The Barcelo was ok as far as the guests, friendly visitors
The room was filthy hair all over the bathroom clumps of hair in the hot tub, disgusting & unacceptable
The makeup mirror was ripped out of the wall & hanging by one screw, ready to fall & smash at any time.
When brought to the front desk attention, they did nothing!

The staff was excellent in all areas with the exception of the restaurants. Location is very convenient to shops and restaurants. Transportation (taxi) is always available. The buffet food that is available is decent but the specialty restaurants need to improve. The quality of food is sub par for what they advertise. The service in the restaurants needs work, 2 out of 3 we went to was poor service. Our best meals were in town. Personally I wish the wine quality was better. The drinks besides the wine are very good. Overall Aruba has a lot to offer, the taxi’s, stores, excursions and restaurants outside of the resort were amazing. Everyone was really pleasent, loved what they do and where they lived and it showed. We would definitely consider going to Aruba again.

Food is terrible. It the same food menu every day. No body lotion or conditioner in the room. Nosy toilet. People go the beach at 5 AM to get a space under the palm tree. It's a two stars hotel not more. Don't go there!

Barcelo a slice of paradise for sure. Highly recommend to all. Very clean, safe, and staff are super nice. Will be coming back next year

I would not stay here again - the staff was lovely and the location is great but everything else needs improvement.
3 outstanding people: Chef Clarence was accommodating to my allergies one night when I attended the buffet. Host Edgar went to another restaurant to get me chocolate ice cream:) Sever Nasha, spoke to the kitchen to ensure my allergies were accommodated at a specialty dinner.
The room was clean and well appointed with comfy beds/llinens. The body wash and shampoo are yuck, NO conditioner and NO lotion provided. these are basics for a dry island like Aruba.
The beach: not enough shade! People wake up too early (4-5am) to get a palapa. The hotel needs to build more palapas or purchase umbrellas to provide their guests with. The pool area is the same issue. Not enough loungers or shade at the pool.
The food: extremely repetitive. Basically the same offerings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. The quality is good especially the fish - very fresh. All food is imported which can be challenging but the hotel should be able to get more fruit varieties- especially berries. Pasta station at lunch and dinner could be far improved by adding chopped meats and veggies similar to the morning omelet station allowing people to design their own meal instead of 3 sauces and pasta - boring. Desserts are minimal - great if you are on a diet, lol. Finally, they need a coffee shop to provide snacks and coffee all day.
They say 5 star - I say 3.5.

I had a bit of mold and peeling paint in my room. I believe they need some better ventilation, but the staff was nice throughout my stay (shout out to Keanu!) and the food was good as well. The location is excellent. Close to nightlife and shopping.

All the staff was very happy and helpful. Sandra in particular was helpful when I had to change rooms due to a problem with my tub. But very efficient
