Secrets Mallorca Villamil Resort & Spa - Adults Only (+18)

Peguera|0.31km from CR1 Peguera-Cap Andritxol Trail
The Villamil occupies a prominent location on the picturesque Bay of Paguera. It’s ideally located for the beach (with direct access) and for the main street which provides a range of shops, bars and restaurants. On entering the reception there’s an immediate sense of calm which continues throughout the building and its grounds. We were given an overview of the property at reception and then taken to our garden room. The room was well appointed in every way- spacious and tasteful with a large double bed. I won’t itemise the facilities but everything worked efficiently and the shower was highly effective and always hot. The small outside area had a table with two chairs and a hot tub. This was a feature of the seven rooms in this location. I’m still not convinced that it’s a highlight although we used it once in our week’s stay. The mortar for the stone walls wasn’t sealed so was constantly shedding grit and, following a heavy overnight rain shower, the hot tube gathered lots of leaf material and grit. The access to the garden was a bonus and the grounds combined well established trees and pathways with more recently developed areas. The path in front of the garden rooms also provided staff access to a facility nearby so this impacted on privacy. I’m not sure of the occupancy rate when we stayed but it was always possible to find peace and quiet as there were numerous outdoor seating and sunbathing areas in addition to those adjacent to the pool. On a grey, damp morning I snuggled into a comfortable sofa in the Piano Bar to read and daydream and visited the adjacent library which was a intimate space. We very much enjoyed the buffet breakfast in the World Café which offered great variety and excellent quality. Attentive staff kept tables cleared and were always at hand to assist and welcomed guests in a variety of languages. As the weather was still quite mild it was wonderful to be able to start the day at a table on the terrace overlooking the Mediterranean. Whilst guests were respectful of one another it was a shame to witness bullying behaviour by a group who were very insistent on having their needs met rather than respecting the whole community and following the hotel’s policy. It would have been helpful to have a plan of the property as accommodation was varied and spread around the site. Whilst we understood the hotel’s need to recognise members of Secrets loyalty scheme and differentiate Club level, it was a shame to hear some guests referred to as “preferred” which almost felt as through the rest of us were less deserving. I am a World of Hyatt member but did not seek any special treatment. We found the staff quite aloof though always professional. At reception on late evening arrival, we asked if there were still restaurants open in the village and this wasn’t known. Similarly, during a major sporting event which closed some local streets over the course of three days, the reception staff were unable to offer advice on accessing taxi

Cupido Boutique Hotel
4.1/522 Reviews
Hit and miss I will find this review quite difficult to write as the Cupido has many good points, but, unfortunately for us, I think the negative aspects just about outweighed the positives. The main asset the hotel has is its staff who are hardworking and happy in their roles and constantly engage in a cheerful manner with guests throughout the day... they really are fantastic and a credit to the company. There are little touches that are very pleasing such as for the first welcome drink they don’t just offer you a watered down orange juice or 1/2 inch glass of wine but more or less anything you want from the bar (obviously within reason) such as tea, coffee, glass of wine or full pint of beer... good start! When by the pool or roof terrace the lovely staff will come round and offer you free slices of cold water melon to cool you off a bit... all thoughtful gestures. The rooms appear to be very hit or miss, we started with a definite 'miss' initially with a tiny dark room (no balcony) tucked in the corner of the building with a very small single window looking out onto the blocked out side of someone’s balcony about 3ft. away (see photos) - the bigger window to the right wasn’t ours. Admittedly we booked a room without balcony as we had no choice when booking with Jet2, however, Jet2 don’t appear to charge extra for a balcony room anyway - it was just that they had none left - so this shouldn’t really have affected what room we were allocated. But this is where the lovely staff come into play again, between the manageress Carlota and the lovely receptionist Paula, after 2 nights they managed to swop our room to one that still had no balcony but was bigger, brighter, floor to ceiling window with superb sea view... what a difference! We were 2 weeks half board so you would have thought they’d have put someone that was only staying a few days on B&B in the first room to save us the embarrassment of having to ask to move. We would have been really miserable in that dark room for the whole fortnight. We were half board and are by no means fussy eaters but we thought the evening meal choice very limited even for a small hotel. There was literally one meat, one fish, one pasta and one grill station choice - none of which were very appealing. There isn’t even the choice of something like pizza which is usually on every hotels menu. These were accompanied by a choice of one vegetable and one style of potato. Even my partner who will hoover up anything didn’t enjoy any of the evening meals. But to counteract that the breakfast was okay and the morning machine coffee was the best I’ve had in a long time. As I say hit and miss. The communal areas of the hotel are lovely and everywhere is spotless but, as others have stated, it is in a rather noisy area (even in low season) with street bar music finishing after 2am., people shouting in the street in the early hours and the glass and bin wagons making an awful racket around 6am. which isn’t very condu

Great family business. I really like smaller places in top locations where You are Someone- Guest! Big commercial hotels are like many making fabrics where food is so bad and You are no one! Here Food was like from Michelin star restaurant with friendly chats and peaceful atmosphere. Amazing! Room is super clean and has everything what You will need in long or short stay. I was there 6 nights and i could do way more in the same spot because there is everything next to You; beach is just next to, so many shops: different cousins (if You will have enough of hotel restaurant - but I don’t believe that!), bus stop is 5 min walk. Staff - impressed in terms of how many languages they speak! And how friendly they are:) All together from me 10/10! Highly recommend I’ll be back for sure.

The hotel is located in the centre of the city centre, and the hotel is located in the centre of the city centre. The beach is in the front of the hotel, is in very good conditions, has showers, I was at the end of August and it was a little wave beach, very warm. The hotel is very comfortable and the hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable. All I have named, in perfect conditions. The hotel staff in general, with good attitude and excellent treatment with guests. The hotel's pool is also in perfect conditions. P.D. Just back from a week break in Paguera. This was a very last minute trip and we were very lucky to find such a great hostal The proprietors were so kind and welcoming. Spotlessly clean throughout, comfy beds and pillows. Charming chambermaid Breakfast was simple but plenty of choice and freshly cooked eggs, bacon and sausage along with normal cold meats, cheese and fruit Very hot whilst we were there and Paguera is a lively loud resort until about midnight but there is air con although we just left the balcony door open so early nights were not possible 2 minutes from the beach and as many bars and restaurants as you could ever desire

and linen - Great breakfast - Walking distance to the attractions & beach - and fabulous hosts! We did a last minute booking for 3 friends from London to get away from the miserable weather. We were skeptical at first as we read hostal as in English hostal.Howeevr it was definitely a hotel with lots of great touches. From our ”late check-in” to our ”late check-out” Patrik & Gunnar were incredibly accommodating - pardon the pun. Our beds were turned down daily by lovely Coco The housekeeper. Breakfast was included a continental style buffet with eggs made to order , coffee water and juice endless supply each morning. The Location is set back from the main roads so it was as quiet as we would like it with “gratis” parking in front of the hotel . A few minutes away and there’s a very tidy but bustling “high street” with all the cuisines and drinks your heart could desire and tourist shops , the beach was a bit beyond this making it perfect for visitors of all pallets x great place and will definitely come again. The hosts and location really make this a gem! thank you guys
