Strawberry Duck Moscow - Hostel

This is the second year in a row that we have chosen this hostel! The location is just perfect and the rooms are spacious with large beds. The toilet and shower are nearby and there is enough space for everyone. I especially recommend it for groups.

We have stayed at this hostel twice. It was always clean and pleasant. Prices here are very affordable. The staff is polite and available 24/7, which is especially convenient for those with late flights. I definitely recommend this hostel!

In mid-July, we booked two places in a women's 8-bed room. What we liked: - cleanliness and order in the room, toilet and shared kitchen - incredibly soft mattress and pillow, you fall asleep instantly - security in the room (entrance with individual cards) - they provide a towel for everyone for the guest - the capsule has a lamp, shelves for personal belongings and a power outlet, the curtains close tightly, there was no noise from the street, and the girls in the room did not make noise - there is an opportunity to leave things at the reception if you arrived before check-in time. What I didn’t like, but did not affect but the general impression: - first we settled in another - shared room, and payment was also made in accordance with the cost of a place in another room. (in the end, we managed to resolve this issue, and we were moved to the correct room, the overpayment was returned)

Great hostel, very beautiful inside. In the basement there is a large kitchen and several living rooms, very a**ospheric. We didn't cook, but we saw that the kitchen was well equipped. And there is a bean coffee machine with card payment - that's great!! There were quite a lot of people, but everything was very cultural. The beds are comfortable. The coolest thing is the location. About 15 minutes walk to Nikolskaya Street or Kitay-Gorod, and in general you can walk everywhere in the center. The metro is also nearby, within 10 minutes, in my opinion, 5 different stations. A couple of minutes away are very busy city streets with cafes and bars - Pokrovka, Maroseyka and Myasnitskaya. The staff was polite. I was surprised to see the latest negative reviews here. Be that as it may, everything was great during our stay.

During the entire four days that I stayed in the hostel, they never screwed a light bulb into my bedside lamp. In the shower room there is a thick layer of some kind of snot, spit and dried I-don’t-even-want-to-think-what on the walls. It was only on the third day that we managed to obtain the closing documents: at first they assured me that this was impossible. Then it turned out that it was possible, but there was no person who knew how to do it. After ten minutes of arguing, the guy behind the counter gave up and I got the dockets, but the next day. The guys behind the counter are absolutely unfriendly. In response to “Good morning” they just look at you in silence. I'm not even saying that in response to my requests to finally screw in the damn light bulb, they just silently wrote something down somewhere, instead of just finally giving me the lamp so that I could screw it in myself. As for the “rules” of the hostel, for two days a bunch of people were drinking and screaming furiously in the common area. Once they almost came to a fight, but no one was going to calm the raging ducks. Probably because 80% of the time the administrator smokes on the street, and if you decide to go out, they will let you out the door at the fifth ring or at the first cry of “STOP SMOKING, OPEN THE DOOR!” Of the three taps, one does not work, one is leaking, the third has only hot water. The window in the shower is broken and does not close all the way. Washing in a room with a centimeter gap on the street in October would be a bad idea, but I don’t envy those who will come here in a month. Next time I would prefer to spend the night at the station, the level of service will be about the same.

Beautiful hostel design, absolutely cool location in my favorite part of the city. For this place, in my opinion, the common areas (bathrooms) are very ascetic. The bed was soft and smelled delicious. Why I’m unlikely to stay again: stuffiness and smell in the rooms. Overall, not a bad place.

Very dirty. You can feel the unpleasant smell right from the entrance and you’re scared to go any further. The kitchen in the basement is very dirty. The showers are terrible and dirty, as is the toilet. I don't recommend it. They don’t warn you about the presence of a cat, although I have allergies and in general it’s worth writing about it

In general, I had terrible impressions of this place: alcohol, *****, unsanitary conditions, crazy “administrators”. I will never go back there again. I lived in this hostel for a long time, until I encountered the “administrator” (if you can call this person that) named Tatyana Aleksandrovna Ozyarnaya. A man who has absolutely no principles and does not respect the chain of command shouted at me with obscenities, trying to kick me out of this hostel for no reason. In her words: “I have the right to throw you out the door for no reason, I just didn’t like you.” I had to call the police, since the person was completely insane. She threw a tantrum, did not accept payment, in response to my requests to finally influence the cleaning of rooms and bathrooms, she answered: “here is a book of complaints, write what you want, I’m not interested.” All conversations were recorded on my voice recorder and, fortunately, the guests We also witnessed this hostel and were in complete shock. I repeat, terrible impressions of this place
