Great location in area of significant history and has heaps of choices for food lovers. The front rooms are noisy at night due to the hustle and bustle of the area. But it quietens down by midnight. You don’t need an alarm as the harmony of the dump truck doing it’s morning cleanup will awaken you to the new day. The breakfast is just ok and I’d suggest eating out at any number of the nearby pastry & coffee shops. The rooms are well serviced and always clean. There is no aircond despite advertising it (due to commune rules they said?). The lift to the hotel (3rd level) is tiny and tricky to use, & wouldn’t pass a safety inspection if they’re ever carried out. The ammenities listed should be taken lightly as they’re somewhat overrated, but as a basic place to stay it’s ok.

Small hotel a few steps from one of the main streets in the historic centre of Naples (originally the Greek settlement of Nea Polis 'new city') -- great location for tons of restaurants and historically significant architectural highlights. The metro (Dante stop) is 10 minutes walk, and it takes 10 minutes from there to Piazza Garibaldi. The hotel is small and quite comfortable, clean and well kept, though the bathrooms could do with an update (I stayed in two different rooms and in both the shower mounting didn't function and the shower fell to the floor and could only be used by hand). The bed was huge and firm, there are blackout curtains (essential for summer) and the airconditioning worked efficiently (it was 38 degrees during the day, 28 at night so aircon was a must). The staff were friendly and helpful and booked a fixed price taxi to the airport on departure (thus avoiding taxi ripoffs). The breakfast was typical Italian/continental buffet, but got a bit boring after a week of the same food on offer (no cooked breakfast is available). Note that the hotel is at the back of a small piazzetta off the Via Francesco del Giudice (which has no vehicle access) and can be hard to find, especially at night when the area is closed off by large doors and the hotel entrance is unmarked. Recommended for a comfortable stay in the centre of Naples.

I stayed twice at the Hoel Neapolis, once before my hiking trip with a group and once at the end of the trip so I could make a side trip to Pompeii. The first stay, I had a double room and the second time I had a single room. The single room was quite small, but since I was out most of the day it didn't really matter. Rooms were clean, the staff were helpful and the breakfast ample. They had a variety of breads, cereals, fruit juices, meats, yogurt, and cheeses. The first night, I had a room that faced a street and it was a bit noisy with singing and loud conversations. During my second stay, my room faced the courtyard and it was very quiet. It was difficult to find initially, since the cab driver at the train station dropped me at the wrong place. During my second stay, the cab driver had no difficulty finding the hotel. The hotel is located in the old part of Naples, and within walking distance of many attractions.

The friendliness of the staff, the willingness to help out in whatever question I had.

Great place to stay while in Naples !

Lifesavers! We missed our checkin at another hotel and the good people here accommodated us for the night. They held our bags all the next day. Everyone we interacted with on property was kind, caring, and did everything they could to help. The facilities were good enough and they are located close to ferries.

A parte la posizione strategica, ma rumorosa, non ha nulla di positivo. Esperienza da cancellare! Camera singola ridottissima da non avere lo spazio x aprire la valigia. Più un sottoscala che camera. Bagno indecente, con scarico doccia non funzionante. Pareti della camera sporchissime tanto che ho dovuto scostare il letto per riuscire a dormire! Finestra come se non ci fosse stata, tanto rumore si sentiva dall'esterno. Colazione con prodotti scadenti, a parte il caffè...prezzo alto x la qualità della struttura. Proprio non ci siamo!

Unica nota positiva: la posizione, in pieno centro storico di Napoli ( via dei tribunali) con la possibilità di raggiungere in pochi minuti anche a piedi i principali centri di interesse, e con la fermata metro Dante a pochi minuti. Per il resto zero. Per salire al piano esiste un ascensore "sgarrupato", con l'ansia ogni volta che si prende, che si possa bloccare. La pulizia della camera non viene effettuata, almeno giornalmente ( ho trovato in terra dietro al comodino, un sacchetto di plastica,forse di crackers, che non era mio,quindi di uno dei precedenti clienti).ho lasciato di proposito una carta per terra,ed è rimasta sempre lì. Polvere alta sui comodini e sul resto dei mobili. Frigo bar assolutamente vuoto. Il cambio della biancheria del bagno idem come la pulizia. Abbiamo dovuto richiedere il cambio della biancheria usata, e il ritiro della sporca che era rimasta a terra o nel bidet ( che quindi non era stato pulito). Non tutti i giorni viene svuotato il cestino dello sporco. In bagno non esistono appendini per gli asciugamani, né un porta spazzolino. Abbiamo dovuto chiedere alla reception le saponette. La colazione è pessima. Non ci sono i "tradizionali dolci napoletani" come scritto nella presentazione di TripAdvisor ( non c'è per altro neppure il PC a disposizione come dice sempre TripAdvisor, ma non importa. Comunque non scriverlo). Di salato non c'è quasi niente. Di dolci qualche biscotto e cornetti immangiabili. Anche le bevande pessime ( dal cappuccino ai succhi di frutta che sono acqua colorata..probabilmente sono i succhi del supermercato allungati con acqua) , tant'è che dopo due volte siamo andati a fare colazione al bar sottostante, nonostante la colazione fosse compresa nel prezzo. Il prezzo è quindi assolutamente caro risoetto a quanto offerto.

La posizione centralissima nel cuore del centro storico di Napoli è l'unico punto a favore. Per il resto ( camera, servizi, colazione) decisamente scarsi rispetto al prezzo richiesto. ( Non fanno nemmeno il cambio giornaliero della biancheria da bagno e non svuotano nemmeno il cestino ). Inoltre, su TripAdvisor viene indicato che le camere dispongono di PC a disposizione del cliente, e che a colazione ci sono i dolci della tradizione fatti in casa ( pastiera ecc.) . Non ho trovato niente di tutto ciò.

La posizione dell'hotel è comodissima, vicino a via dei Tribunali dove ci sono moltissime pizzerie e trattorie tipiche. Il personale è cordiale e gentile. Le camere sono pulite e silenziose; il letto molto comodo. Il prezzo del soggiorno è veramente molto conveniente. Il bagno è un po' fatiscente, ma nell'insieme è stata un'ottima esperienza

Napoli è bella. La sto riscoprendo ora. E va vista, da tutto il mondo. Ma è davvero più piacevole se la si rivedesse da un balcone aperto sulla sua antichità o da un posto dove si sia ben riposati la notte, tra servizi efficienti e spazi confortevoli. E , soprattutto, ben “ serviti” da un personale gentile e capace. Se poi, questo luogo, è pure gestito da due fratelli belli nella loro specificità e nella fratellanza, pienamente napoletani, Marco e Lello, uno economista di nuova cultura liberal- umanista, l’altro filosofo a tutto pensiero, vi renderete subito conto di trovarvi all’hotel Neapolis. È piccolo e grazioso, posto accanto al campanile più antico di Napoli e su una della piazzette belle e particolari, che dolcemente si apre sulla lunga via dei Tribunali. Tra poco andrò via per tornare nella mia Calabria. Ma non vedo l’ora di tornare. Qui. A rivedere Napoli ed essere toccato dalla sua magia. Ché non è per nulla vero il detto antico “ vedi Napoli e poi muori”. In questa Città si vive, a vita nuova. Franco
