Hotels near Central District, Taichung

Pros: rooms are renovated and clean, breakfast varied daily and taste good, AC was cold, and hotel quite near the taichung TRA, and steps away from gancheng station where a lot of buses pass by cons: soundproofing could be better, no bidet in toilet All in all, still a good hotel choice in taichung considering the cheap price

Whenever I visit Taichung, I always choose Mr. Mantter for my stay. Besides the fact that Trip.com often has special deals for Diamond members, the main reason is its excellent location. It's very convenient to get around, and there are plenty of parking spaces on Taiwan Boulevard. The rooms are spotless, the shower has great water pressure and is hot enough, plus it's a dry/wet separation design. The in-room air conditioning is just right, and the bed's firmness is also perfect. The staff are friendly and there are many dining options nearby, not to mention it's not far from the night market. This is definitely a place I'll keep coming back to.

Hotel location was superb! By the main road, everything was accessible. Yet inside the rooms, you barely hear road noise and sleep was proper. Hotel was a little bit old yes, but the rooms were spacious (also cos I got a complimentary upgrade yay). Front desk staffs can appear aloof but they are actually friendly and provide 24 hours assistance. Water dispenser on level 5 and 8 of each floor for convenience. TV had ample international channels, and toilet had wet/dry separation with proper hot water that came when you needed it and water pressure was good. Towels and linens were clean enough, really value for money. Stayed 2 nights and did not regret.

Stayed here from 10 Apr to 14 Apr. It is about 10-15mins walk Taichung Railway station. The hotel is within the central district of Taichung (buildings are older here), but the hotel itself looks and feel relatively new and modern. It is conveniently located near lots of food options, and the Taichung Second Market and Miyahara is only about 5-10mins walk away. The room is clean and spacious. It has a nice modern design too. The basic amenities such as shampoo, shower gel, lotion and hairdryer are provided. Can’t seem to find local channels on the TV but you can use apps like netflix and youtube. The hotel also provides complimentary breakfast, tea time (if i recall correctly) and supper. The variety is acceptable given that this is not a big hotel. food is decent too. For breakfast there was a mini salad bar, porridge station, various steamed buns, toasts. For supper, there were braised minced meat rice and side dishes, soup, DIY noodle station, steamed buns, toasts, DIY beancurd station, some snacks/tidbits. There is also dessert with red/green bean soup, drinks and ice cream. Just one minor hiccup - a false fire alarm was trigger at 4am on one of the nights which only affected the higher floors from 9th storey and above. The guests on our storey werent aware if the lift is working or if it is safe to use and we ended up climbing the stairs down, only to find out later that there was no real fire. The affected guests waited at the lounge for about 30mins as the alarm was still ringing. The firemen eventually came and turned off the alarm. The hotel did apologise for the inconvenience by pasting a notice in the lift and informed guests to reach out to them if there are any queries. It would be nice if the hotel can engage the affected guests more directly and possible provide some form of compensation as service recovery. Nonetheless, still a pleasant stay overall!

Comfortable and well located stay. It's all immigrants in this area and quite a lot of homeless too. But the hotel was clean and well kept. The staff was friendly. No breakfast arrangement though.

It's very close to Taichung Railway Station, and the hotel is clean. There are many great food options nearby. Breakfast is served at another Check Inn nearby, which is very convenient. It would be even better if there was a laundry room.

This was the best room that we've got so far, the room has balcony and it was the best. I'm really happy and at the same time sad because I only booked this for 1 night, i wish I booked it for atleast a week😅 but maybe next time. Again this is not gonna be the last time that I will book this hotel. As usual the room is clean as well as the bathroom.

Intrigued by the flawless reviews, I booked this hostel for my very first hostel experience. The reception, located on the 12th floor, is in a spacious lobby with a fresh and elegant design. The front desk staff were patient, friendly, and incredibly welcoming. My room was on the 8th floor; it was simple, comfortable, clean, and tidy, with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. Each floor has a common area with a modern and stylish design. This stay was a pleasant surprise and exceeded my expectations. It's a shame I only stayed one night, but the perfect reviews are definitely well-deserved.

The rooms at this hotel are clean and modern, but rigid rules diminish the overall guest experience. The staff enforce a strict 3:00 pm check-in policy, which felt unnecessary given the hotel was largely empty. They provided a welcome treat bag in the room but explicitly warned me I would be charged if I took the flimsy, low-cost bag itself. I also had to sign an agreement to pay a fee if I lost the standard plastic room key. These petty policies create the impression that the hotel is more focused on penalising or charging guests than providing genuine hospitality. A stronger focus on the customer would greatly improve this property.

The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and had an amazing attitude. The hotel facilities are excellent, and the room was spotless with no strange odors. It's conveniently located for getting around, with lots of great Southeast Asian food nearby. Definitely recommend! 👍 Forgot to take photos.
