Gay Hotel Villa Roca

Villa Roca was an amazing hotel for us. The team specifically Jaret, Johanna and Carmen were so helpful and went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed to make our stay perfect. The view is amazing and the restaurant is does really good food. We felt very welcome here and would recommend to a friend.

This place is an absolutely delight. The views are dazzling, and the service superior and friendly. I felt completely taken care of in this boutique hotel, and it's convenient to everything Manuel Antonio has to offer. I spent a few hours every day sitting on my balcony writing and taking in the gorgeous view. It seems to cater to very a diverse crowd -- which is exactly the kind of vibe I like. The size of the hotel makes it an intimate experience, and it's easy to meet and hang out with other travelers.

Loved this extraordinary resort!! The views are unbeatable, all of the people are extremely friendly and helpful, the food is excellent and it is close to everything. Monkeys came to visit and try to steal our breakfast, we saw parrots and a huge iguana. We could happily just hang out in the beautiful pool and look at the view and the wildlife. Can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful location and hotel. All rooms are ocean viewing. 3 hot tubs. The staff is wonderful especially front desk staff member Fernando. I was at the hotel in August of 2023 and returned in February of 2024 because of him. He made sure our stay was wonderful. He advised on trips and booked them for us. He even helped with recommendations for other towns like Uvita and helped arrange transportation to ensure everything went smoothly. He is the best.

We had a very nice stay here with delicious meals at the poolside restaurant a very nice Hardy breakfast in the morning oceanfront views, and just a 15 minute walk to the water. The swimming pool was gorgeous. It’s an eternity pool you can see for miles. The sunsets are amazing the cocktails delicious and the service is impeccable, the front desk staff helped me with my luggage, which was extremely helpful and offered many different options for getting to the beaches for massages. great for couples, comfy bed strong Ac nice privacy curtain. We had fun and enjoyed our stay. Would love to come back one day.

Villa Roca is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The best part about it is the staff. All staff members are friendly and accommodating. Fernando and Jarel at the front desk were especially helpful. They were excellent resources for planning activities, making dinner recommendations and reservations, and even with navigating our way around Costa Rica.

My husband and I have stayed at the Villa Roca a number of times but not in the past 6 years. Many things have changed and not in a positive way. We decided to come back to Villa Roca for Christmas and New Years. Before we booked, we researched the property and it was still listed as an LGBTQ+ property and clothing optional. When we arrived, our experience was nothing as we have had in the past. We checked out the website again and any mention of being LGBTQ and clothing optional was completely removed. The front desk staff of Kevin and Geraldo and Carmen the server at the bar were excellent. They were friendly, gracious and accommodating. They were the only saving grace of Villa Roca. The property has not been kept up. Our room was outdated and stark. The bathroom did not work properly. We had to wiggle the toilet each time we flushed so that the tank would fill up and stop. For three days, we did not have hot water. We reported this to Joanna the manager. She said she will take care of getting the hot water resolved; which was resolved for one day then an issue again the next day. She also said she would compensate us for the issue, but neglected to actually do it. Villa Roca is not the same and if you are a past guest, beware. You will be disappointed. We will not recommend Villa Roca to any of our friends who are considering going to Manual Antonio.

We stayed in Room 12 which had the most amazing view; we sat up in the hammock in the morning and relaxed, made our way to the poolside restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are many options in the area but we felt so lucky to have the best food around, 70 steps from our room. The secluded Enchanted Forest with its spa pools allowed us to escape the heat of the day and catch some soothing sounds of the jungle as we read our books and relaxed. We are looking forward to returning next time. Especially to try more items on the amazing menu; both food and drinks.

We really enjoyed the area of Manuel Antonio and this property. It is very unique and beautiful, built into the hills with a stunning view. It was also only a very short (few minute) drive to a beautiful beach. Many great restaurants very close by, as well as the National Park which was beautiful (lots of monkeys and sloths near the beach!) The property was very comfortable and offers and option with continental breakfast which was nice. We enjoyed an awesome ATV tour in the area too. While we were waiting next to our rental car for the tour bus to pick us up, we noticed we had a flat tire. The front desk and maintenance were SO helpful. We left our keys with them and they had it fixed by the time we returned later that day! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful all around. Thanks for a great stay!
