We stayed here for two nights. I booked a sea view room and when I checked in, I was placed on the first floor. Although there was a sea view, it was too low and many things were blocked. It happened that there was something wrong with my toilet and it needed to be repaired, so I went to the front desk and asked to change rooms. Because the guest rooms were full, they gave us a two-bedroom suite on the 5th floor for free. The environment is very beautiful (see photos) and it is very convenient nearby. There is also a small supermarket where you can make your own food. In addition, there is a Chinese restaurant nearby that tastes good. A special view here is that you can watch planes take off and land so close to the airport. There are people watching on the beach. If you book this hotel, you should ask for a room above the second floor. It basically has sea view suites.

Royal Islander Club LaPlage is my home away from home. I’ve been coming here every year for the past 26 + years and more recently extended my stay.. Nina the guest relations manager is fabulous, catering to your every need. Mr London is in charge of activities and plans every excursion for you. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and offer all the amenities you need. St Martin is the Friendly Island, but Royal Islander is my Happy Place!

Wonderful resort has being visiting for years love the location and staff. Everything is nothing short of enjoyable. Staff goes above and beyond. Nina is the best. A must place to stay everything is within walking distance. Pool is great with walkout access to beach. The room are nicely decorated with warm Caribbean ambiance.

We have been going to Royal Islander for about 35 years now. We have always enjoyed our stay. This year we had a bit of a challenge when the Air Conditioning failed. To top it all off it happened to be an unusually hot humid week. The staff did the best they could to help us get comfortable (fans for the rooms), understanding smiles from the staff. It did take a bit of time before we were notified of the issues and the game plan. We shared our frustrations and they agreed that they could have done a better job communicating with us. I did not get the benefit of the new compressor as it was fixed the day after I left. Things happen and we do the best we can, thanks to the staff and management we had a great time in spite of the discomfort. See you next year.

We highly recommend this beautiful resort on Maho bay. We’ve been coming here for years and it never disappoints, we feel ourselves relax as soon as we walk into the lobby that overlooks a large pool and blue ocean. Our unit is always clean and spacious with awesome ocean views. The staff are kind and helpful, the ocean front restaurant mixes up some great frozen drinks for poolside fun. The management team is top notch, timely attending requests to enhance your stay. The Royal islander is located close to the French border so both Marigot and Grand Case are short drives away. There are many restaurants within walking distance of the resort. We look forward to returning as this is truly our place to exhale.

Our recent stay was nothing short of wonderful. We have been owners for many years and love the resort. The grounds and maintenance, housekeeping and security does a wonderful job. The security assisted with my husband who need help with the car. While the AC situation requires some patience, it did not detract from an overall enjoyable vacation. The staff assist us in every possible way. The restaurants are plus.

There is no air conditioning and no hot water. The staff has been gaslighting all week stating that air is being fixed. It has not been fixed. The water is brown and no hot water. Do not come here. We asked to be moved to a higher floor so we could safely open windows at night and were refused. Had to ask multiple times for a fan. I could go on and on but at the end of the day you cannot enjoy a vacation on the island with no air conditioning. Sleeping in this heat is a nightmare. We are here because our friends are owners so we chose not to move and miss our vacation with them.

Not my first stay and definitely will not be my last!! My apartment roomy facility and grounds immaculate!! The staff throughout are warm welcoming and accommodating from the security, which you see everywhere keeping us safe, front desk reception, housekeeping (notified me of valuables I had accidentally left and returned to me by shipping to my home in USA). Ms Nina is a jewel, very knowledgeable regarding the island and concierge with activities and excursions to plan in lobby. The easy access to a large clean pool and hot tub with beach yards away are priceless … very enjoyable for adults and children with kiddie pool. I can’t give enough accolades to Royal Islander La Plage… my home in paradise!! I appreciate your hard work making sure everything is enjoyable for me and my family.

We have stayed at the Royal Islander in Maho for 20 yr. Everything about the Royal Islander is 5 stars. Whether the service, the staff, the location, the food, the views, or the guests, there are no negatives. The upper management is very involved and helpful. Maho itself offers everything you may want all within a few short blocks. Look no further!
