Best Western Nouvel Orléans Montparnasse

Booked this as bed and breakfast. Unfortunately, I have to significantly down grade as the bed was awful. We booked a family room as travelling with 5 year old and 9 year old. One bed had a lovely mattress the second was a pull out sofa with broken foot end. This was uplifted by sofa cushions. It was squeaky and wobbly, generally felt unsafe. My husband slept on it and I shared the other bed with the children. My husbands feet were lower than the rest of him. This meant poor sleep for all of us. This affected all of our mood during the trip. We raised the bed situation twice and staff showed no concern. They clearly knew already. We also had raising damp patches after a shower. Again raised it and told someone would look at it bit I don't believe they did. Avoid room 107. It was a real shame because otherwise the hotel was good. The room had WiFi, flat screen TV, shower gel and body lotion, hair dryer and coffee machine. No kettle or iron. Spiral stair case and working lift. Red black and white paris theme. Great location. Street Hotel is on has a good range of restaurants, lush, clothing shops, chocolate shops. Metro opposite and just a block up. We were able to visit all over Paris jncluding disney land, palace of versaille, Eiffel tower, notre dame, parc de villette and Charles de gualle airport. Breakfast included: boiled and scrambled eggs, sausages, pancake, chocolate du pain, croissants, corn flakes, coco pops, fresh fruit and fresh juice, yoghurts and coffee. We ate well. It is a shame we have had to down grade the hotel. We can usually make do where ever we end up but this was particularly poor especially of a hotel chain. Hotel needs to remove this as a bed option or replace it. We will not be returning or recommending.

Hotel Sophie Germain

Paris|0.37km from Au Verre Siffleur
This is the first time I write a negative review about a hotel I’ve stayed at, most importantly due to the poor service. We were charged the same rate for two rooms that were of a very different standard. My sister and I were given a room that was so small and claustrophobic that our luggage didn’t fit. While some might argue that all Paris hotels are small, the inadequate design of this room made it very uncomfortable. My mom’s room was slightly better, but it had a bathtub instead of a standing shower which makes me question how considerate the hotel is in terms of accessibility. Thankfully, a kind lady at reception moved my sister and I to a bigger room on the fourth floor. This was very much appreciated by us, however, the floor and our room smelled of smoke everyday. Our showers were freezing in the midst of winter which left us feeling unwell. When we reported it to reception, we were told that this was due to a large number of residents showering at the same time which should not happen when customers are paying for a comfortable stay. However, I would have been understanding if this was an isolated incident, but we unfortunately had freezing showers throughout our entire stay! Many of the staff’s responses to complaints reiterate that hotels in Paris are small, however, this is not a complaint about amenities as much as it is about service and treatment of customers. Some staff members were particularly dismissive and condescending. Had these issues been addressed appropriately, I would not be leaving this review, but I do not appreciate how we were treated and would not recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Paris.

Parc Hotel

Paris|0.38km from Au Verre Siffleur
Hi, This review is not specific to Hotel Parc but in general about hotels in Paris. I have experienced this with two hotels in Paris. Incident One with Parc Hotel Paris. I went to the Hotel Parc. I have made a booking for a room through booking.com. For payment, I presented a credit card to the hotel receptionist. The hotel receptionist told me that the payment is declined. I presented him with another card, even for this card, the receptionist told me that the payment is declined. The next day I saw the hotel had charged me twice on the same credit card which was supposedly declining the payment. One charge was made at the same time when this receptionist told me the payment is declined. I had asked them to refund my money. They declined to refund saying it is the cancellation fee. Now, this is about another hotel. I checked in the evening, made a payment through a credit card. The payment was successful. The next morning this hotel charged me again on the same credit card for the same amount. I checked it with the hotel. The hotel receptionist said that he did it because he thought I have not made the payment. This guy did not bother to check before charging. Its more than a week I have not received my refund. The hotel is very defensive saying that they have refunded and I should check with your bank and it is now my problem. I felt the hotels in Paris are in general unprofessional and crooks. I have visited more than 15 countries but I have never come across such behaviour from the hotels. I will never visit Paris again, nor I will suggest anyone visit this city. Even someone wants to visit it, I will suggest them to be careful with the hotels.

We recently stayed in this hotel as we were having renovations in our apartment. The first thing we noticed was the natural and warm professionalism of the lady on the front desk. Some people are just perfect for working with the public, and it was the case here. Always a natural smile, and ready to help or answer any queries without any hesitation. There is no lift in the hotel, and the stairs are very narrow, which made it a bit complicated with a large suitcase. The lady on the desk offered to help, but we managed. The room was newly renovated, and it was quite small, but this is par for the course in Paris. It had a window to a charming courtyard which was so incredibly quiet, we were able to sleep with the window open without any problems. The sliding door on the bathroom was quite a surprise but we soon got used to it. It was the first time we had stayed in a hotel where there was already a good, strong fan in the room upon our arrival, which was necessary as it was quite warm. The lady who was working in the breakfast room sometimes seemed a bit overwhelmed, especially on our last day, when it was very busy and she was working alone. The gentleman on the front desk as we were leaving was very friendly and professional too. All in all I would like to thank to thank the staff for their warm welcome and help. Keep up the good work ;)

Participating in the French Financial Payment Exhibition, which is relatively close to the exhibition hall. The price is also relatively affordable. The exhibition will be our reference hotel every year in the future. Hope the price is more favorable.
Hotel Max

My wife and I were delighted by our recent stay at the Max Hotel and wish to thank all those who made our brief stay in Paris so memorable. The Max Hotel is conveniently situared on a relatively quiet, tree lined avenue with nearby amenities, including cafes. From the hotel it was an enjoyable, forty five minute walk to the Louvre and Pompadue centre, the objectives of our visit The Max Hotel is a boutique hotel with individual charm and character.  We chose a deluxe room which provided sufficient space for our two night stay. The furniture is simple yet very stylish .  The double bed was very comfortable with a thick, firm mattress and high quality, cotton sheets. The room walls were clad with a vynle material which was very effective in reducing the level of noise, which, together with an almost silent but very effective air conditioning system, povided for two very comfortable and undisturbed nights sleep. The room and bathroom were very clean and fresh and high quality, organic bathroom products were provided. The reception staff are charming and helpful which added to the enjoyment of our stay at the Max hotel. Super buffet breakfast with high quality and fresh produce. If I should ever pass through Paris again I would undoubtedly stay at the Max hotel and I have no hesitation of recommending it to others.
