When our driver pulled up to the hotel by a rickety bridge over the river, we were a bit nervous as the hotel looks tiny from the outside. What we thought was the hotel was actually the lobby and the hotel is actually quite large and sprawling with buildings and bungalows scattered next to the river. The hotel has a lovely infinity pool by the river with a lounge chairs, beach towels and an affordable pool bar with snacks for sale. The rooms were spacious with large balconies. The toilet was by the front door so you had to exit the WC walk around the corner to the bathroom to wash your hands - sort of a weird set up, but did help in the morning for 2 people to get ready. This was the only hotel we stayed in with dual sinks and a long vanity so excellent for 2 travelers and a big plus! The shower was a walk in so east access. The hotel also has a restaurant where breakfast (included) is served in the morning. Unfortunately it was a buffet with limited options and the food that was supposed to be hot was always cold and unappetizing. The hotel uses tiny candles to try to keep the food warm but this method does not work at all. The hotel no longer has a shuttle to town which is a negative as you need to walk across a scary rickety bridge to get to town. The hotel does not have a gym which is a requirement, in my opinion, if you want to be a 5 star resort. My only other comment to management is to find a few better English speaking employees as we had difficulty communicating with staff. Yes we know we are in Laos and should learn to speak their language but I feel when you cater to tourists you need a few people in each area to speak the universal language for business. We did enjoy our stay and can recommend this hotel to others.

My partner and I had a wonderful time at Amantaka in December this year. The whole city has just bounced back from the pandemic so I had a little expectation when coming to Luang Prabang this year. However, everything at the resort was exceptional, from the moment we were greeted at the airport, to when we were warmly greeted by the members of staff as we arrive at the moment, and when we left the resort. The property was converted from a historic building but was very well maintained. It has a classic and subtle charm and feels very cosy and intimate. Don't forget to use the Bath House that with a private pool, steamed room and sauna. Thank you Amantaka team for exceptional hospitality and I will be back again!

A wonderful hotel with a private garden, transformed into the residence of the last prince of Laos, making it unforgettable! The price is very high and the service is really warm and sincere! There are many high-end hotels in Luang Prabang, such as the magnificent Avani Amman, but overall, I personally think that this should be the most cost-effective hotel in Luang Prabang, and I will definitely stay here next time

The staff were lovely and always greeted you with a smile. The pool area and gardens were well maintained. The rooms were a little dated and although nothing wrong with them I think I would opt to stay in one of the small hotels or villas along the nam khan next time rather than this little extra out of the centre. Breakfast choices were good with a nice non sugary muesli, milk & yoghurt, nice cafe latte and an egg station plus toast, croissants and Asia stir-fry dishes. They had free bikes you could use, although I didn't see any helmets. As noted, for what we paid it was 'ok'.

It was comfortable with a calm atmosphere because it was conveniently located and away from the main street. I stayed in another area, but I felt that this area had few mosquitoes. We requested and got it through the second floor of the corner room of the annex, but the terrace here was comfortable, and it was good to slow down while watching the life scenery of the neighborhood in one hand at noon. In the morning, you can also visit the bowl from this terrace. The size of the room with luxurious use of trees and stones is sufficient. I think it's only this room, but there is no partition in the shower room, and I use it to make sure that the water doesn't jump to take a bath. It may be for couples or accustomed couples. The hot water was too hot and came out firmly so difficult to adjust. Staff is also English OK. polite and friendly. Breakfast is American style, not buffet. He gave me a naive but polite service. If you say you want to repeat again, it is a guest house of ”YES”.

This is one of the best guest houses I have ever stayed in! It was simply sublime! The location was perfect and serene, our room had a balcony overlooking the Mekong River. The breakfast each morning was beautifully set up right on the banks on the river and the selection was great! The food was so delicious. The true highlight of our stay was the proprietor of the guesthouse, Cuong. He was so helpful and friendly and really went the extra mile to ensure our stay was the most incredible one ever. We received a welcome drink of fresh watermelon juice on arrival and he immediately pulled up a map and marked all the points of interest for us. He would always check in with us everyday to see how we were enjoying our stay but it didn’t feel impersonal, it was like chatting with a friend. He also helped to arrange transport and there were bikes that were free to use for guests. One particularly memorable moment was when we came back from the waterfalls and said to Cuong that we were exhausted from being out in the sun and he arrived to our room a few minutes later with complimentary watermelon juice! It was such a wonderful and unforgettable experience! I highly recommend staying here for the perfect Luang Prabang getaway!

The staff were very friendly and attended to us well. They will try to help you as much as possible, no matter the issue. Top class for customer service. The free breakfast is limited but delicious, and made-to-order. Banana pancakes, coffee, and smoothies are amazing. You can even book tours and taxis from the hotel directly, which is a great convenience. Hotel room is large and spacious. The AC and wifi work flawlessly and are definitely worth having. The location is central enough that it is a nice stroll to the main road and night market, but far enough that you avoid the noise. Great hotel all-in-all. But adjusted for the price, one of the best-valued stays I’ve ever had.

Two-story wooden building, the room is on the second floor. The room is very clean and the bed is very comfortable. The location is next to the Mekong River, within walking distance to Xiangthong Temple, the Royal Palace, Phousi Mountain, night market, charity, cruise ship terminal...the hotel provides ticket booking, one-day tour (very satisfied), exchange, and transportation to the train station, etc. Waiting for service, the front desk English is very good. It should be reminded that if there are ants in the room, the food bags must be sealed well, otherwise there will be more ants. The soundproofing of the room is not very good. Fortunately, the city is not noisy at night, so it is relatively quiet.

Morning alms right at front entrance and right next to Wat Noung- where you can join the 6pm chanting. Negatives - rooms are a little dark, noise from restaurant across can be disturbing, especially with awful karaoke on weekend nights.

This heritage house is well maintained and fully restored with modern amenities. Rooms are very clean, bed and linens are very comfortable, and overall there is a pleasant atmosphere . Nice view in the morning of the Mekong river from the dining area. Staff is friendly and helpful but still a bit junior and could use a bit more experience. I spent 5 very pleasant nights here recently. The location is ideal, on the main street (temples, Royal Palace, restaurants and boutiques). I received a very warm welcome from the cheerful and friendly staff and my upstairs room was very quiet, spacious, clean and comfortable. There was a great view of the river and the mountains. There's no breakfast on site but they provide guests with a coupon for a very high-quality complimentary breakfast at the luxury 3 Nagas Hotel which is about 200m from the View Pavilion. I'm really happy I chose this hotel again, and would happily stay here again if I was coming back to Luang Prabang.

I booked three four-bed rooms. As a result, the room we booked was probably sold to other guests when we arrived late. Booked two for us next to it. There is also a family room on the first floor, which is not the room I booked at all. The next day he said that if there is a room, I will pay directly to come to three deluxe double rooms. After paying the money, only one of them is a deluxe double room. The other two are triple rooms and single rooms. And the price is charged according to the price of the deluxe twin room. The boss said that it was the Chinese New Year that there was no room...If it weren't for the family, I would have left. The main reason is that I forgot to take photos of the baby’s room. The other two rooms booked with me are not of the same grade at all.
