The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Autograph Collection

The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund, much like The Fullerton Hotel Sydney (originally the General Post Office), features both a new and an old building, and both are located in the absolute heart of their respective cities! Unfortunately, the old building doesn't allow extra beds, so we had to stay in the new building. Nevertheless, the cultural experience was great!

Very good, it turns out to be a Marriott hotel. The view of the train station outside is beautiful, and the room is spacious with excellent service. Much better service than Indigo.

I rarely leave bad reviews, but I booked this suite specifically for their New Year's Eve buffet, making the reservation three months in advance. To my dismay, they seated us in the ground-floor restaurant, which had no Chinese New Year activities. You'd think other countries might not understand, but for a hotel under Malaysian Chinese ownership, how could they not know? Compared to other Marriott properties, the facilities here are outdated, and its location makes it inconvenient to get anywhere without a taxi. The upsides are the large, quiet rooms, and the fact that suites can accommodate an extra bed.

The hotel's location is excellent. We arrived at Kuala Lumpur Old Railway Station from Penang by train, and the hotel was right across the road. There are two subway stations nearby, and both the National Museum and National Mosque are within walking distance. The hotel service was very thoughtful and attentive. The breakfast was rich and varied, and we had an unforgettable Chinese New Year 🌷🌺💐. We'll definitely stay at The Majestic again! 👏
