Eddlewood Guest House Reviews

This is an old property - we stayed in January and the windows were running with water and the curtains are not great. The heating was barely coping so the owner kindly gave us an additional electric radiator. Breakfast is a low quality continental pre-packed one - such a shame - we chose to get breakfast out. There is a hairdryer in the bedroom but no mirror. It's way over-priced but accommodation in Shetland seems to be at a premium while the wind farm is bring built and some places were taking a holiday, so our choice was limited. Although we were told there was plenty of street parking nearby, this was not our experience.

A great place to stay. Bug , warm rooms. Comfy beds. Great continental breakfast. Good location for the town.

Really friendly and helpful owners who went the extra mile to make my stay a lovely one. Nice clean room, perhaps could benefit from a couple of drinking glasses, and a surface or at least hooks in the bathroom for wash bag and clothes. Otherwise, perfectly adequate. Good breakfast and other than no jugs for milk on the table (I used a cup), it was spot-on...... Toast, boiled egg, fruit, yogurt, cheese and even smoked salmon - a real treat. Choice of teas and coffee.

My room was a decent size, clean and tidy on arrival. It's an old building, big single glazed windows but it's a quiet enough part of town that it doesn't matter. It had nice views. The radiator kept it warm enough through the stormy day in October I was there. I stayed in a room with a double bed which was quite low but I slept very well in it anyway. Of the three places I've stayed in Shetland this one is the best and I'd look it out again next time. The owner was very helpful and the stay was a relaxed experience.

The hosts are very friendly and nice folk Convenient to walk into town and close to main road to Sumburgh and others. We had a nice little sitting area for tea in our room...Wifi was good and lots of options for continental breakfast

Very welcoming . Clean . 1st floor room - converted into rooms . A little tight / cosy . Breakfast - healthy and nourishing. Beds comfy . Less than a 5 minute walk to the heart of the town. Parking on street - but manageable . Worth the visit Would come back again .

A lovely b&b , nice renovated rooms, good beds and a wounderful shower. A very big continental breakfast, they even had extra glutenfree options for me as i have an allergy, so kind.

An excellent B&B outside the center of the Lerwick, but very walkable to anywhere you need to go. The room was clean, the bed was very comfy, and had a large ensuite bathroom with a great shower. The continental breakfast had a good array of choices. We will definitely be back to stay again!

Great Guest House with a room offering plenty of space, private bathroom facilities and a fantastic view over the ocean. Eddlewood Guest House is situated in a quiet area just a 5 minutes walk from the centre of Lerwick and about 1 km. from Tesco. During my stay only continental breakfast was served, but still there was plenty of food to choose from and enough space to ensure that all guests (5 rooms in total) could have a table of their own. The host was utmost friendly and it was a joy to stay there. I truly recommend Eddlewood Guest House as THE place to stay during a trip to Lerwick and Shetland in general.

Eddlewood House is in a perfect position to explore Lerwick- you can walk anywhere throughout the city and are very close to the market cross. Callum was super nice and a great cook for the breakfast. Shower pressure was good and the water got pretty hot. The only negative was that the radiator didn't work very well and I was cold much of the time.

Calum is an excellent host. We were very well looked after. The breakfasts were very good, and the dining room is charming and original. We liked the location as it was so close to everything in Lerwick- literally minutes in to the town centre. Our room was on the first floor. It was fairly compact, but really clean and comfortable. Thank you for a great stay.

We stayed here for 6 nights and had a very decent sized room on the top floor which gave us terrific views. The guesthouse is perfectly placed in Lerwick, easy walk to everywhere in town and close to the main road both North and South. The bathroom was large with a bath over the shower and room could be serviced every day if you required it. There was also a washing machine and dryer for guest use. A full Scottish breakfast was available every day if you desired it but there was also yoghurt fruit cereal etc. There is no designated parking, just what is available on the street. We never had an issue accessing parking. The owner is relatively new to the business I think and he is a very nice, friendly chap. Rooms could do with a little bit of updating and dusting but overall a very happy and comfortable week for us.

Our second stay in a week and just as good. Efficient and pleasant host, with lovely room and excellent breakfast.

This was an exceptional place to stay. From check in to check out everything went smoothly. I wish I could’ve stayed longer they took care of me so well.
