Just on our last night of a weeks stay here- and we’ve loved every minute. The hotel is nicely spread out, and is very clean and tidy. The pool area is lovely- comfy sun beds and more than enough for everybody. Food is really good and there something for everyone. All inclusive drinks are very good- lots of options including many cocktails- and the beer is great. Not a great deal going on in terms of entertainment- but that suited us fine. Only downside is it’s in the middle of nowhere- but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel. Had a really relaxing holiday and would stay again in a heartbeat. Beds really comfy too!!

Great stay at Solimar. DINA at front helped us with literally everything during our stay in Crete. We would be lost without her help. The hotel is very clean, the food was good and the staff was helpful always. Little far from attractions, so you might want to rent a car or you can hop on the bus. The stop is right front of the hotel.

This place was great! Areti (front desk) was absolutely fantastic she helped us with everything!!!! She gave us so many things to do and places to eat. She even helped us to get allergy medicine when we needed at pharmacy. She was amazing! Theo (pool bartender) was great so helpful and attentive was always there to help and kept it so clean. He also gave us the best burger recommendations. Gabriel (activities coordinator) as great animated and engaging! He kept it lively and made the place better! Definitely recommend this place!

We visited Solimar Aquamarine in May with our 1-year-old son. We found a last minute deal and for the price we paid the hotel was really nice. It's definitely not a 5 star resort as advertised by some travel agencies, but it's a decent 4 star hotel. Here are some details: - location: quiet area, between two small villages (Maleme and Gerani, both within walking distance). There's a nice and long promenade to the west. If you want to visit one of the bigger towns, you can take a bus for 2€ (one way) to Chania, or in the opposite direction - to Kolymbari and Kissamos (about 5,5€ to the latter, one way). The bus stop is on the main road right in front of the hotel. There's a small on-site shop on the way to the beach. - beach: a mix of rocks and greyish sand. There are some sunbeds and umbrellas available, but they're not in a very good condition. There are no other facilities. To go back to the hotel you need to climb up a hill, but it's not very steep (it wasn't too bothersome to walk that distance with a stroller). - room: we had an apar**ent right next to a utility room, we were worried that it would be a problem, but luckily we didn't hear any noises. It was located on ground floor, so it was easy to go in and out with a stroller. The apar**ent is very spacious, there are two separate rooms, which was very convenient. In the main room, there was a mini fridge and electric kettle with some selection of instant coffee and tea. In the bedroom there was plenty of space for the baby cot which was provided for our request. - food: the food was ok, but there were some shortcomings. The breakfast was the same every day, but it was not an issue for us. The lunches and dinners were rather bland. The main disappoin**ent were some oversights such as a bit of an eggshell or a hair in the food, or undercooked meat. However, the desserts and the a la carte restaurant were very good. Mind that the drinks are served, so sometimes you have to wait for the waiter to come and take your order (during all meals, including breakfast). - staff: one of the best things about this hotel. I usually don't interact with the staff a lot, but here everyone was really friendly and helpful. Moreover, they were very, very nice to our son. - infrastructure for kids: there's a small playground and a playroom, but both are quite worn out and not very clean. Maybe during the high season they are better taken care of. - WiFi: it is reliable and worked well in our apar**ent.

This is a really good value hotel for all inclusive, however its not 5 star standards. Its great for kids. Really nice pool area and the roof bars lovely to sit for a few drinks and enjoy the ambiance. There's 2 types of all inclusive level for drinks (we are not really drinkers so we didnt notice any difference, however if you like a proper coffee ie cappuccino, that's on the extra level) Heres a few ******* duing our 5 night stay... The food is abit repetitive, theres not much tradional greek style options, also most of the food just doesn't taste as fresh as it should be. The food isnt very hot either, theres even a microwave in the corner for you to heat your food up... (We went to a different 5 star hotel after and the food standard there was so much better - what you expect from a 5 star) The air-con in the room is very noisy and is not fit for purpose, I would not recommend staying at this hotel if outside temperature is above 25°c (you will bake in the room), it was 25°c and below when we stayed and luckily I had my mini fan with me to get me through the night. Apart from the above, it was a very nice stay overall.

Amazing hotel with high quality services. Quality food, and great variety. Well executed cocktails. Well decorated rooms, comfortable beds. Special mention to the restaurant manager Pierre, who made our stay more comfortable with his non-ending smile - our restless hero. A small tip, the pools do need a bit more regular scheduled cleaning. Would visit again - and recommend it by all means.

What is unforgettable from our stay is the willingness of the staff to reach beyond and gift us their hospitality, assistance and smiles. Whom to mention first, the amazing bartender (who remembered our drinks everyday), Suleyan the waiter (who was fast as a speeding bullet, or the Maitre d' Pierre - who is very professional and is a credit to the hotel. Everyone works in military preciseness and effectiveness under his supervision. Cosy and clean rooms, very good food with variety and non repetitiveness. A well kept establishment. However, there are not many sunbeds which is a rather drawback as one can not enjoy the poolside relaxing. The beach is very rocky and if the weather is foul - very wavy. There are a few restaurants that are very service oriented and with good food and reasonable prices. We rented a car and visited Chania, and a few places around despite the buses being very punctual and cheap as we wanted to have freedom of movement. Very good vacation - and good moments to remember. Would definitely visit again.
