pillow given which was flat also. We had a room that had a new shower which was powerful but the drains were awful. You could smell the drainage and it was dreadful. One power socket in the room for your use so if you go take an extension lead or you’ll be stuck. The pool area well what can we say about that, I was there for ten days and never ONCE did I see it get cleaned after a days use. The guy on the pool bar didn’t acknowledge you if you weren’t pretty or wearing a bikini. Reception staff are lovely as are the cleaners. On the last day if you wanted to keep your room on it was €120 which is ridiculous . Did I enjoy my holiday in Kardamena? YES would I stay here again? NO

I WAS ENJOYING MY HOLIDAY, THE HOTEL WAS A BIT BETTER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE, BEDS AND PILLOW VERY HARD AND SHOWER VERY SMALL. THE DAY BEFORE I CAME HOME I HAD A NECKLACE, EARRINGS AND BRACELET STOLEN FROM MY LOCKED HOTEL ROOM, WASN'T VERY PLEASED AS NO ONE WOULD BE. I DIDN'T GET ANY APOLOGY FROM THE HOTEL. JUST WARNING YOU GUESTS TO BE VERY VERY CAREFUL AND NOT TO TRUST ANYONE THERE. I WOULD HAVE GOT THE POLICE INVOLVED BUT THE GOODS WERE TAKEN NEAR THE END OF THE HOLIDAY AND THERES NO TIME TO DO ANYTHING. BE CAREFUL!!!
