Clonmel Castle was such a perfect find! It's a beautiful stately home and grounds, minutes from the very cute lakeside town of Port Dover. Lynn has done an amazing job renovating the home after she took over this boutique hotel, to have modern luxury amenities, while keeping its quirky historic character. The rooms are spacious and comfortable (truly luxurious). The whole ground floor is lounges, a library, and other nooks and crannies, with wonderful porch seating for guests to gather in. The grounds are also large, beautiful, and charming. But most of all - Lynn is such an attentive, gracious host. She cooks up a storm for plentiful breakfasts, and she is there to make sure every detail of your stay is perfect. We stayed in September for a weekend family reunion. I would HIGHLY recommend Clonmel Castle for families, special events like reunions, weddings, etc., and really any kind of peaceful getaway if you want a real treat.

My wife and I and a couple friend's spent 3 nights at Clonmel recently and I have to say it was one of if not the best stay we have ever had at a boutique hotel! The owner Lynnee was amazing, the staff were amazing and the rooms are out of this world. Lynee and team went out of thier way to ensure our stay was perfection in every way. We feel as though we have made lifelong friends and we will be back before long. It’s a great place to explore, the history in this building is unbelievable, the team at Clonmel have done an excellent job of embracing the history in every way. Thanks for a great stay!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Clonmel Castle. Our host was amazing. Lynee provided the true definition of customer service. From the time we were greeted to our departure - we felt pampered. Every step was taken to ensure we had a relaxing stay. Food was outstanding. We enjoyed breakfasts and a very special dinner. Rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. Everything was very clean. I have stayed at other boutique hotels - but this was a level up.

Went on trip to see eclipse. I am from long island New York. I accidently booked this hotel in Canada. I called the owner, but she gave me the run around with canceling the reservation, so I had to drive there, we get there, and she gives us a room that was decent but not what we paid for. When I asked for the difference in price, she continue to lie through her teeth embarrassing herself. The place was nice but the owner with the blue hair wasn't. I can't recommend this place.

Clonmel Castle had the perfect location for our viewing of the solar eclipse with its expansive lawns on top of Prospect Hill, complete with a viewing party and live music hosted by the owner. Lynneee is the "chatelaine" of this beautiful 12,000 square foot mansion and is an attentive, witty, and charming hostess, as well as the chef. She made us feel welcome and comfortable during our stay. We rented the penthouse suite for six people, ourselves, our daughter and husband and two grandaughters. Our suite was very large with separate bedrooms for the adults and a draped-off sleeping area with a double bed for the children. The girls loved the space to play and we all loved the beautiful bathroom. We were able to prepare our own lunches in the kitchenette. Breakfast in the formal dining room was amazing. Lynneee treated us to delicious freshly cooked eggs benedict, perhaps the best I have ever had. We also had dinner at the castle which was a very large serving of roast beef and these amazing potatoes gratinees, and while seated in chippendale chairs. Except for the kitchen and office the entire main floor of the house is for use of guests. The house is very tastefully furnished with leather sofas and antiques appropriate to the period of the mansion's construction, 1929. The natural wood of the mansion has been beautifully preserved. The children loved the "throne room" complete with suits of armour. There is also a waterfall on a small river at the base of the hill which the children enjoyed. And of course there is the beach in Port Dover and the harbour with its fishing boats. Restaurants in the village are famous for fresh perch. We had a wonderful visit and will definitely return.

Just came back from two nights at Clonmel Castle while visiting the Port Dover area. What a beautiful experience! The owner, Lynnee was wonderful to deal with and very accommodating. The breakfasts were delicious and the wine left in our fridge delicious. My friend and I had the ‘Renessance’room which was beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous and we enjoyed our wine on the swing. Would definitely recommend and will return. Thank you

We stayed in Port Dover on the way back home from a trip through Ontario with family. Clonmel Castle has a lot of charm and we were greeted by our host with a plate full of savories and sweets and a bottle of wine, which was very nice. However, our room, though fairly big, has a "spa bathroom" that is very tiny - no shower curtain (part of the design of the wet room) and no room on sink to place anything. A bit of a surprise as we didn't see great detail in the description on the website - otherwise, we would have looked at booking another room. (If you don't mind using a common area facility, there is a bigger bathroom outside of all the rooms which anyone can access.) Also bed was up against a wall and we couldn't move it out, so one person didn't have easy access getting in and out.(There is another daybed in the room). Breakfast we had a minor mishap, (foreign object found in the food) but it was acknowledged and, overall, meal was tasty. Our travel mates had a room across the hall and it had a very large bathroom and plenty of space around the bed.

Group of five ladies were overnight guests in the private Vault Suite which we thoroughly enjoyed. Lynee is a welcoming, gracious and accomodating hostess. Comfortable, beautiful and interesting home. Breakfast in the dining room and evening bites were delectable. It was a perfect stay!

OMG I can't express my thanks to Lynnee and her staff! There are no words. She went way above and beyond. If you are considering a wedding there it is the most beautiful venue that you can imagine. It was romantic, calm, and organized. I saw my reception area and it brought tears to my husband's eyes and left me in complete shock at first. They are decorated it beautifully! They handled all the menu planning with us, they got the cake, they got the flowers, they got the officiant and it took such a huge stress off of myself and husband. The food was delicious and the entire atmosphere was everything I envisioned and everything my husband envisioned. The little touches that were unexpected brought me to tears as well. All of our guests enjoyed the castle and the reception there. I must add that we stayed in the King Room and you could not ask for anything more in a room. It was an experience that will never be forgotten. The hospitality was legit amazing. If you read negative reviews, trust me I will be the first to counter any negative feedback for this venue and the staff! Thank you for making our day truly special! We loved it!
