Sherewood Lodge

Tranquil setting. Rooms are a bit dark and musty, not sure if its because of the summer heat that things were closed up when I arrived at 4pm. That said, great aircon in room which is a must in the high 30 degree temperatures. Food was great but i only had breakdast. My colleague's room had rather peculiar decor - very demon'ic at first glance. Left a very uneasy feeling.

I enjoyed a one night stay that was very comfortable and included everything I needed. Sherewood Lodge is beautiful and peaceful. It did not feel as if I was in the middle of a busy city. I could relax after my meeting that day and before another meeting the next day. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I cannot recommend this lodge enough. Superb setting, great food, relaxing atmosphere and attentive service from Ossie and his team. I reserved for 2 nights but ended up staying an additional two when my return flight to the UK was cancelled. Ossie went out of his way to help.

What a lovely place with the friendliest and most helpful staff. We stayed in the family room which can accommodate 4 people in two bedrooms, with a kitchenette and a pleasant stoep area for enjoying a cuppa outside. The main bedroom is very spacious, but a little dark, even with blinds open. However, the room was pleasantly cool throughout the day, even in high summer. Note there is one shared bathroom with shower, no tub. The shower is rather on the small side with soap dispensers too high for kids to reach. On the plus side, there is ample hanging space and enough surface areas for toiletries - something that is often overlooked. We loved the fusion decor with African, European and oriental elements, especially the beautiful rugs. The beds and pillows were ok, not great, but not terrible either. I need to single out Ozzie. Ozzie was a wonderful host. He looked after us from arrival to departure and managed everything to a T. We arrived minutes before the onsite restaurant closed for the day, and Ozzie graciously kept the kitchen open for us to enjoy a scrumptious lunch. Breakfast the next morning was superlative.

The property is very well maintained, amenities are more than sufficient and it feels as though you are far from town. Staff is always friendly and ready to assist, the food exceeds our expectations consistently.

Beautiful,so peacefull and clean We loved our stay at Sherwood. Such Friendly staff - Ozzie, Colin, Lisa to name a few. Breakfast was fantastic - In fact we went back last week to the Swart Skaap Bristo for a breakfast and was once again served by Colin. (so friendly, so professional) Thank you guys, we will be back and we will certainly reccomend.

My second time overnighting at Sherewood lodge and once again it didn’t disappoint. The rooms are well appointed, the linen is lovely, the shower is wonderfully hot. All amenities and extras have been well thought out. The gardens are immaculate and the breakfast the next day was just delicious. The location of this lodge is lovely as it is close to all amenities yet it is peaceful and tranquil. All of the staff are friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend Sherewood lodge. I wish I could’ve stayed longer….!

A relaxing, peaceful stay at Sherewood Lodge. The staff are so friendly and helpful, always going the extra mile. Our room was spotless with all the amenities, comfortable bed and a delightful patio overlooking the beautiful garden. The food was outstanding. Will definitely be back.

There was absolutely nothing to fault - From reception to hosting, facilities, catering, accommodation, friendliness of staff and always being available, was a top class experience. Not mention the food and service which was exceptional! Thank you Lisa, Ozzy and all the other staff!
