"Located on an active street market, just getting to the hotel is a buzz. Once inside a clean reception with attentive staff ease the surprise. The rooms are slightly larger than your typical city bijou. The included breakfast was nice and varied, continental with a couple of English twists. Cooked eggs offered in many variations added to the mix. Plus points. My room had a lovely city view and the location? The heart of a very active city. I"

"The location of the hotel is quite good — it’s within walking distance from Kyoto Station, and there’s both a Fresco supermarket and a Family Mart nearby, which is very convenient. The area is quiet, and even though the hotel is right on the main road, you don’t hear any traffic noise. The staff are extremely kind and helpful, always ready to assist with anything needed. The hotel has coin-operated laundry machines, which is a big plus for travelers. The rooms are fairly spacious and, like the entire hotel, very well maintained, nicely furnished, and spotlessly clean. I especially appreciated the in-room espresso machine, the large safe box, and the double choice of pillows(soft and firm). The fitness room is new, though I didn’t have the chance to try the traditional Japanese bath. Breakfast is a good buffet, not extremely varied but satisfying, and the dining area is well organized with plenty of tables that are cleaned with disinfectant spray after each use. If I had to point out a small downside, I’d say the air conditioning vent could use more frequent cleaning to avoid visible dust buildup, which can be uncomfortable for people with allergies like me. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable and convenient stay in Kyoto."

"Honestly, I'm not entirely sure about the 4.5-star rating. This hotel is split into a main building and an annex. The front desk, main reception facilities, self-service laundry, and vending machines are all located in the main building, while the annex is an awkward 100-meter walk away. What's more, I visited during a heatwave, which made the experience quite unpleasant. It's about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto JR Station, but there's a large 7-Eleven right across the street, which makes up for the lack of other amenities in the immediate vicinity. Despite all these points, I still gave it a 4.5-star rating because it was incredibly affordable – just over 200 RMB per night, and for that price, an extra ten minutes of walking wasn't a big deal. Hotels within 100-300 meters of JR Station typically start from 500-600 RMB, so this place was an absolute steal! Just a heads-up: if the price goes up, it probably won't be worth choosing anymore."

"The location is great, just a 10-minute walk to Hanami-koji and a 15-minute walk to Yasaka Shrine. The surrounding area is also quite nice. The room wasn't large, but it had everything you needed. The space was well planned and the details were well thought out. Cleanliness was very high."

"In the Kyoto area, a per-person, per-night accommodation fee is charged separately upon arrival at the hotel. This hotel is part of the long-established Marriott brand. The rooms are on the smaller side but fully equipped. Thumbs up for the facial treatment kit – everything was clearly arranged (1/2/3/4). The bath salts were even made into effervescent tablets – a brilliant touch!"

"The house is consistent with the pictures on the website, very quiet and comfortable. Although it is decorated and run by Chinese people, it still has a strong Japanese-style lifestyle. My travel plan is to travel slowly in Japan, staying in one place for a few days, half a day to play and half a day to rest, and going to the big supermarket to buy food by myself. It is both a tour and an in-depth experience of local life. This kind of house is very suitable. The current operator is Chinese, so it is easy to contact and communicate, especially for those who are traveling independently in Japan for the first time. If you don’t understand something, you can always communicate with the owner. The house is very close to the Shichijo subway. When I went there, I got off at Kyoto Station and walked a long way. On the way back, I got on the Shichijo subway and transferred to Osaka. It was very convenient."

"Minn Gion Kamogawa Experience: Excellent Location, Value for Money I made the right choice staying at this hotel in Kyoto! The location is impeccable—right next to the flower path, right next to the Kamogawa River, and close to Sanjo. It's incredibly convenient for commuting, visiting attractions, and shopping. You can explore so much of Kyoto on foot—a true dream for those who want to spend their leisure time. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, especially the triple and quad rooms. They're spacious and comfortable for a group. The rooms come with a refrigerator and microwave, making them very convenient for daily use. The washer-dryer on the first floor is also very practical, costing around 500-700 yen and easy to use, making it perfect for short stays. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and worry-free. One minor drawback is that they don't provide cleaning or trash removal within seven days. It's a bit like a self-service B&B. It's comfortable for a one- or two-day stay, but longer stays might require more effort, and extra cleaning will cost extra. But overall, the price is very reasonable, and considering the location, space and convenience, the cost-effectiveness is really high. It is worth considering visiting Kyoto!"
