We rented a cabana from Hidden Haven on February 27th for one night on May 11th. David Green asked that we pay his friend through PayPal "but send it to friend so we don't get charged extra." we paid a 50% deposit on Feb 28th. I also communicated with him on May 3rd. On May 10th, on the same email string, I sent him "Hi David, we are staying at Hidden Haven Saturday night. We'd like to leave our car at noon while we go to Nohoch Che'en for the afternoon. PLMK if that is okay. " His response was "Sorry di not know who you booked with but we aare closed at the moment sorry." [his typos] I wrote back " No, I paid you through PayPal. Check your records. We have emailed several times." His response was "Sorry, we had a fall-out with BTB, and they have temporarily closed us. They are saying they will fine us bz 10,000 if we take any guests. So sorry. This has just happened." He did refund my money promptly, but he did not act in an ethical manner. I was able to find another hotel room quickly, but he should have notified all upcoming guests immediately, not try to say "I don't know who you booked with."

I stayed at Hidden Haven during a recent trip to visit Mayan sites. Excellent accommodations, beautiful setting with pool, bar, superb cooking and nicely furnished cabins. Extremely clean and close to many Mayan sites. I would highly recommend it.

I had an amazing time with the hosts Elaine and David green, lovely cabana, comfy and spacious, good food cooked by jack and the use of the wondeful pool, I would highly recommend, it’s a great place for a relaxing holiday with nature all around,

The cabin was very spacious, well equipped kitchen area, comfortable bed, good wifi, great balcony overlooking the forest. Having a swimming pool was a bonus, nature trails through the forest on the property was a lovely surprise. The food by Jack on site was delicious and he makes a good Rhum punch. David made sure we got our tour set up and is a hummingbird master with feeders everywhere providing great viewing of their antics on our balcony. Other people in the van to take us tubing said they wished they'd known about this beautiful place.

We found Hidden Haven by chance, looking for a one night get away to combine with paperwork in the city lol! We will definitely be back! Lovely property, amazing bird watching right away…..we saw many parrots from our deck upon checking in! Cabin was extremely clean, lovely hot water and good shower! Got an excellent home cooked meal at a very fair price from Jack, played some pool, and admired the sparkling clean pool, although we didn’t have time this time to enjoy it! Next time!

Hidden Haven lives up to its name. David kindly organized wonderful day tours for us, and we were picked up onsite. If you don't have a car, there are buses and shared taxis that run frequently into San Ignacio. The cabanas were fine with a kitchenette, Wi-Fi was great and the pool was refreshing. Jack's hospitality was amazing, not to mention his culinary skills (and his rum punch).

A nice, private, pretty location not far of the highway. Easy to fine with good signage. The family running the place is very nice and offered lots of good tips for area activities. There is a nice pool and bar/restaurant on site. Meals were available on request. I stayed in one the private cabins. Wifi was excellent. The cabin was equipped with a kitchenette and A/C. It had a good shower and comfortable bed. You do get noise from the highway, but this peters out by 8:00pm. There are many dogs in the neighborhood and some nights there was a lot of barking through the night. The location is excellent for exploring the area. Tours will pick one up right at Hidden Haven. I would stay here again.

Wonderful location. Well named. Only a 5 min detour from the highway but secluded and safe. Surrounded by rainforest trees and an abundance of birds. I stayed there for 2 short visits and stayed in 2 different bungalows, one of which has a deck on the back that makes for great birdwatching. Very comfortable. Surprisingly low price. The owners/hosts/chefs were attentive and friendly.
