I am writing this review to save other families the major disappointment that we encountered by making a reservation at Mollymook Caravan Park. On booking, we advised staff that we had a large caravan (23ft plus drawbar). On arrival, we were taken aback by the state of our allocated powered site. Overgrown grass and an unsecured fence at the back, mud at the front, and a huge pile of concrete blocks and building waste directly in front of the site (see photos). We immediately contacted office staff, and were offered to take a look around the park and choose another site- of which the only other site to fit our van was the site next to the one we were on, and was in the same unsightly condition. Walking around the park, we were again shocked at the difference between what is portrayed on the website, to what we were seeing. Sites unkept, overgrown gardens, bathrooms in poor condition, permanent onsite vans in a very rundown state. Again, we contacted the office to speak with the manager, however we were told he would not take calls of complaint, and would only respond to emails. With no suitable site for us to stay on, we made the decision to leave. Unfortunately, this was easier said then done, as it was extremely difficult to navigate our van out of the park with the tight corners and narrow roads. We were later told by office staff when we phoned to complain, that we should have exited the van park by driving the wrong direction up a one way street. We wrote an email to the manager requesting a refund. To this date, (18 days later) we have contacted Mollymook Caravan Park three times, and written an additional email- we are yet to be contacted by the manager. Office staff fielding the calls have stated our requests for a response by close of business (11 days after initial email sent) to be unreasonable, and state our claims and concerns to be unjustified, but will not a provide rationale for this answer. We have been left with no other option but to lodge a complaint through Department of Fair Trading. In six years of travelling with a caravan, this is the first negative review I have ever given. I hope this review will make families consider staying elsewhere if they are visiting the south coast area.
