An Excellent Hotel with a Caring Host! We are very happy with our choice! The mattresses are high-quality, we slept wonderfully after a long trip to Sri-Lanka. The terrace is simply our favorite spot! Special thanks to the host for handling a non-standard situation: we originally booked 2 nights, but after the first night, our plans changed. We wanted to explore further into the island and then return to the same hotel 10 days later. The host was very accommodating: he seamlessly split our booking into two parts (the first night and the later night), which was extremely convenient and cost-effective for us. Moreover, he gave us excellent advice on the travel route around the island. What can be improved: neighbour's dog was a little bit noisy in the evening. We greatly appreciate the flexibility and hospitality! I definitely recommend this place.

Great place to stay. Staff were very good and helpful. The breakfast was good. Room size was spacious and it was great to have a choice of AC or calling fan. Great to having a working smart TB too. Choice of minibar options was perfect and at reasonable cost. Pool area was clean and well maintained. Would stay here again.

A green hotel, very close to the sea, and the view from the room is amazing. 1) Breakfast wasn't very tasty, and the food at the hotel wasn't particularly good. 2) The rooms are very spacious and have everything you need. 3) Parking is available right across from the hotel. 4) You exit the hotel, turn right, and walk along the road where you'll find restaurants, cafes, and shops. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to a good restaurant, which is fine overall; you can enjoy a stroll. 5) There's a volleyball court inside the hotel, and we played a game. Overall, it's good, but the hotel itself isn't new. If you're staying for 2-3 days, it's a great option, but for a week, it's probably better to choose another place.

We initially booked this hotel for just one night before continuing our journey through Sri Lanka, but as soon as we stepped into the room, we immediately extended our stay for another night! 😊 We're traveling as a family with a 2-year-old child, so comfort and convenience are especially important to us. We received a very warm welcome upon arrival, and check-in was quick and smooth before we were shown to our room. From the first moment, it was clear—they truly care about their guests here. The room turned out to be incredibly cozy and spacious: two separate bedrooms, and a private kitchen with a refrigerator—perfect for traveling with a toddler. The room has absolutely everything you need: toiletries, dishes, frying pans, a pot, and cutlery. We particularly appreciate the four air conditioners, which kept the room perfectly cool and comfortable on a hot day. We had been traveling for a week and had accumulated a lot of laundry. The hotel staff kindly offered to wash our clothes for free, right there at the hotel. And when a drying issue arose, they quickly bought a floor drying rack for us, also completely free of charge! This level of care and customer focus is truly rare. A huge thank you to the entire team for the warm welcome, assistance, and attention to detail! We will definitely be back on our way home ❤️

The hotel is conveniently located and offers good value for the price. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming; however, they appeared to be insufficiently trained, which at times affected efficiency and service quality. Room cleanliness was acceptable but could be improved. In addition, the sliding door lock to the balcony was broken, which may pose a potential safety concern and should be addressed promptly. Overall, this hotel may be a reasonable option for budget-conscious travelers who prioritize location over higher service standards and room condition.

It was less than 10 minutes from the airport and I arrived at the hotel around 1:00am. The staff was very kind even though I arrived in the middle of the night. It was a very short stay, but the price was reasonable and large, and the room and bathroom were very beautiful. I am satisfied. I want to use it again.

It suited its purpose to be close to the airport, but otherwise there is not much to do in the area neither in the hotel. I would not stay longer than necessary. The hotels facilities are basic, rooms a bit outdated, though gym is quite good. Pool is nice and breakfast tasty and good variety

This was my third stay at the Goldi Sands, honestly, the last time was nearly 20 years ago but I had such a great time back then I had high expectations. In the intervening 20 years, the hotel has had a revamp, double the size, double the number of swimming pools, added an elevator and they've removed the beach-fronted bungalows. All of which I think was a smart move and well worth doing. What has changed is the service and the catering. The staff are of course all very polite just that they didn't go the extra mile like they used to. We arrived late as our flight had been delayed, all I wanted was a couple of bottles of beer, they did arrive but I almost had to beg. I booked a taxi to the airport with the front desk, but they forgot, the waitresses at dinner were all about the hard upsell rather than serving. The breakfast as far as my memory serves me used to be awesome, today's breakfast is the same every day and lacks imagination, is poorly presented, and includes the worst coffee ever. The hotel has a confusing number of tariffs from all-inclusive to room only which means if you want to buy a drink it takes forever as they have to check your ”status” and then if you pay cash they have to go to the cashier as they carry no float. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable but basic. All in all it is still a good hotel to choose but sadly it is no longer in the memorable category.

The pool was under renovation from July 11 to 25, so I understood that the significant discount was likely due to that. The room was clean and generally comfortable, but the position of the air conditioner in the bedroom was not ideal — the cold air blew directly onto the bed, which made it very chilly while sleeping. As for the location, the hotel is not directly on the beach but across a road from it. If you want to feel closer to the beach, staying at a beachfront hotel might be a better choice.
