Find Koh Samui Hotels with Private Pools

"We stayed here in April 2025. We moved to Lipa Noi from Chaweng Noi beach, as we were looking for a more rustic, village-like vibe. A few days before check-in, we drove past the hotel. From the road, I must say, it looks quite unremarkable, and we started to doubt our choice. However, the hotel lived up to our expectations. Excellent value for money. We booked a villa with a small private pool. After researching all the hotels on the island, this was the best deal we found on Koh Samui for a private pool – couldn't find anything cheaper. Rooms in this category are located across the road from the main building, but this wasn't an issue at all. The room was excellent: clean, quiet, and had everything we needed, including a new bathroom. It also featured a small private fenced-off area with its own sun loungers and umbrella, and a mini-pool with a waterfall and lighting. We definitely wished the pool was deeper; we're used to small pools, but not quite *this* shallow 😅. Still, it was perfectly fine for cooling off on a hot day. The only downside in the room was the transparent ceiling in the bathroom, which made it very stuffy during the day. When booking, we chose between this room and a Tropical villa with a mini-pool in the hotel's main area. If you value privacy, definitely book the villa across the road. Despite the lush greenery, all the pools in the Tropical villas are visible from the hotel pathways. **Regarding the location:** This is where we truly fell in love with Koh Samui. It's a small village, but it has everything you need. Within walking distance of the hotel, there are several cafes and massage places, a currency exchange, and a 7/11 not far away. However, a scooter is still essential. The roads here are empty and very scenic. Not far, if you drive towards the pier, there's an excellent family-run cafe with very reasonable prices and delicious food. The hotel has a compact, green property with small bridges and ponds with fish. There's also a large parking lot. The breakfasts were decent, and it was quiet and peaceful; there weren't many guests in April. There were always empty sun loungers on the beach and by the main pool, even though there weren't many to begin with. The massage service was a bit pricey; given the low number of guests, they could have offered a discount, which would have made us less inclined to look for massages elsewhere. The beach itself is very quiet, with a narrow strip of light, clean, and soft sand – it's aesthetically pleasing for a stroll. However, the sea in April was not swimmable. It was shallow, with stagnant, warm, greenish water and a very silty bottom. I had read reviews, but I wasn't prepared for just *how* bad it was. In total, we only went into the sea once and didn't attempt it again. The main pool was also boiling hot, so our mini-pool was a lifesaver."

"Baan Hin Sai Resort & Spa — Samui, Thailand This hotel is all about nature, tranquility, and the feeling of living right inside a jungle. The hotel grounds are incredibly well integrated into the surrounding landscape: lush greenery, massive rocks, and varying elevations – everything looks completely natural, without the impression that nature was 'forced' to accommodate construction. During our stay, we saw monitor lizards on the property twice. They scurry away and hide immediately, but the very fact of having such neighbors is more of a positive, confirming that the place is alive and authentic. It's really cool that the hotel exists in harmony with the natural environment, rather than instead of it. Upon check-in, we were offered drinks (though quite sweet), and they thoroughly answered all our questions. Throughout our stay, they were always available and assisted with any issues that came up. Guests are driven around the property by Thai staff in two electric buggies, which is convenient given the hotel's terrain and size. Every evening, musicians play and sing at the bar near the reception. The atmosphere is very lively and warm: you can dance, sing karaoke, and they even offer complimentary alcoholic cocktails, which is a pleasant and unexpected touch. Mornings here are a special delight. There's a stunning view of the sunrise, the sea breaking against the coastal rocks, and lots of sea foam. It's incredibly beautiful and meditative. The sea is clean. Breakfasts are buffet-style, but without a 'wow' factor. Our rating for the food is 6 out of 10: neither the presentation, approach, taste, nor variety impressed us. We didn't have lunch, dinner, or the festive menu, so we're only rating the breakfasts. The staff are welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help. This is one of the hotel's strong advantages. We used the pool with views of the sea and rocks – the pool was clean, and we never saw anyone else in it during our entire stay, which added to the sense of seclusion and privacy. Ratings: Grounds: 8 / 10 Room: 7 / 10 Food (breakfasts): 6 / 10 PS for the hotel: It would be great to create a hub area near the reception – a place where guests could spend time during the day and evening. A table tennis table, billiards, and a small area with a pull-up bar and parallel bars would fit in perfectly."

"The staff were very pleasent and accommodating, the pools were nice and clean, unfortunately the beach in front of the hotel is terrible, there is no beach directly in front of the hotel and the rest of the bay is covered in oil and quite unkept."

"Hotel is just chic!! Breakfasts, this is a separate story, never before, in Thailand, and I have something to remember and to compare, we travel for 16 years every year, well, here, in no hotel on breakfast I didn't meet a coffee latte, cappuccino ... also perfectly prepared, I am already silent, about the egg ”Benedikt” and ”Pashot” ... pool is spacious and clean, the territory is tidy and pleasantly pleased with the eye, the unswimmable beach, in principle, the rest does not spoil ...ne next to the hotel, but in step-by-step availability, and 7/11 and the pass to the Lamai beach with the cleanest water and curious striped fish.but ... there is one but that does not fit in all this picture with oil ..in 5 days, we never changed the towels once. No white rooms, no beach colors...yes how? Is it possible, five days to use the same beach towels.There is no possibility to dry them, I had to go to the beach with heavy, raw towels ...it was very offensive ... and it is completely unclear why so? On the one hand, perfect service, and on the other hand dirty, raw towels.."

"The room was fantastic — big, clean, with a good interior and great materials. However, the bathroom does not separate the wet and dry zones. There is a big bathtub attached to the toilet. You have to shower in the bathtub and everything gets wet The hotel seems to be short-staffed, which affects the overall service quality. The staff seemed too tired, which is why they were not very friendly. there was a lack of coordination between the breakfast area and the front desk staff. The parking area was quite limited and narrow Even though I requested special needs through the Trip App. I did not receive them."

"Nice and clean, comfy bungalows with modern styling bathroom with bathtub, sink and toilet with peekaboo windows from room, and outdoor shower with rack for hanging wet towels and swimming wear. Nice terrace with table and chairs to sit outside and enjoy fresh morning air, and lovely evenings. The staff is very friendly and the ladies in the restaurant were very gracious. The 3 tiered pools were lovely with gorgeous view.  The middle one needed some cleaning of leaves that blew down from the wind. The hot water filled only half the tub, but after waiting 15min the water heater was able to fill up the rest of the tub, which was enjoyable and worth the extra effort. Good value and comfortable."

"The staff in charge of luggage storage and handling at the front desk are friendly, responsible, enthusiastic and serious. The air conditioner sometimes leaks like a waterfall, so it doesn't matter if the bed is not next to the wall. Because the edge of the bed is hard, be careful not to pounce on the bed or you may hit the bone.The hotel is quite good, simple and original."

"Location - 10/10. Right on the beach, and also right in the middle of all the action at the entrance gate. The rooms - 8.5/10, are nice and spacious. A little dated. Nice and clean, but we had multiple pool/spa filters next to our room which were quite noisy. Service - 8/10. The staff are friendly and helpful, but I think a little training is required to be proactive rather than reactive. For example, at breakfast at various times - no plates, no cutlery, nowhere to sit, no milk.....Also, at the gym and pool no towels ”just wait 20 minutes”, but never came. Ambience - 4.5/10 is probably the weakness. There was multiple sites around the resort that looked like a rubbish tip. Overall, the experience was pretty good, but could be improved - 8/10."

"I booked a deluxe room with sea view. The room was on the ground floor with a view to the pool. Technically, you could see at the very end of the long pool, between the heads of the people swimming, the blue of the sea. It is very disappointing to book a sea view room and get this, it is not the room in the pictures. Lightning was awful, very bright. You could have of all light on or none of them."
