Perfect hotel to explore the downtown area of Medellin. Really friendly and helpful, huge rooms with hot water, great open shared terrace with great views of the city. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to see the sights downtown but to return to a peaceful cool spot

Great place with a good staff. Very clean, and it's nice having a good restaurant inside. Not a great neighborhood for at night, but the hotel is very safe. Rooms are very clean, and also the bathroom is spotless. Great rest spot. The owner is very pleasant and speaks english...and can tell you the about the places to see.

Short version: food is good, nice staff but don’t go there. We went there 7 years ago and it’s all downhill from there. Long version: Let’s start with the good: -we came here 7 years ago and really enjoyed our stay so we decided to come back -staff is extremely friendly -in house restaurant is affordable and convenient. Good simple food. Open from 7am to 10am and from 1pm to 10pm -spacious with warm decor -rooftop terrasse with scenic view of Medellin -lots of areas to hang out Now onto the bad (read terrible): -there are “windows” in the room, but they open to the common areas or hallways -no ac, if you combine that with the “windows”, it’s warmer in the room than in the hallway. Much, much warmer. It’s like you’re in a sauna. Which means sleep quality is terrible -the plumbing for the showers is in dire need of repairs. The water stays warm for 5 seconds, then is extremely cold for 5 seconds, then repeat… -Smell of mold in the toilet 👍 -one of the staff has a dog. A big dog that’s ALWAYS on site. It would be okay if the dog was nice and calm. But no! It stands in front of you when you try to pass, it barks loudly at the guests. It also sits in the communal sofas, which means that when a guest wants to sit there, he or she is greeted with dog hair and dog smell everywhere. And let’s not forget that the dog defecates on the roof terrasse and said owner doesn’t pick it up. So watch your step! Feces everywhere -neighbourhood has gotten worse. Much worse in the past 7 years. Very rough. I wouldn’t recommend walking alone at night.

The hotel itself was beautiful. The staff were attentive and very friendly, the rooms were clean and simple, and the third floor has a great view of the city. The hotel was a five minute walk from the Metro and from there you could get to most areas of the city. However, the neighborhood of Prado was not one you'd want to walk around after dark. It was close to the city center which was a more business/industrial area than a touristy area. This meant that we could never go for evening walks and we rarely went out to dinner because it would mean taking an Uber there and back. The hotel was located a 20 minute walk or a subway stop away from a lot of the main attractions in the city, so that was a plus, but my boyfriend and I both wished we'd been in an area with more restaurants and cafes.

This is a really excellent place to stay with a great restaurant. Every meal we had was delicious and reasonably priced. We liked it so much we went back for 3 more nights. The staff are very friendly and the beds super comfy.

61 Prado Guesthouse is the perfect combination of comfortable, friendly, affordable and stylish. The service is impeccable, and the restaurant delicious. The beds are eerily comfortable. Make sure to check out the rooftop view of Medellin. The staff were extremely helpful in providing Covid-19 testing information before our flight. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Stayed here 3 times. The place is spotless and lovey, the staff couldn’t be nicer or more helpful, it is an oasis of calm in the centre of Medellin. Very close to the metro and centre. On site restaurant and roof terrace. Very reasonably priced too. Only negative point is that hot water can be limited.

An absolute gem. Our family stayed here while visiting Medellin Colombia. We did not want to stay in the main stream tourist areas. We lucked out . The decor was amazing , the staff were kind and helpful and the small restaurant inside 61 Prado had great food , that was affordable.

This is a quaint European style hotel with excellent potential. The staff is excellent and service is good. They will do all to please you. A little renovation & few additions and you have a true winner. The one downfall is the neighborhood. You feel completely safe in this hotel but I would not venture out on foot in this area, especially at night. Food is above par. I will certainly return again.
