Lawns Hotel

I would give it 0 stars if I could. Our shower broke and water was shooting in the air, our room flooded and there was mud everywhere from the maintenance guy. They didn’t give us a new room, took ages to clean the room, didn’t offer a refund or complimentary drink while we waited. They also almost charged us 10x the room fee via the credit card machine and would have if I hadn’t noticed it. Very poor service.

We had the opportunity to stay at the Lawns Hotel for two separate nights on September 23, 2023, and September 26, 2023. The ambiance of the place was just as tranquil as we initially expected, and its proximity to the center of Lushoto (just a few minutes' drive) struck a perfect balance between convenience and a sense of isolation. The hotel itself offers cozy amenities that contributed to a comfortable and pleasant stay. However, beyond the positive aspects of the accommodations, we would like to highlight the exceptional hospitality extended to us by the owner, Alex. His warm welcome and attentive service were noteworthy. During our stay, we encountered a situation where our taxi driver failed to show up to take us to the bus station at 5:30 in the morning. In this challenging moment, Alex went above and beyond to ensure our well-being. He personally took care of us and arranged an alternative transportation method to ensure we reached the bus station safely and on time. This level of commi**ent and hospitality from Alex was truly appreciated and left a lasting impression. In reflecting on our experience at the Lawns Hotel, we are genuinely grateful for Alex's kindness and the exceptional service he provided during a challenging situation. It is instances like these that define the true character of a place and its owner. We sincerely appreciate the hospitality extended to us by Alex and the Lawns Hotel.

3 nights away from the heat and bustle of the plains, Lushoto town is unspoilt and no hassle for tourists, wonderful setting as is this old hotel as break away from “ normality “. The rooms are clean and comfortable, good hot showers and nice seating areas. The food basic but tasty and a nice variation each night. The pool is a lovely place to relax after hiking . A nice bar area with good selection of drinks and reasonable speed Wi-Fi . The staff are all friendly and helpful. Would happily stay here again if in the area.

We stayed in one of the rooms with own fire place. It was very nice, clean and comfortable. The service was good, the food was simple but good. The pool area is nice and relaxing. The owner is an Italian guy who grew up in Tanzania. You can book hiking trips right there at the hotel, which are well organized. In the evening you can relax in front of the fire place, which is cool. The staff is very friendly.

Nice hotel to relax. Good old style. Very helpful and kind personal and management. Nice pool and garden. The room was a little bit dark but very clean. Good selection for having, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

This is a lovely place with outstanding breakfast and superfriendly staff. Rooms are nice and clean. You can have a fire in your room if you want. Pool is suberb (cold). Lushoto is nice for hiking and a beautiful nice place with friendly people

We had an excellent stay. Good location, friendly and professional staff, tasty and fairly priced food. We had a super walk with Charles of Eco Tours. A big issue for all three nights was aggressively loud music from a small kiosk by the perimeter of the property. If you are in one of the rooms closest to the town it's not great. Very, very loud at times in the afternoon, and late into the night every night we stayed. A real shame - the management need to find a way to stop this spoiling the stay of the guests in these rooms.

Such a cozy experience to be in Lawns Hotel. Despite the weather being up and down, we really enjoyed our stay. The room wherever stayed was beautiful and large and has a historic appearance. The breakfast is lovely with local cheeses and jams and delicious organic coffee. And the big big plus, there is a swimming pool! It is just wonderful to be in the pool, surrounded by all the green trees and mountains around. We also enjoyed a nice excursion to a waterfall and the children loved to play around in the garden. We totally enjoyed our stay!

I had a great stay at the Lawns Hotel. The staff is very professional and friendly, the location is outstanding and the room is nice. Lunch and dinner are available for affordable prices directly at the Lawns. The only point to be improved, in my opinion, is the availability of WiFi only in the lounge area. Extending it to the rooms would be a nice benefit.
