I stayed at this place for one day in the spring. It’s a very nice hanok and a great opportunity to experience living in a traditional hanok (you could heard the next room snoring sound ㅋㅋㅋ). The staff were kind, although not especially welcoming—possibly because they are older and their English is limited. However, when I returned to pick up something I had forgotten, they gave it back to me immediately. The breakfast is simple, with cup noodles, bread, cereal with milk, juice, and instant coffee, so don’t expect too much. I forgot to take the picture but 5m from the stay place you could find a beautiful coffee name Doux foret coffee and bakery (must-try).

A great place to relax after long walks. Cleaning is done every day, and on the first floor, you can both leave your luggage and heat your food. It's very quiet, a comfortable hard bed. There is a convenience store just next door.

Best location for visiting Cheomseongdae, Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, and Woljeonggyo Bridge. I stayed here with my daughter — the room was quite small for two adults, but it’s a good place for a one-night stay. The room was cozy and warm.

It appears to be a family-run business. The customer service is excellent. The daughter likely studied abroad in an English-speaking country and speaks beautiful English. If you install the What's Up app, you can communicate with her instantly and she will respond to various requests, such as if your room won't unlock or calling a taxi. The room is a traditional Korean house with an ondol heating system, which is very comfortable in the cold season. Breakfast is simple. However, it is a short distance from restaurants and convenience stores, so we recommend doing some shopping after touring the tourist attractions.

Location was good. Close to central bus station, the tombs, 7 eleven next door. Stored luggage there before and after our stay. Staff was friendly and helpful.. No elevator but has a dumb waiter for luggage. 10,000 for laundry. Breakfast was just toast butter and jam. One morning there wasn't any toast and I couldn’t find staff to refill. For me the location was the most important thing. So I was happy.

1. Location It takes 5 minutes to walk from the intercity bus terminal stop. It is located in a quiet residential area. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk to Hwangridan-gil, and you can take a bus from the intercity bus terminal to most places. Of course, taking a taxi doesn't cost more than the basic fare! It's near Hwangridan-gil, but it was so quiet that it was great! 2. Facilities It's better than the pictures! It's clean, and the yard is beautifully decorated as the name suggests. It was great to sit on a chair at night and chat with my companions. The bathroom, bedding, and place to eat snacks were all clean! They also provided 6 towels for 2 people for 2 nights, so they were generous. 3. Service I arrived earlier than the check-in time, so I asked to leave my luggage, and they kindly accepted it and allowed me to store my luggage! I was able to make coffee from the coffee machine at the reception, and there was also a water purifier. There was water in the room, but it wasn't enough, so I asked if they could give me more, and they gave me more. And in the evening, they provided me with a glass of wine and fruit along with a fire pit. It was also nice that the boss made sure the lights were turned off before he left work. In the morning, he brought me sandwiches, coffee, and juice. I was able to start my trip with a full stomach. Both the male and female bosses were so kind. I want to come back again next time I travel to Gyeongju!

This hotel boasts a great location, right across from the express bus terminal. It's tucked away in an alley just off the main street, surrounded by charming Hanok cafes and restaurants. The room was cozy. Even though it was May, it was a chilly, drizzly day, so I really appreciated the warm ondol floor, which helped me sleep soundly. I was a bit surprised by how compact the toilet and shower area at the back of the room was, but the hot water supply was excellent and everything was kept very clean, so I felt comfortable using it. They also offer a simple breakfast. Regarding luggage storage, it's more like leaving your bags in a designated area rather than a secure storage facility. So, if you're concerned, it's advisable to bring a lockable suitcase.

Amazing
SstanloonaAn amazing once-in-a-lifetime hanok experience!! The place was absolutely beautiful, and our host was the kindest person ever. Their service was amazing, even providing us with a bottle of wine, and free breakfast even though it originally didn’t come with our booking. We visited Gyeongju for 3 nights during the windy winter of February, so some of the pros & cons may not be applicable for other seasons: Pros: - Amazing location: right in the heart of Gyeongju’s trendy hanok district, it is a few minutes walk from Hwangnidan-Gil street, Cheonmachong etc. Despite this district being absolutely PACKED in the weekend, our hanok was tucked in a more cozy, quiet corner, above a restaurant. It was then really quiet in our hanok, and we surprisingly didn’t have any problem of smells from the restaurant downstairs coming up into our rooms. - Clean aesthetic that perfectly balances the vibes of a traditional hanok, and a modern hotel. Suitable for those travelling with older families, for example, who may not be able to sleep comfortably on hard floors. The interior designer for this hanok deserves a raise - Floor heating was done well, and we didn’t feel cold at all despite the winds at night during our winter stay - gigantic TV - host was very kind and easy to communicate with via WhatsApp! - appreciated that the toilet and shower were very clean and modern as well! Cons: - there weren’t any wardrobes, and not many hangers were provided to hang your clothes. It’s only a minor issue, since we had more coats for our winter wear. However, since most people are booking this hanok for short stays, it shouldnt be a big issue either - as we came here via car at night, the parking lot assigned to us was a ~2min walk away from the actual hanok, so it was a bit confusing to locate the parking lot and hanok in the dark at first. - at night, the winds in the winter get quite strong, and so like any wooden house - there will naturally be quite a bit of sound like the wooden door shaking, sound of wind etc. Coming from the city, we were a bit scared and thought there were intruders at first LOL. This isn’t a big problem (especially during less windy seasons), but I think it’s just worth keeping in mind, especially if you are very sensitive to sounds when sleeping. If these cons aren’t applicable or big issues for you, then yes I would more than recommend this hanok stay!!! It’s a rare experience, and hence worth the money imho!

GGuest UserWe were highly satisfied with how spacious the room is! This picture was taken from the door. As you can see, the space is wide enough to open luggages, and to walk around inside the room. We loved the big screen of the TV in front of the bed, and the air freshening machine in the room was a definitely a bonus👍🏼 The washroom is definitely worth mentioning. We were so surprised by the size of the washroom. The bathing area was so spacious that you can walk around and enjoy your time without any burden. Although the washroom is not dry-wet seperated (dry-wet seperation is not common in South Korea), the distance between the toilet and showering area practically is a dry-wet seperation🙌🏽 Simple breakfast is provided and the location is a 12- minute walk to the crowded streets, where you can find restaurants and snacks, and the scenic views which can only be found in Gyeongju. Recommended to families, couples and friends👍🏼

GGuest UserThe hostel itself is nice and clean. The beds are comfy and underneath there's enough storage space for a big backpack. The location is OK for exploring the city and there are bus stops nearby. However, it felt a little unipersonal and the bathroom situation is not ideal. There is a single toilet in the men's bathroom and was pretty busy in the morning.

UurimurimThis hotel offers the best value for money. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, and it was great that they provided free bicycle and storage box rentals. Given its location, the room felt a bit smaller than it appeared in the photos, but it was perfectly comfortable for a stay. And the biggest highlight of this hotel was definitely the breakfast. There was a good variety of food, and the lounge atmosphere was very relaxing. It seems like a great place to visit with family or friends.

たかんIt is a motel near Gyeongju Bus Terminal in Gyeongju City. There are several convenience stores and restaurants nearby. You can go from the nearby bus stop to Shin-Gyeongju Station, Buddhist Temple, Ryodong Village, Tamayama Shoin, etc. by one. The main attractions of the Gyeongju Historical Area are located within a few kilometers of here, so you can go sightseeing on foot. The hotel has a water server and a microwave, which is great. I would like to stay again if I come to Gyeongju again.

WWBeautiful chalet-style place for staying! The bed is very comfortable. The room is clean and organised. A few chairs and a table to do work or eat. Very spacious area for watching tv. There’s a bbq pit outside each unit. The host brought fresh towels for my second night, thank you! I love the beautiful decoration and swimming pool downstairs, even though it’s cold at night. It has a charming atmosphere, with an outdoor screen, swings and nice music. Sound insulation is ok, although you can hear the frogs croak outside from the bathroom. The place is about 20 mins’ walk from the bus stop with restaurants, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Theres a emart24 about 10 minutes away. There’s a restaurant next door that sells fried chicken till 11pm. It’s a must-try! Host and his wife are extremely helpful people. Thank you for your warm hospitality! Highly recommended for people who want privacy and lots of space to hang out.

GGuest UserWe came across a YouTube video that introduced us to Gyeongju, and it totally caught our attention. With all the historic buildings and cool sights, we figured we had to check it out—even if just for one night. Honestly, one night wasn’t enough. We definitely wish we had stayed longer. We booked a night at Gyeongju Hwangnamkwan Hanok Hotel, and it was such a unique experience. Staying in a traditional hanok felt special—like stepping into a different time. The location was super convenient, and parking was easy, which made things even smoother. The hotel had hanboks we could try on, which was a fun touch. We kind of fumbled our way through getting dressed since there weren’t any instructions or videos to help, but we made it work and got some great photos around the hotel. It would be awesome if they added a little guide for guests who aren’t familiar with hanbok. We loved being able to walk to nearby attractions and just soak in the vibe of the city. Gyeongju’s got a lot to offer, and we’re already thinking about coming back for a longer stay.

GGuest UserExcellent Stay – Highly Recommended! I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel, and I can confidently say that it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive, making me feel right at home. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I truly appreciated the warm hospitality. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully designed, with all the amenities one could ask for. The bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep, and the housekeeping team did a fantastic job keeping everything clean and fresh throughout my stay. The view from my room was breathtaking, adding to the overall experience. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel’s facilities. The pool area was well-maintained and perfect for relaxation, while the fitness center had everything needed for a good workout. The on-site restaurant served delicious food with a great variety of options, and the breakfast buffet was simply outstanding – fresh, diverse, and of high quality. The location of the hotel was also a huge plus. It was conveniently situated near major attractions, shops, and public transportation, making it easy to explore the city. Despite being in a central location, the hotel itself was quiet and peaceful, providing a perfect balance between accessibility and relaxation. What truly sets this hotel apart is the exceptional service. Every staff member went above and beyond to ensure guests had a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made my stay truly memorable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious, comfortable, and well-managed place to stay. I will definitely be returning on my next visit! Thank you to the entire team for making my trip so special.

PPinky DerpsMy review would've been a lot better if there wasn't a promised breakfast. (A box with cup noodles on the floor under the microwave, in the reception area) Most of what made my stay uncomfortable were other guests, they made a mess of the kitchen and during the weekend I actually felt unsafe with the yelling, banging on walls and running through the hallway. The room was clean and comfortable with a large bathroom. Towels were fluffy and bedding clean. The coffee machine was empty but immediately refilled when I mentioned it. The cleaning staff did amazing cleaning up the mess in the kitchen every time! Usually there was no staff at the front desk so some instructions on ”breakfast” and where to find staff (in the office next to the elevator) would've been nice, as well as where to find certain shared areas.
