Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia City Avenue

The pool was closed due to a power outage the day before. I booked the room this day because it was a hot one and my children wanted to be at a pool. But overall the stay was great like always!!!
Rodeway Inn

The road in front of the hotel has a main road and a secondary road with a separation belt in the middle. Baidu navigation has always been prompted to sit on the road, the result has been walking on the left main road, eyes can not enter the hotel, have to turn back. The room was clean and the service was good. No coffee pot, no hot water, instant noodles can't be soaked. The left hand of the hotel is not far from the intersection. There is a Chinese-opened restaurant. It is good to pay for food by self-service.
Homewood Suites by Hilton Philadelphia-City Avenue

The Hilton is a great place to stay no matter if your visiting or going to make it your home for awhile, I recommend it not just because of the big flatscreen TV's and cable on demand in every room. But other things such as the complimentary breakfasts they have cooked fresh at the lobby every morning, as well as the dinners they serve every Wednesday are just as good. Overall, the staff and people treat you like family, as well as the fellow tenets I recommend this place to anyone who needs a place to stay when visiting anything around the Philadelphia area, especially since the location makes it convenient for traveling to most of the favorite dinners and hot-spots. 5 stars!! Room not properly cleaned. There was open drinks and food in the refrigerator. The room smelled moldy. The toilet paper holder was broken and just hanging at a downward angle. I booked the room for three people but only two sets of towels were in the room. There was no soap at all. I think the sheets were clean, but with these issues and lack of attention to cleaning and the state of the room in general, I have my doubts. Front desk and staff were friendly, although I was never asked how my stay was when I checked out. I am a Hilton Diamond member and was not given an upgrade and I had to ask for the water that I was supposed to receive. I received the food/beverage credit for one day but not the second.
Manayunk Chambers Guest House

My husband and I wanted to stay somewhere in Philly that had breakfast and free parking. We hit the jackpot when we found the Manayunk Chambers Guest House. It checked the boxes for both requirements, but it was *so much more*. Mark, the ”face” of the B&B and Neal, a more ”behind the scenes” operator, are warm, friendly people who embody a wonderful mix of modern savvy and old-world chivalry. We arrived at the end of a 1,000-plus-mile road trip and I was wiped out! Accordingly, it warmed my heart that they both, at varying moments, offered to carry my suitcase up/down stairs. We also enjoyed lively conversation with each of them. Fun! When we booked the room, we asked if there were any discounts such as AAA or seniors. Mark does not offer such perks as a rule, but a look at his calendar allowed him to give us 10% off. To our delight, when we checked in, he offered us an upgrade at no additional charge. What a mensch! We booked the Parisienne Suite, but with the upgrade ended up in the City Suite, which was marvelous. The bed was so comfortable, I almost didn't make it down to the parlor to partake of the ample selection of wines/beers/sodas and snacks. But I couldn't pass up that opportunity... Nor should anyone who stays there. It is thoroughly relaxing and peaceful. Before calling it a night, I immersed myself at length in the soaking tub, which removed any tension that might have been left. After a sound snooze, my day began with, perhaps, the funkiest shower I've ever taken. I cannot tell a lie. I was like a little kid changing the settings to make water come out of different spouts. It was a ton of fun and I'd have liked to take the shower home with me, but it didn't fit in my luggage... ;-) Breakfast—peach crepes with yogurt, fruit and granola; cappuccino and a basket of homemade pastries—was artfully presented, healthy and delicious. Does it get better than that? As a matter of fact, it does, because conversation with Mark and his other guests was also completely engaging. And with its independent shops and restaurants, Manayunk is an adorable area with something for everyone. From start to finish our stay at Manayunk Chambers Guest House was a salve for body and mind. Thank you so much, Mark and Neal. We can't wait to come back again.
The Conwell Inn

This hotel is an older hotel that could use some updates. That being said, it was the perfect location for the graduation we were attending at the Liacouras center on Broad Street. We walked to the ceremony no problem and we had two older people in our party. The staff was very nice and generally accommodating. We had a couple of small hiccups, first, the tub in room 205 didn’t drain very well. Second, we requested a rollaway bed for our final night and were assured it would be put in the room, it never was. Lastly, our final day at the hotel housekeeping never materialized to clean or replace towels. These were all minor things, sure, but still a little annoying. All in all, it was a pleasant stay and if we ever needed to visit Philly again would certainly stay at the Connell Inn.
