Nivia Born Boutique Hotel

We stayed here 4 nights . Great location for our Palma City break . Nicely situated on the Born . Easy access to the shopping , the port and the old town . The staff encountered had a perfect balance of friendliness and professionalism, and that’s everyone from the first encounter at reception right through to the staff servicing the rooms . The decor is pretty cool , the rooms modern and contemporary , offering a massive bed , walk in shower and whirlpool bath . A nice touch was the bed turndown service with chocolates left every day . Breakfast was excellent , bright and cheerful room , a choice of inside or external seating , an extensive menu , mix and match anything to your hearts content ! Then order more if you wish, all table service , cooked to order , nothing was too much trouble for the staff . We also had lunch on the roof terrace one day , stunning view of the Cathedral . The 24 euro fixed price menu was excellent . The Hotel’s Director is visible every day and obviously wants her guests to feel welcome, speaking to everyone at some point . On our last day we left our luggage at noon and wandered off , the hotel arranged for a taxi to arrive at 3pm for our transfer to the airport . Hotel staff took our bags down to the taxi .. can’t ask for more . We will not hesitate to return here !

A first visit to this hotel - fabulously well placed in the centre of Palma on the Main Street with fashion boutiques opposite. It is a small hotel which is nice but has lovely terraces at the 7th floor breakfast especially and a lively terrace for dinner or drinks on the roof. We stayed in a suite which had a small winter garden which was very nice. Staff were lovely and happy and genuinely so. Can highly recommend to explore the beautiful city of Palma de Mallorca.

Definitely not a 5 star hotel. Staff is seriously lacking of people skills. Everything is forced; from the first hello to the last goodbye. The location is great, but everything else is not worth the money. Rooms are clean, but very small. There is barely enough space to open your suitcase. Our room (Red junior suite) was really dark, it had no balcony and a view on a back alley. It smelled like humidity. I understand, it's a boutique hotel, but still far away from 5 star. Breakfast was served. You had to ask for everything even for glass of water which you got served with rolling eyes of staff and thrown on the table. Dishes were very basic. Eggs with brown salad, half rotten fruits, hard bread and pastries. The ordered dishes were often forgotten and you had to ask again and again. Service was slow and staff was clearly unhappy with the presence of guests. Considering breakfast costs 25 eur per person, do yourself a favor and go someplace else. If you come with a car, don’t try to get to the hotel by it. Just park in the nearest parking garage (30 eur/day) and go to the hotel by feet (10 min walk). Overall hotel is no more than 3* and definitely not worth paying 300 eur or more per night. I highly recommend looking for alternative accommodations in the area. it’s simply not a good value for the money. Save yourself the disappointment and go someplace else.

The hotel really lived up to its name, as it was indeed boutique, unusual and ideal for a mini-break or weekend away in Palma. The staff were very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything a traveller would expect. The roof terrace was a great place to have a drink and enjoy the views over the city towards the Cathedral, which was in easy walking distance, as was the marina, many of the excellent restaurants and eateries for breakfast lunch or dinner. We would definitely stay again and would recommend the hotel to family and friends for short or long stays.

Hotel was nice on arrival but we went to find the roof top bar on the first night and there is a place at the roof with a few table and chairs, but no staff or anything else associated with a bar. The next morning we went for breakfast and we were disappointed once again the fried eggs were cremated, my wife ordered eggs Benedict, the poached eggs were undercooked watery mess, the waiter assured us this is the way they are meant to be. It’s not. She took it back to the kitchen to try again. This time the egg was like a bullet. We had paid for breakfast for 5 days after the first day we never returned. Do yourself a favour go elsewhere for breakfast if you decide to stay here. They do supply bathrobes but they have been shrunk at some point and are only the size for children now. You can make your own mind up if you decide to go ahead and stay here.

Our travel agent booked us into this hotel on a recommendation and so we didn't really know what to expect. Upon first glance when we were dropped off round the back the hotel is deceptively understated, but once you get inside you are so warmly greeted by the receptionist. In our case the wonderful Angel who really was an Angel. He took us and other guests up in the lift to the reception for check in and was systematically supporting the person checking people in by taking us to our rooms and making sure we had everything we needed. There were a number of people all checking in at the same time so that made us welcome with some ice tea which was served by a waiter. Our room was just outstanding. We were in the Princess Suite which had an indoor balcony which was very quiet when closed, but gave you a sense of being amongst it when open. A huge bed. Great shower. Mini bar was well stocked. Little fridge and everything you could need. We ate on the hotel roof top terrace at breakfast and enjoyed almost everything on the breakfast menu. Service was prompt, extremely polite and delicious. What a view of the cathedral and the sea, you really felt special up there. Located really well smack bang in the middle of everything. Close to the sea, the shops, the cathedral, two really nice bars/restaurants directly opposite the hotel which gave you a fantastic view of the front of the hotel which looked as amazing as the inside. We had a fantastic stay in Palma, enjoyed everything we saw particularly the cathedral, the beach and the markets. We at in a beautiful square called Plaza de la Llotja where there were numerous restaurants and around the backstreets in that area were lots lots more good looking eateries, too many for us to try. The only negative I could find for the hotel room was the fact that the only English speaking option on the TV was the BBC news but thats not the hotels fault :) It would have been nice to have been able to add English subtitles to some of the other channels. When we checked out of the hotel we were able to wait in one of the three terraces for our taxi to arrive and out on the terrace were numerous plugs to charge up phones etc which was vital so close to the end of the day. Free and fast wifi which managed FaceTime perfectly. All the staff of this beautiful hotel were amazing during our stay. Everyone we came across was so pleasant, warm, helpful and were a credit to the hotel. If we ever go back to Palma, there is only one place that we will stay. Thank you Nivia Born.

Wonderful boutique hotel, service is excellent, rooms very nice and clean, excellent very central location, you feel like home, wonderful rooftop terrace where you can have breakfast or enjoy an afternoon drink. I can highly recommend the room category "Cozy"! Since I visited this hotel for the first time, I always stay there when I am in Palma. The staff is very friendly and very helpful.

We received a lovely welcome when we arrived, the staff are just wonderful. The rooms are immaculate with everything you need for a short stay. The location is ideal as in the middle of the boutique shops and good restaurants, and it's only a short walk to the cathedral. I really couldn't find any negatives and would definitely stay again.
