Wayam Mundo Imperial

The Wayam hotel is ideally located for tourism at the well known Colón Ave. near down town, just a couple of blocks away from the new convention center. Rooms are beautiful and wide, very comfortables, just make sure you are not facing the avenue as traffic’s noise comes up. Pool on the 4th floor has a beautiful view but too cold. All personnel is very friendly but still too new and untrained for the hotel standards. Still, too new to be great and a bit overpriced but Management is eager to improve.

The landlord speaks Spanish very well, there is a simple breakfast, there is a swimming pool in the courtyard, and the environment is good, but it is not convenient to travel far away from the place of activity. It is recommended to stay in Merida near the bus company terminal (Terminal de Autobuses ADO CAME and TAME in English), the location is at the intersection of calle70 and calle69. Their streets are arranged in numbers, and the even numbers are north and south. Directional streets and alleys, singular ones are east-western streets and alleys, you can go to all the attractions in Merida, this terminus has a car and it is also close to the bustling city center;

This Intercontinental is rather different from usual. The location is great but was unexpected that it will be just along the noisy street in an ancient building which before used to be another hotel. So it is rather old (in perception not in amenities). The rooms are specific but good and comfortable. We've checked the Hyatt which is right after the corner but that Hyatt is luxury and as everywhere. And this Intercontinental is special - you feel as if you are in colonial times. The hotel is narrow (in corridors).The open door pool is tiny. The breakfast selection is good but not so wide. So general impression is very good. The personnel is very friendly but not so much and good speaking English. So some time we needed in order to adopt ourselves to this experience but generally we are pretty much satisfied. We've stayed here for 8 night so can judge. :-).

The hotel is a very good hotel, and it is a very good hotel for me to stay in Merida. They deliver one towel per guest (the same as they deliver you at reception), and it's the same you will have to use to dry your hands, body, face and even floor, as they don't give you another, And the floor comments because the bathroom does not have a door, and to finish it the bathroom door is not complete, leaving space up and down, so the water goes to the room. But the biggest problem I found is that the room was not fit before they gave it to me. I arrived with my family at 4 pm (the check-in time is at 3 pm), and when we entered there was a towel used in the bed, and in the bathroom a used soap and a half-use shampoo bottle. It's a pity that you do not take into account such an important and obvious detail, I hope you will take into account our comments.
