"The Brunswick House B&B is perfectly situated in Middleton-in Teesdale. There are plenty of places nearby to eat or grab a drink. The location is rich with history, and used to be in the heart of Middleton. Our host, Andrew, made us feel comfortable upon arrival. The rooms are clean with all of the proper amenities - coffee, tea, fruit and fresh milk. Andrew provided us with an excellent packed lunch for our long hike the following day. We appreciated the sandwiches, salad, fruit and banana bread."

"A lovely traditional country house hotel. The public rooms were just what you expected, old world charm, the food excellent but the best asset  was the friendly and helpful staff. Unable to comment on bedrooms as we were in an accessible room which wasn’t great, good parking though. Needs attention to basic customer requirements, overall a great few days"

"We had a lovely stay at the Tan Hill Inn — the location is absolutely stunning, and the atmosphere in the pub was warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. We especially loved the cozy open fires in the pub area, which added a real charm to the experience. The beer selection was also great — plenty of variety and well-kept. Our room, however, had a couple of downsides. The floor was unfortunately quite dirty — we had to keep our shoes on while inside. Also, while the room had a fire burner, it was bio-fuelled and didn’t provide any actual heat — more of a short-lived visual effect. That said, the room itself had excellent temperature-controlled heating, which made up for it to some extent. Overall, a unique and memorable place with great character — just a bit of room for improvement on cleanliness and room heating experience."

"What a little gem ! Could not fault this hotel at all. Beautifully presented bedroom, lounge and dining room. Well appointed bedroom with so many features that would put a large hotel to shame. The owner Andrew clearly loves what he does even bakes biscuits for the room. The Teesdale breakfast was amazing. So many choices for breakfast. Andrew even bakes cakes for you to have. During our stay we had Ginger bread and also Banana and Walnut loaf, what an absolute treat. It is evident to see why the hotel has one many accolades. Andrew, again, thank you!"
