My mom had been coming to nyc for the first time and we stayed in avid for 21 nights. I had called 2 weeks earlier and asked the front desk if me and my sisters can check in early before my mom arrived at night (reservation was under her name ) , they said yes you just need to send us an email with your information, which I did. I called again to get the email, they said oh that’s not our policy you need to just come in but we need to charge her for one night. We agreed and instead of charging her for one night they attempted to take the full amount. I called to complain about that and they said oh we apologize our mistake and they took the right amount. When my sisters arrived at the hotel they took my sisters card and charged her the full amount even though I had again called beforehand to make sure if anyone will be charged and they said they would only charge my moms card once she arrived. When I called back and was by now super angry the lady kept pushing back and then she finally said okay we will refund your sister when mom arrives. And then after all that the hotel smelled really bad the rooms didn’t have any wardrobes or cupboards. Breakfast was really bad and the gym was too small. As well as we asked if we can screen cast anything, repeatedly the front desk said “sure we’ll get someone to come up and fix it” he never came and then when he finally came on our last 2 nights he said oh we can’t do screen casting because it doesn’t even work yet. I don’t know that I’ve ever stayed in a hotel with such incompetence and misinformation and mismanagement.
