It had a kind of rustic unpretentious charm about it while at the same time offering considerable comfort. Single room (with ensuite) contained a large comfortable bed along with comfortable chairs and even a bench at which to work on (or table). During my visit to Orbost itself, hospitality or assistance was not found in abundance, when visiting, so this place was like a little haven. The bathroom was of a good size.

On arrival, the exterior did look a bit 'shabby' but once inside the room there were 2 beds that were very comfortable and the room was very clean. The pillows were especially soft and lovely. The wifi was 'hit and miss'.. but that wasn't an issue. The restaurant was gorgeous with a fabulous view of the river. The food was as good as it gets. Unfortunately there was no breakfast available. No coffee or any food available. The restaurant and lounge areas were locked and only open during the 2 hour mealtimes. This wasn't relayed on the website which boasts the beautiful area as available for all guests. Our room had no balcony and we found it very disappointing we couldn't utilize the living area and have a drink/coffee etc.
