Friendly staff, solid location, decent WiFi and generally clean and has the basics down. Better for sightseeing than for those staying in, I think. Quick things to note: they don't allow late checkouts, just fyi, but otherwise you just drop your keys in a box to check out. The vending machines are also located in an open area, which is nice for when I visited but could become an issue if it's raining... The balconies are really nice, and the location is insanely convenient. It's about 10ish minutes to walk to the aquarium, and it's a block (or half, if you go out the back!) to the waterfront. There's solid food and sightseeing options here too. They do have a decent parking lot, but there's a ton you can see in Monterey by walking, and this hotel is perfect for a lot of those. What's missing here: a common dining area and breakfast, for one. Rooms aren't cramped but most furnishing is basic. Don't expect anything fancy, essentially. All that said, it's a solid choice if you're actually going out and sightseeing vs spending tons of time here. And if you do, they have some pretty nice patios and some rooms have balconies overlooking a trail.

I love the location of the Inn and the staff is great. I notice they are redoing all the rooms. Our room was clean and neat, but the walls were empty and there were only overhead lights, no bedside lamps or soft lighting. Amenities like these would make it feel warmer. Were in the room next to the laundry. Could hear the dryer timers doing off and there were often laundry carts in the hallway. Still had a great time but probably wouldn't stay in that room next time.

The hotel/motel has a view of garbage & homeless people sleeping right outside your window. The beds were not comfortable at all. The manager was not understanding or customer friendly. I would not recommend this place to stay with your family.

It is super close to walk to the beach, we are talking right across the street for beach access! Property is older and has some age, but for the access to the beach and free parking you can not beat the price

The pros: Very close to Cannery Row and Aquarium. Room was very clean with 6 usb outlets and 5 additional outlets in room. Keurig, microwave,fridge with nice big tv with Dish. Heater/Ac worked fine. The cons: shower pressure was low. Beds were a bit lopsided to lay on without rolling to one side and pillows a bit too high for my neck. The great: front desk staff very friendly and efficiently quick. Elevator takes you from parking lot in back up to your floor, no need to take steps.

Location was good. The hotel lobby was tiny but there was a courtyard area to sit outside. The room was very clean and everything worked: tv, fireplace, frig. The room was a good size. The bathroom was tiny and the bathroom vanity was very small. The staff? Helpful and polite. Parking was convenient and covered.

Room next to main road into town, traffic noise all night. Asked for a delux room with fireplace, the fireplace did not work.

The bed we had at this property was the worst bed I’ve ever slept in. I’m not picky on beds and can sleep on nearly any bed…. Not this one! The springs were digging in no matter where I slept in the bed. We stayed in a King Deluxe room, it was AWFUL! Run or else you’ll have a backache for the next couple of days

Couldn’t be happier with our stay here. Clean & tidy with easy walking access to the beach & Cannery Row. Definitely recommend!!

Located in a great area, easy to walk to the main attractions in town. The room was big and spacious but lacking in a lot of things. There was only 1 lamp on one side of the bed and it had no lampshade. The other side of the bed had no lamp at all. There were no decorations or paintings on the walls, the room felt bare. The bathroom was really nice. But the room itself was lackluster.

We enjoyed our stay here.... perfectly located walking distance to just about everywhere!!

Great location, the property could definitely use some updating. The room was large, the furniture dated but bed very comfortable. The bathroom is adequate. The only real issue was the upholstered chair in the room, it was very stained and also had a rip where you the stuffing is coming out. Not sure why the management would not just take that chair out better to not have a chair than a gross one.

Great location, conveniently located next to beach, restaurants, and shops. Friendly and accommodating staff. Clean and quiet rooms.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The place doesn’t look like much from the outside, but inside the rooms were very clean and spacious. Could use some updating, but nothing that I found to be problematic. For the price, this was a really good deal/ safe, quiet and comfortable. I would stay here again.
