The Sitwell Arms Hotel

Stayed in four poster bed as we was ungraded. Was very comfortable. Staff was friendly. Food was delicious both evening meal and breakfast. On the downside the hotel is dated..in need of modernisation in certain areas. Not much to do in the area.

The staff was very welcoming an polite northing to much trouble. The hotel was very clean an an so much space to relax. The rooms where very clean an spacious. Every thing you needed was on hand. The food what can I say wow it was amazing very hot ,good choice an plenty of it . The outside of the hotel had so much ground an gardens to sit or walk around spoilt for choice. We went with a gift voucher an was treated the same as everyone else no different. We would like to say a special Thank You to Nicky as I had voucher wasn’t sure how to use it an she talked me through it . 🙂. Would we go again yes most definitely an would recommend this place to any. Thank you . 🙂👏.

Just a bit of a confused place ! Staff mostly friendly but I’m not sure it knows what it wants to be! Modern bedrooms but the rest of the place decoratively busy with old fashioned bars and restaurant and the garden grounds could do with a little more love and attention. On the day and evening we attended there was both a wedding fair and an Ibiza sunset event. We went for a dinner bed and breakfast - supplements on a lot of the menu choice leaving only one or two choices without additional payment. Also very little nearby without transport

We had a one night stay in room 17 last night, a 3 course meal, stay and breakfast. We both had a lovely time. The meal was excellent, served with a smile and warmth by a young waiter in the restaurant. Can't fault anything with the food, which we selected from a good menu. Breakfast this morning was the same quality and we left the hotel very satisfied with the service too. The room was very spacious, jacuzzi bath, 4 poster bed, tea and coffee making facilities. 3 comfy chairs in the room too. A desk if you had work to do with a TV on wall you could watch in bed or from the chair. My only criticisms of the room was lack of plugs near the bed, only one bedside table and perhaps the bathroom could do with a bit of fresh sealant in places. Room was a little dark even with lights on. My partner is 5 foot tall so the mirror in room was too high for her to use. None of these small things effected our stay but its feedback which would enhance anyone's stay.

We got married on 28th May 2024 and the wedding was perfect from start to finish. We were made to feel excited right from checking in the previous evening and the ceremony room was setup ready for our big day to allow us to add our finishing touches. Everything you could wish for can be catered for including an on site salon, a partnering decor company for your wedding decor and on site accommodation. The day ran smoothy and the staff both in the run up and on the day made you feel at ease. I would recommend to any couple wishing to get married and create memories to last a lifetime. Such an amazing weekend spent at The Sitwell Arms Renishaw to renew our wedding vows. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. Everything was so well organised and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were so helpful the food was beautiful everything was so clean and well presented. We couldn’t fault any part of the whole weekend would highly recommend this place we will definitely be using them again!!

Brilliant stay, the staff were all so very kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotless and comfortable. As for the food, the only trouble I had was choosing what to eat from such a delicious menu. Can't fault anything, which is unusual for me.

Nice welcome at reception. Great food, with good choice for the 3 course included dinner. Bedroom recently decorated, although shower needs attention. Think that new wardrobes and cupboards look nice, but will easily be marking as no place for putting hot drinks despite providing teas/coffees and kettle. Also room was extremely hot, even when all windows opened for whole stay. No fan available in room.Bed appears new, however is too low, even for one of us who is only 4ft 11inch tall.

We booked a 1 night stay here, using a voucher that I had purchased for my partner as a gift, when we checked it, it was made clear by the receptionist that we had used a voucher, this made us feel uncomfortable due to his attitude towards us, like we were having a free stay or something, we still paid for the voucher and had to pay £10 on arrival as a booking fee! The room was simply terrible. It felt dirty, hadn’t been hoovered and there were moth’s flying around the room. The bed was awful, ready for the tip, could feel every spring and it was on a slant, we placed a drink of the bed side cabinet and it slid off. We were visiting to go hiking in the Peak District, unfortunately after a terrible night sleep we had to leave in the morning and drive home due to being exhausted. Breakfast was not nice, cold and the restaurant was dated, and again felt dirty. Very limited choice, stated there was pastries and croissants however when we asked where they were we were told there are non. We asked to speak to someone when we checked out but our views were not listened to, I emailed on return and received no reply. Please do not waste your money staying here, this hotel ruined are break away and I would hate for it to do the same to someone else. If anything good can come out of stay it would be to warn others not to make our mistake. I wish I had of read the reviews before booking as it’s clear others have had the same issues as us, yet the staff looked shocked when we voiced our views on check out. Avoid!!
