Ryan's River Lodge B&B

Would highly recommend this beautiful B&B. Martha, the owner, was so lovely Rooms were spotlessly clean with very comfy beds and nicely cooked breakfast Everything in Cong is so close we were able to walk from the room to every shop, pub etc even with a walker Front rooms have lovely view of the river. Dont hesitate to book here!

We spent three lovely nights at the Ryan's River Lodge and the warm welcome and treatment we were given made us feel as though we were home. The room was sparkling clean and fresh with a lovely shower that gave no issues but a warm relaxing way to end the day. I had requested the two bedroom room which gave us a twin and a double and did book it direct. The location was superb as Cong is such a walkable town. Across the tiny road is a waterfall and the stream which runs to the lake. Breakfast was enjoyed in a bright and cheerful room shared with other friendly lodgers. We enjoyed homemade brown bread and scones with our hearty Irish breakfast. Choices of fresh fruit, yogurts are available and you complete your breakfast "order" every day on the menu so that it is customized for your wishes. Even though the weather was rainy and cool, we were given a warm welcome by the Ryans!

We came to Cong because we're big fans of movie The Quiet Man with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. We picked Ryan's River Lodge because it was right near The Quiet Man Museum. The owners were wonderful people and took care of us like family! The room was simple in keeping with the beauty and theme of the area, very clean, and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable, and the bedding kept us warm even though the weather was a little chilly at night. The hotel is right across from the most beautiful stream and it was pure joy to be able to walk to everything we wanted to see, but especially to the woods nearby. They were magical! The sounds of the stream/river, the birds, and the colors of the flowers, trees, and mosses were refreshing to our souls. You can even walk to Ashford Castle very easily. You can't go inside, but it's quite a sight to look at from outside. We will always be grateful for our time in Cong, and we would come to Ryan's River Lodge again!

Fantastic B&B in the centre of Cong close to excellent restaurants'. Room overlooked the river, lovely setting. Beds were extremely comfortable. Very clean room, serviced every day. Good EnSuite shower. Not that we used it much during the visit but the TV in the room appeared to have satellite channels. The best is the host Martha, so friendly and easy to talk to. Martha took a keen interest in our visit and gave us recommendations what to do and where to eat. Amazing breakfasts - good variety of choice hot and cold. Even catered for my wife gluten free toast. High quality ingredients used for breakfast. There is also a seperate lounge downstaits next to the breakfast room. Will definitely go back and stay. Just Fantastic All Round.

This must be one of the best B&Bs in Co.Mayo. always a great welcome from Martha. Rooms are super clean with all you need. A great breakfast choice and what an Irish breakfast on offer. We've already booked for next year- there are so many things to do in the sea we never tire of it. Thanks again Martha and David.

Stayed here for 3 nights as we love this B&B in the village. The rooms and bath are always clean and the beds comfortable but the main reason we stay are the hosts feel almost like family and make you feel that way in return The breakfasts are always exceptional with nice choices. You can walk to nearby restaurants and pubs which is also nice when you've had a pint or two. Always our first choice when staying in the area. Martha is the quintessential Irish host.

Several members of our family stayed at Ryans river logde cong a few weeks ago and i could not recommend it highly enough. Bedrooms are simply decorated and spotlessly clean. White linen and foxford throws on very comfortable beds. Breakfast was excellent with great choice, beautifully cooked with quality ingredients. The breakfast room is a beautiful bright light filled room tastefully furnished and decorated as is the communal room. This wonderful family run b&b is well wort a visit.

Ryan's River Lodge is in the most peaceful place you'll ever experience! Our room overlooked the river - It was amazing to open my eyes and see the pair of swans in the water without lifting my head off the pillow...Martha and David are fabulous hosts...Our room was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and just lovely. The breakfasts were amazing - the best scrambled eggs we've ever had. The village of Cong is charming, very walk-able and the pubs and restaurants are wonderful...I would come back and stay here in a heartbeat!
