My wife and daughter stayed. After the visit I had a message from them saying a pillow and its pillow case had gone missing. Without any contact I have been charged for it. Having spoken to my wife she confirmed there was only one pillow on one side of the bed on arrival but didn’t think anything of it. Btw, there is no list detailing what should be in the room. So my wife and daughter have been convicted of theft by the accommodation without having the chance to discuss. Let’s face it they could turn around and say a whole load of things have gone missing and I would have no recourse as they will deduct from the advance deposit made. Their actions are nothing short of disgusting and I will be reporting the hotel to the police as during my stay something has allegedly been stolen, probably by one of their members of staff!! I can see other reviews of this place where people have been accused of damage and other things gone missing and money taken off them. Do not go anywhere near this place unless you want your money stolen from you

Time has not been kind to this marvelous art deco building located on Sloane Ave, Chelsea, not far from Kings Road. They advertise “luxurious” apartments and while there may be some, ours and three others I viewed, were far from luxury. We initially booked a studio but what you see is not necessarily what you get. Once we arrived we were able to upgrade to a 1 bedroom apartment. I was kindly given my choice and shown 3 other apartments on the first, third and fourth floor. Cleanliness, or the lack thereof is definitely an issue. I normally give both hotel rooms and apartments a quick wipe down with bacterial wipes when we arrive, regardless of the accommodations ratings. However, I was shocked as to how much dirt came up with the wipes. The apartment has the basics but nothing that makes it luxurious. No coffee pot but there was a kettle and a French press. Absolutely no space in cabinets to put any purchased foods or kitchen necessities. No laundry detergent was provided but a small bottle of dishwashing liquid, some pods for the dishwasher, one kitchen towel and a very small sponge. Two rolls of toilet paper are provided at the beginning of your stay. The glaring anti-luxurious amenities include broken window panes, stained carpet, stained upholstery on both couch and chair. The couch is terribly uncomfortable, like sitting on a rock. The lighting is recessed in the ceiling only and there’s a bulb out in both the living area and the bedroom. The bedroom does have two sconces on either side of the bed which adds some ambience which is missing in the rest of the apartment. However, only one night table with two drawers for one side of the bed, all other clothes can either be hung up or stay in your suitcase. There’s a worn throw at the foot of the bed that needs a good laundering. There’s a washer that looks like it’s been taped into its storage closet but it works. There are no instructions anywhere for the washer so we had to look up the manual online. We had a rough idea how it worked but there were a few things we needed clarification on. There is a microwave but I’m 5’4 and it’s too high to safely let me take anything out of it that’s been heated. There are no basics such as sugar, salt and pepper or tea. There was supposed to be a welcome basket of these things but we never received them. The bathroom you enter at your own peril. There is both a bath and an overhead shower but climbing in to either is a challenge in both maneuvering and balance. The toilet sits so close to the tub and the glass partition that it makes it difficult to safely enter the tub or shower. The glass partition opens about 8 inches before it hits the pedestal sink. You get two bath towels and my hand towels for two people for 7 days. There is a towel warmer which you can hang your towels on but not another single hook or towel rack anywhere in the bathroom and limited places to place any toiletries. There is plenty of room for hooks either on the door, to the l

We chose this two bedroom apartment for a five days stay. The location was great very near every thing, we got daily cleaning service and the amenities were good. One negative is that this building does not have air-conditioners, so in the summer with the hot weather the apartments can be suffocating. Luckily we only experienced one hot day during our stay. The other biggest negative is that it is not safe, i.e. the cleaning staff can pick up stuff.....unfortunately for us we discovered this after reaching our own home. So just be careful about your shopping etc. lock everything.

!!Stay clear of MICHELLE and MARIA Worst customer service in my life!! MICHELLE was a severely unhelpful, untrustworthy and nasty piece of work. MARIA was condescending, self centred and unbelievably passive aggressive in her emails. You go to these people to seek help as the paying customer but are met with 2 of the worst pieces of service you could find, it’s laughable people like this get into these positions. Stayed over a weekend to enjoy London and stayed in a very average room for the price. They STOLE £83 from us, I deposited £500 and took pictures of the entire room. Upon leaving they said I would have my money returned. We had to get in touch with them to enquire about it and to our shock they have claimed we broken the smallest corner of their outdated and cheap fridge. They then sent an invoice of £83 for parts that weren’t even broken and provided 0 evidence to back it up, a little fishy isn’t it. We are a young couple and they took severe advantage of us. At this point it’s not about the money it’s just the morales and these people have been clearly raised without them. Wherever we go we want to enjoy ourselves and take pride in looking after our accommodation as we know how hard some service workers have it, but this place deserved nothing of the such. Entered the bed and to my disgust there were brown splatters on the bed, god only knows what it could have been and I had to sleep on it for a night. Zero apologies and no remorse for what ever I could have contracted. No air con lead to a very stuffy and uncomfortable room with flimbsy windows you are afraid to touch in case they try and take more money from you! Grumpy and lazy receptionists who were reluctant to help or make conversation. They wished us well and hoped we’d return after constant unhelpful back and forth trying to justify their actions and their blatant lies. I couldn’t not recommend this place any more and I hope anyone who reads this changes their mind on staying. (Left some attached photos of the state of the room, the bedsheets I slept in and the tragic damage that was done to the poor little shelf )

Super accommodation. We travelled as a family of three, my husband I and our 15 year old son. We were in flat 505 which is a one bedroom apartment with sofa bed. The bedroom has a frosted door for privacy from the living area which has the sofa bed which our son found very comfortable and slept well. The apartment was lovely and clean, bedding was excellent as it is Egyptian cotton. Super fluffy and thick towels. The kitchen is fully equipped and had a full sized dishwasher and washing machine with tumble dryer. Given the building is an older building there is no air conditioning but there were 2 fans which we found a god send as London was very hot while we were there. The checking in staff and concierge were really helpful, friendly and welcoming. We felt very safe and happy throughout our stay and will definitely recommend others to stay here.

This is a block of serviced apartments, not a hotel. Friendly helpful staff, minimalist art-deco furnishings, clean and well equipped kitchen, decent size, very functional. #214 is a 1-bedroom corner unit overlooking the street. Quite noisy on weekdays, especially with motor scooters, but quiet by night. Fast free wi-fi. I imagine the rooms would be stuffy in summer, but the main and top window panes do open. Good location for an 8-minute walk to trains from Sloane Square and South Kensington, and buses on Kings Road. Bus #19 was our preferred transport if you don't want the crush of the train.

Sleep quality poor owing to the noise outside (bins and deliveries throughout the day). Pleasant stay otherwise, the porters were very helpful. We felt secure at night too owing to the rigorous security patrol and checks by Gregory. Great location for museums and beautiful surroundings in a stunning "village" in London.

I booked a one bedroom flat for a few days, but got moved around. I assume there was overbooking. The manager was wonderful about it, and very kind, even upgraded me to the penthouse for my last 2 nights in London! Now, as they are owned by different folks, I assume, I had a problem with one of the studios which was dirty and moldy. They had nowhere else to put me, or would have moved me. The other two were fine: the penthouse was beautiful, clean and modern. As a single woman traveling I felt safe with the building, and left my luggage when I got in too early to check in. Everyone was helpful and kind. I'm staying again in a week.

We have just stayed here for five night. Booked through AIRBNB, we were in apartment 524 overlooking the front entrance. A very basic apartment with a little kitchen and necessary utensils to cook for yourself if you want, the fridge came in very handy. Bed was comfortable, had no trouble sleeping. The free wifi worked well. Bathroom was ok, had a bath which is handy sometimes, plenty of nice towels and we loved the heated towel rack. The unit had a washing machine, dryer which we used once , that came in very handy. The guys at reception were always friendly and helpfull. The lifts in the complex always worked well. Agree with others the front entrance and nice foyer is better than what you get inside. Love the statue of Nell Gwynn above the entrance, there is a great historic story with that Lady, worth checking it out. Quite expensive for what you get but then it is in Chelsea London. Handy to the two stations, easy to walk to the main shopping area. We found the little supermarket across the street very handy, visited it each night .

It is always a joy to stay here, my home away from home when visiting London. Bright, airy rooms. Plenty of light due to the large windows and snug and warm in the winter (bathroom towel warmer is greatly appreciated. ) My studio room was spotlessly clean with fresh towels, linen and toiletries. The small kitchen made it possible to cook meals in, with pots pans dishes and cutlery. Sainsbury’s is across the street. But the most attractive draw is the helpfulness and friendliness of their staff. From the front desk porters to the employees in the back office, everyone works to make sure you have a pleasant stay. A special thanks to Fernando and Marco who help me with all my questions; even looking up the timetable of the Heathrow Express and summoning cabs. When my stove top malfunctioned on a Sunday morning Fernando made a call to Doris one of the household staff who is available immediately to solve the problem. Michelle and Andrea were also helpful with any questions. In this day of so many choices of accommodation, customer service can make or break a place and Nell Gwynn shines.

Be *extremely* careful when booking rooms/apartments here. I booked through a third party and ended up with a room that was basically a large prison cell--NO WINDOW, about 40 square feet/8 square meters, a twin bed, and almost no space to sit down. If I had known that's what I had booked, I would be less upset, but this hotel/apartment booking agency seems to make their reservation system deliberately confusing. I have read responses to negative reviews this hotel has received, and they consistently blame the customer for not realizing they are reserving a "pod," and not a hotel room or apartment. If you look over their websites--both for apartments and for the pods, they *both* show rather charming and spacious apartments. There is NO indication anywhere that you are booking a tiny space with no window. My booking company tried to make it right with me, but only after having a lot of difficulties communicating with the people at Nell Gwynn. Indeed they have very inconvenient office hours (they didn't even show up to their posted Saturday hours), and it is very difficult to meet with someone face-to-face to discuss the issues with the room. At best, this is lack of transparency and unclear websites. At worst, this is deliberate bait-and-switch, with little options for guests to get help. In addition to the above, the downstairs area with the "pods" had grimy carpets, grimy walls, my air conditioner occasionally blew out large flakes of something black, and there is not housekeeping if you are staying for less than a week. The neighborhood is gorgeous, the lobby is gorgeous, but it seems like a crapshoot whether you will get the kind of accommodation you think you are booking. It's concerning. I would not recommend booking with this property.
