It's the third time at that hotel, we will keep staying there as the price is quite fair, the location is just great, close to the main bus station, downtown and the main touristic sites. What we like the most of this hotel is the staff, want to mention Javier and Juan Carlos as they are between reception, bellboys and butlers, they are always helpful. Stephany from the front desk was very kind and enthusiastic. Guess they are short staffed withing the housekeeping department as the maintenance people were doing their job... Something simple from taking coffee to a room or even been a bellboy. Just hope they give them an extra for doing other things. Raymundo and Florentino from maintenance were helping us and we appreciate them taking some time to do so. I would rate this quite good, but we had a deception we never had before in this hotel... Our first room was never cleaned or anything when we came back to rest, they changed us to a different one, which we do thank, but housekeeping does need to be on point, details, basics and their checklist has always to be a priority. Also on the night of the 17th something was going on that other guests just made too much noise, till 3-4am, as we woke up many time and couldn't rest... If you read the document which you sign, part of the rules and policies are to please respect other night time, they need to work on this hard. The security guy, which works a lot compared to the normal 8-12hrs is just nuts, he was kind to help us move around and hopefully the security company which they work for see the long hours and good job they provide to this hotel. From the rest there is nothing to complaint about, the overall experience was good, could have been great. Thank you guys once again. Hope to visit you soon!

The hotel is well located. But when I arrived, the receptionist was not there. The security guard who had to be marking the person in charge and taking photos of my reservation was very kind. That is the detail. The receptionist was not there. Fixed by security guard. But in that it failed them. And in my reservation it did not say if it had air conditioning or not. Which I didn't have. Just a fan. The elevator seems to have a turbo. It goes up and down very sharp. Excellent in cleanliness.

The city view room has an incomparable view. Sitting by the window, you can have a panoramic view of Syntagma Square and the Cathedral, and you can have an unobstructed view of the excitement of the Day of the Dead. Although it is an old building, the interior is well maintained. The breakfast in the restaurant on the top floor is okay, and the coffee bar on the first floor can also provide simple meals. The only drawback was that I stayed in a corner room, and the top floor restaurant was upstairs. There was a sound of chairs being dragged around at around 7 o'clock in the morning.

Good service... clean rooms and a very good place... we liked our stay... we couldn't eat because we had to leave early... but everything was fine...

If you are looking for beauty of the old kind, a pleasant stay and a great location. This is the place to go. Although the room we used was small, it was practical and the decoration and lighting extraordinaire. The wedding party Saturday night did not keep us awake, although it could be heard. The service by Mr. Ramón Cobos is commendable. He went out of his way to move out bags in and out of storage as many times as it was needed. Breakfast in the premises are not recommended. Fortunately, there are many great places to eat within a 15 minute walk. We arrived past midnight, the door was opened promptly, before we dispatched the Uber service, and the registration was a breeze. So was check out. Highly recommended, we will be back.

We started our road trip with this hotel for 3 nights and we are not disappointed. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. The only bemol is that for those who like me are of hot chocolate, they don't use it ^^ and they don't have any confectionery, but butter is to be asked. The rooms were very clean, well equipped (TV, dish, toilet, shower, toilet...) Negative points that we noted: It remains quite far from the center and we had to move to Uber for some places, This is not a hotel to choose if you want to walk

We were booked in this hotel by our airline after a very long, hard day. We hadn't eaten since breakfast and had a terribly stressful day of standing for hours and hours in the chaos of the airport during a covid crisis. We thought a ”Hotel Ritz” near the zocolo would offer a nice respite with a good meal before heading back to a rebooked flight in the early morning. But, alas, it was not to be. The staff who greeted us were very nice and professional. But our room was down a long, stark hallway and despite being in an old, historic building, there was zero character inside. The room was functional, though the shower was only lukewarm. When we went to the restaurant, which had all of the charm of a school cafeteria, and gave them our voucher for $600 pesos, they gave us a worn printout with a small selection of meals, then told us only 4 options were available. None were anything we would choose. We had planned to buy drinks with dinner, but they made us sign a receipt saying we had spent all $600 pesos ($30 U.S.) before even serving our food, which would have maybe cost $300 p. tops off a real menu. I ate part of a rubbery piece of chicken with a small wilted salad and my husband had a sandwich on white bread. Afterward, we walked somewhere else for food and drinks, which we should have done to begin with. We passed one other family eating in the hotel and noticed they had McDonalds take-out. Later, we checked their regular menu, which had many options that would have fit easily into the $600p budget. The treatment felt insulting. We had been given taxi vouchers to and from the hotel as well. At reception, we requested they schedule our morning taxi, which they assured us they would do. I got up early to double check with the morning reception that it had been scheduled, and they said yes - it was on its way. The hotel is on a section of street that is pedestrian-only, so we walked our luggage to the nearest spot for auto traffic and waited. The taxi never came. Finally, my husband went back to the hotel to ask for help and was told to call an Uber. It was clear that they had not called the taxi for us, and we lost almost an hour of time getting to the airport because of it. Oh yes, and the elevator buttons do not work. And the walls are extremely thin. Someone had sick kids nearby and the screaming and coughing echoed loudly through the halls all night. We could hear every flush and every conversation in that corridor. Most MX hotels have solid brick and stucco walls that block sound, but not this one. The Centro area is wonderful, and worth staying in for a night or two, but I recommend the Best Western Hotel Majestic. We stayed in a suite there at the beginning of our trip and our giant room was beautiful, overlooking the zocolo and the staff were great. The rate was good, too. The Novotel Mexico City Centro Histórico is a new hotel. Its newness shows in any number of ways, both good and bad. First the good: Staff were all friendly. And my room was shiny new and free of signs of wear. Everything in the room worked perfectly. It is true that the room was rather small and that the view was mostly of a blank wall. Since I was by myself and did not spend much time in the room during the day, these latter issues didn’t bother me very much. There were, however, some issues that were also perhaps related to the hotel’s newness. The cleaning staff didn’t empty the wastebasket on the first day and didn’t replenish the Nespresso pods on the second. Perhaps they should start working from a checklist … ? Also, breakfast was only available half an hour later than advertised. And, oddly, only certain guests were offered omelettes. And, as someone who doesn’t eat meat, I was bothered by a cheese-and-luncheon-meat plate on which the cheese and luncheon meat were piled on top of each other. I would also have appreciated labels on the four stew-like dishes on offer—I couldn’t tell what they contained. There is also the issue of billing. When I checked in at 3 p.m., I was asked to pay the entire bill—no problem there. But, when I arrived in my room, I found an e-mail from hotel management informing me that, because the hotel was extra busy, I’d already been charged for day 1. It’s true that I’d opted for a “flexible” rate which required me to agree to pay for the first day whether I showed up or not, but it was a little startling to be charged for a no-show before the earliest possible check-in time—and then charged again when I checked in. It took a week for the double charge to disappear from my credit-card statement. I can’t believe Accor would have approved of this billing procedure. The thing that most bothered me about the hotel was the absence of a minibar. The TripAdvisor website—and also the websites of several booking agencies—all claim that rooms in the Novotel Mexico City Centro Histórico have minibars. The Accor website, I’ll admit, doesn’t. But I guess I’ve come to expect that hotels of a certain class would have minibars. And I missed having one, not for overpriced drinks, but for the groceries I bought. I wasn’t, in other words, very enthusiastic about the Novotel Mexico City Centro Histórico, although I acknowledge that, with a few changes, it could most definitely be turned into a very good hotel.
