The Inn is a charming property with historical past. First and foremost the staff was a delight and made you feel at home and appreciated. They were all great and attentive. A special shout out to Michael at the front desk. The property is stunning with wonderful gardens that provide for a nice stroll, grass lawns for relaxing in adorondike chair overlooking the water. All of the main public rooms overlooked the water. Our room reservation included breakfast so we enjoyed well prepared meals in the dinning room with views of the water. While there we also enjoyed a family dinner which provided a delightful meal and great service. We enjoyed a historical tour of the property and St Michaels as well as a sail boat tour of the area and a competitive family bocci ball tournament. Did I mention service. When one of the staff saw the family playing bocci ball she came to the court and provided sun screen, water as well as umbrellas. Although the Inn is walking distance to town and all of the restaurants, the Inn has several BMW's that are available to transport the guest to and from town. Our room was a water view room with deck and chairs. The room was spacious, bed comfortable with nice linen, fluffy towels bathrobes along with a Nespresso and room safe. Turn down service was offered with yummy bed time cookies.

The grounds are gorgeous, the activities plentiful, but it just isn't worth the cost. Our water-front room (06) had several issues. Our wardrobe closet doors closed with a series of eerie creaks, our bed joined in the creaky chorus with every movement! The bathroom was the height of inconvenience with a pedestal sink. I brought a suitcase into the bathroom so my cosmetics bag wouldn't have to rest atop the toilet. The deep soaking tub had a glass shower pane covering about a third of the tub, so yes, there was some water on the floor with every shower. Breakfast was not crazy priced and was good. In general the food offerings were tasty, including the daily packet of cookies provided with the nightly turndown service. Every day at 5 pm there is a champaign toast offered by the flag, a wonderful experience. The pool is large and well maintained, with mallard ducks sometimes stopping in to see who might be eating something! They were hoping for a handout. The gardens include herbs and salad greens used in the restaurants. The Inn is an experience, a very pricey experience.

This is our third time here in the last year and a half. This time we also brought the inlaws and celebrated my son's birthday. It is always just so beautiful and relaxing and the people are wonderful and the ground and inside are well taken care of. It is like coming to your friend's very elaborate home. Can't say enough good things. The waffles at breakfast are also a highlight

I was SO excited to finally be heading to the Inn at Perry Cabin, but the experience was a complete letdown. I received a text that afternoon saying my request for early checkin couldn’t be honored due to high occupancy. “Good for them!”, I thought. At checkin I was told they couldn’t upgrade our room due to high occupancy - ok, but odd since I hadn’t asked for an upgrade. Walking around that afternoon we were puzzled as to where everyone was since we didn’t see any other guests and asked a staff member if there was a private event somewhere that had everyone involved. They told us the hotel was at 30% occupancy (later confirmed by management.) So why proactively lie about that? Walking into the room I noticed a few pieces of trash on the floor and was concerned that it hadn’t been properly cleaned. That didn’t seem to be the case, but it didn’t set a good tone. We opted for dinner in the restaurant as we’d heard good things. We started out as the only table, ordered from the price fix menu ($125/person for 3 courses - appetizer, entree, desert - no ala cart option) and (one of their lowest priced) bottles of wine. The oyster soup was wonderful, but my steak came overcooked and I had a hard time getting anyone’s attention (there were now 3 other tables of 2 in the restaurant). By the time someone came to check on us my husband was done eating and it seemed tedious to have them cook another steak (I had nibbled at the crispy little veggies that garnished the plate and dollop of pureed potato that was under the steak). Price fix isn’t great for us since hubby never eats dessert, but Blueberry Lemon Smith Island Cake sounded nice. It was VERY pretty with tiny flowers, etc. clustered on top, but it was served unfrosted and the entire exterior was stale. I broke through the outside to try a few interior bites. It was ok. They took $60 off for the steak that I couldn’t eat, but I was hungry after paying almost $400 for dinner. High for a cup of soup and a stale but pretty piece of cake. The grounds were lovely and the bed was cozy, but those are the only things I can say were great. I’ve waited to post this review because I filled out guest survey and wanted to give their management an opportunity to address the issues. I received an email saying that “leadership had addressed my concerns with the staff” and a phone call to review our experience (there were a few other issues, but these are the highlights) and was told that they would like to know when we return so they can “send an appetizer to our table” and/or upgrade our room, but honestly, having already given them $1,000 of our money, I’m just not feeling it.

I really wanted to love the Inn because I heard so many wonderful things about it over the years. Overall, I don’t think the service and accommodation match the price. The location is beautiful, but the rooms show wear and tear (also first floor room had lots of noise so ask for high floor room away from main area). The service is inconsistent—welcoming and efficient at the front desk and valet, slow at the bar and at the restaurant. Hard to justify the cost but understand some like me will want to give it a try because of its reputation.

I planned a milestone birthday celebration for June 2024 at Inn at Perry Cabin. We booked a block of rooms for 2 nights (9 rooms). We spoke to management several times about the event . We notified guests of the date and some guests planned other travel around this date and the location. Three months later, in working to coordinate with a boat captain to plan a boat ride for the party, that vendor told us to double check with the hotel. The hotel had canceled our rooms and not even bothered to notify us. I’m not sure when we would have figured it out. They got a buyout of the hotel for a wedding or an event and canceled our rooms and didn’t even tell us. Terrible experience and terrible customer service.

Avoid this hotel, fraudulent room descriptions at best, at worst they are actively swapping less expensive rooms for pricier ones to pump up their bottom line. Upon check-in to my room, I found that the 550-700 sq ft junior suite with partial water view and private balcony had turned into a ground floor 450 sq ft deluxe water view room with full water view and shared terrace (room 5). Realizing the room didn’t match the description on the web site, I went to the front desk to request being moved to the room I had booked and paid for. Front desk staff insisted it was indeed a junior suite even though it didn’t come close to matching the room description they provided when I booked. Upon again requesting to be moved to an actual junior suite, a service manger was summoned who showed me to room #16 which was obviously another 450 sq ft deluxe water view room. Exactly the same size as #5 but with a private balcony. The manager insisted that this was also a junior suite even though it also did not match the description and further stating that they had no other rooms to offer since the hotel was fully booked. Basically take it or leave it. This being an anniversary trip, already having moved my spouse once, and they hotel pre-charging the full amount when it was booked, the room was begrudgingly accepted. Obviously they had over-booked the junior suites and instead of being up-front and admitting their mistake, both staff and managers misrepresented the room multiple times and tried to pass off two different, less-expensive rooms as junior suites. They didn’t even offer to refund the difference in price. They could have easily offerd to refund the difference in room price or some other equally valued incentive, but they did not. They preferred to hope I wouldn’t notice. Staff and management too readily misrepresent the situation leading one to believe this is not a one-off occurrence. Considering how little they think of their customers, I will definitely not be returning to this property.

This review is only about the restaurant on the premise, Star. First, dinner there is a pre-fix for $125 each. Maybe a little expensive, but not a bad price, if you can find what you want. We returned for breakfast and that is where the problem began. We were the only ones seated, given menus, then nothing - not even water. Another couple came in, received menus, water, coffee, and had their order taken. When we motioned to the waitress, she indicated she would be right with us. Eight minutes later, still nothing. We left. This is very sad, as we were married at the Inn and looking for a wonderful weekend of remembering our wedding. Unfortunately, the Inn is not what it was. For the prices and its reputation, one should be able to expect excellent service. Quite a disappointment.
