VIP Executive Zurique Hotel

Baixa Lisbon|0.91km from Versailles
My recent stay at the VIP Executive Zurique Hotel was acceptable. This hotel has so much potential, and some more attention in a few areas would go a long way in transforming this property to one of a higher quality. The service was excellent. Employees were all compassionate and professional. In addition, the food offered in the hotel’s restaurant was of high quality. Prices at the property were fair. From a value point of view, I expected a bit more. I paid €439 for my eight-day stay. In addition, dinner was expensive and extremely limited. More specifically, in terms of amenities, the hotel boasts a beautiful outdoor pool area. Unfortunately, it was often overcrowded and littered with garbage. More attention to detail would remedy these issues. Wifi was available, but weak in certain parts of the hotel. A bar is located in the lobby, but opens late and closes early in the evening, making it inaccessible. The gym was closed during my time here. That was also unfortunate, as images and descriptions on websites were misleading. I stayed in an Executive Single Room during my week here. The room itself was contemporary and updated, however, housekeeping was inconsistent. Some days, my room was cleaned impeccably, others, housekeeping was abysmal or nonexistent. Towels oftentimes had rips or stains on them. The curtains had small rips and were stained. In addition, one of the blankets was stained. The provided toiletries were good. The bed itself was comfortable, but the pillows were very poor quality. The hotel did not specially publicize a smoking policy. Oftentimes, the corridors reeked of smoke. Cigarettes littered the pool deck and common areas in the hotel. Staff worked hard to keep surfaces in the lobby disinfected, however, their efforts were undermined by thousands of guests utilizing these areas. I do believe the hotel is understaffed. The hotel would benefit from having maintenance and housekeeping readily available and on call for assistance. When I necessitated maintenance, I was told I would have to wait for the following morning when the technician would be available. While the rooms were updated and contemporary, the bathrooms were rundown. The hotel shows it’s apparent age on the exterior, and in the elevators. Some surfaces were cracked and not functional. I experienced difficulties in the elevators. They stopped working at times, leaving me stuck. Again, better maintenance would remedy these concerns. The location of the hotel is a positive. It is surrounded by transit options that provide direct links to cities all across the country. This is ideal for all visitors. Overall, the hotel served it’s purpose. I do believe the hotel is ill equipped to handle the high volume of guests that stay here. Housekeeping is marginal, and must be improved. Maintenance needs to pay closer attention to the aging property. Finally, security here is lacking. I have some concerns as it pertains to safety. Front desk staff has no control over people

Service: Night receptionist was very polite and professional. I was not able to lock the door in the first room I was given, and another room was promptly offered. All the information I needed was provided and I really enjoyed my welcoming. Check-out morning receptionist was very polite as well, and offered me a discount, if I had stayed a second night (in the end, we were not able to stay, but it was a very kind gesture). Rate: Very good rate, particularly if you consider this is a 3-Star Hotel. Breakfast was a bit complicated to get during my stay (mostly due to Covid-19 restrictions). Because it such a good area, we decided not to have breakfast at the hotel. There are plenty of places to have breakfast around the hotel (if you want the best, go to Pastelaria Versailles), and most are very affordable. Room: Good size for one or two people. Furniture is new and surprisingly modern. Curtains could block out daylight a lot more. Asked for a balcony and got one: perfect! Asked for a double bed, but was given two twin beds joined together. I hate it when they do that. It was just for one night, so it was acceptable. Asked for a room facing the main road: I was told that it was not possible for the type of room I chose (a double, even though I ended up in a room with two twin beds joined together). Perhaps only triple rooms face the main road? I wonder. Very comfortable mattress and pillows Shower Head: Excellent! Perfect shower. Bedroom doors are not the best: a lot of light came from underneath the bedroom door, people in the hall could be heard quite well, even when they were not being noisy, and closing it meant you needed to slam it almost every time. Cleanliness: Very good! Bed linen and towels were impeccably clean. And so was the bathroom/toilet. Location: Perfect. Subway/Tube around the corner (you can get downtown - city centre - in 10 minutes), a lot of nice restaurants and cafés (pastelarias), all you need within walking distance, Gulbenkian Museum and gardens, which you should not miss, is just 10-12 minutes away on foot. Covid-19 Information: The Hotel was very clear about all the rules. Hand-sanitiser was available through-out the premises; the cleaning team was very active and seemed to take sanitary regulations quite seriously.

Loved this hotel, helpful staff, not a bad location and spotlessly clean. Great rooftop bar. There was a good choice of buffet at breakfast, although it could be a bit chaotic at times. Our room was lovely, it was cleaned every day. The only negative was the glass door to the bathroom, it doesn’t give much privacy!

I arrived after a really long travel from Budapest, stayed there 2 days 14-15 th August 2022 On the photos, this hotel seemed nice, clean hotel. When I entered the room I was very surprised. The musty odor of mold was my first experience, that came from the bathroom. The bathroom was very small, super uncomfortable In addition no soap and neither toilet paper was there :))))))) The night I heard constant rumors from the street. The building was very old, quiet all night, probably hard to sleep with the noise of the engine room and elevator It is a very old building, so you get all the difficulties with it I could not open the door to the balcony, and any windows in my room. The bed smelled old, the furniture and the room maintenance seems the cheapest possible and sometimes improvised. This is a kind of facility you might desire in a desperate situation, but not the place if you plan to relax or enjoy vacation

The staff are helpful and friendly with the check in. There is a very cozy area in guesthouse for free tea and coffee and cookies. The guesthouse is very cosy and we enjoyed our stay. The metro is just opposite with one min walk, and connects to the airport no need interchange metro line. The bathroom is always clean. Definitely recommend.
