Bentley's Boutique Hotel; Best Western Premier Collection

My wife and I have been here previous, had great times up until May 2024. NOW there's a mall cop chasing people who spent good money staying at the Mainland resort starting at 9:30 PM and ending at 10. This never happened before, I'm not coming back, I will go elsewhere where adults are not treated like children, the people I've spoken to feel the same, why come back when we're all professionals. Unbelievable for a resort that's not that busy!

This is a very comfortable, convenient hotel, but the best part is Chef Rolf's restaurant! Ohhhhh! Fabulous, freshly cooked food at reasonable prices. I used to come to Sarasota to visit my sister, and we would eat at Chef Rolf's restaurant. Now that we are staying here, we can enjoy his food all day long. Tonight's special was prime rib, seved with a fabulous salad, mashed potatoes, and roasted asparagus, all for $25. Yes, the room is fine--large and comfortable. The bathroom has nice toiletries and linens, and the hotel is very convenient, but let's talk about the brioche French toast for breakfast. And tomorrow, Chef Rolf is making roasted oysters for us for dinner. If you ard staying elsewhere, you must come here to eat!

An impromptu business trip to Florida ended up needing accommodations for four nights. The General Manager Mo was so excellent, he was courteous and very thoughtful. We were given a poolside room that was quiet and clean. It was recently renovated, so the room was tiled throughout, not carpet like many others in the area. The front desk was very friendly and provided what we needed every time; from towels to bottled water, we were taken care of. The rates for our room were competitive, and we felt safe and comfortable in the location, not to mention free parking was provided. We did not have a chance to DINE in the hotel; however, there is a chef, and his name is placed on the sign outside the hotel; this tells me they are very confident they will impress with meals. We will certainly be back soon!!

67 in our group from Wales were looked after perfectly by all the staff here. Great breakfast , and a lovely function room at our disposal for the evening. Marvellous variety of breakfast dishes available too. Server Natasha in only her first week working here was attentive and helpful and deserves a special mention.

When attempting to cancel my booking, they refused to refund any of my money even though it was one month away. I understand the policy is 60 days, but life doesn't cooperate with a corporate policy. I booked through my company benefits website, which apparently utilized a lower rate that cannot be refunded. I am out $1300 dollars. This is theft and should be illegal. Do not book with this trash.

This is a very dated property and is a trip back in time, with mini-split A/C-Heat, Low ceilings, very old room/bathroom configuration etc. The hallways are particularly strange with round low ceilings. It reminds me of a hotel in the 1950s or so, and it might have been a Howard Johnson's. Others have commented about musky odor. The carpets seem badly stained or worn in places. As I stated above, this property is difficult in a place where there are not really alternative accommodations, except maybe VRBO and the like. I suspect that the location is not popular or profitable enough to justify what needs to be done, which is the property should be razed, and a new property, e.g. Hampton Inn should be built. I probably would/will stay here again as it is the only choice in this location which is convenient for my trips to Osprey, Florida, and some renovations are planned, carpet, furniture, etc. according to front staff. I slept ok and it was comfortable enough. The staff was variable, some very good, others were acceptable. However the property is too worn and out of date to be upgraded adequately, so I think one star is justified. Certainly not underpriced in my opinion.

BEWARE! BED BUGS! My friend and I spent one night at this resort in November 2023. We traveled to the resort from different cities and in different vehicles, and met there. We checked in, had dinner at the resort, spent the night and checked out the next day. We traveled separately, in our own vehicles, back to our own cities/homes. Exactly three days later, we were both covered in bed bug bites. I myself had over twenty different areas of multiple bites, which matched exactly the pattern that bed bugs leave on your skin. I had approximately 100 bites. I contacted the resort as soon as I realized what the bites were and that they had occurred in their hotel room. The resort manager, and myself had multiple correspondences. The manager was also corresponding with the CEO of the resort, Shawn Kaleta. 16 days after returning home, and after 16 days of horrible discomfort from 100 bed bug bites, I found a live bed bug in my home, that I brought from my stay at Casey Key Resorts Mainland. The resort sent their pest control company to my home, confirmed that the bug that I found was a live bed bug (which obviously came from my stay at their resort) and they agreed to pay to have my home treated, due to their negligence in keeping their resort free of bed bugs. Two days later, I was informed that the CEO, Shawn Kaleta, had changed his mind and decided not to pay for the trea**ent my home needed, because of my stay at his resort. I was also informed by Mo, a guest services manager at the resort, that they didn't have their pest control company come out to do an official inspection of their hotel until 11/27 & 11/28, which was 10 days after I made them aware of their bed bug infestation. On a side note, our hotel room had an extreme odor of mold and/or mildew. The resort manager, Chris Charles, did end up refunding us for our stay, without us even asking for a refund. The refund we were given, without asking for it, is obvious proof that they know of their severe problems with bed bugs and mold/mildew. I have since paid out $700 in bed bug trea**ent at my home, and still need to pay for additional follow-up trea**ents because of this resorts negligence, and them failing to provide their customers with safe and clean rooms. The pest control company that I hired stated to me that with the amount of bites that I had, the resort most certainly knows that they have a severe bed bug infestation. Research bed bugs - like I've had to do since this horrifying situation occurred - and you will never risk this happening to you and your loved ones. This has been an absolute nigh**are for me, and I've written this review because I don't want to see this happen to other families.

Don’t take a chance with your hard earned money. If you want quiet and relaxation, go someplace else. There was Loud partying going on for three days and three nights that we actually stayed, and left three days early without a refund because it was so bad. Drunks yelling and fighting in the hallway. Drunks banging on the walls and cursing next door. Horrible loud music by the pool. Manager was condescending and incompetent when asked for a refund so we could leave this hideous “Resort”. Seriously, do not waste your money.

The rating given to this establishment is not reflective of what we experienced. I reported the shower drain not working, the coffee maker did not work, and the drapery slots did not twist open to let any sunlight in. They took care of the drain. Because they had not replaced the coffee maker in the room, we went to get coffee in the lobby the next day, and that was broken. We went to fill our Yeti with ice on the way out, and the ice machine was also not working. As we were leaving, I expressed our dissatisfaction to the counter person. She took my name, cell number, and email and let me know the manager would be reaching out. We have not heard from anyone.
