"During a recent trip to Finland, my family and I spent a lovely weekend at Sahanlahti. This is an idyllic spot on Lake Saimaa, about three hours northeast of Helsinki by car. We loved it. The beauty and stillness of the nature all around us; our extraordinary villa at Elsanranta, with its lovely views, suite, and terrace; the friendliness of the staff; the delicious food; the saunas--all made our stay there a wonderful and unforgettable experience. We would highly recommend a stay at Sahanlahti."

"A higher-end accommodation in a contemporary hut near the lake. Well-equipped kitchen. Nice bar and terrace in the reception area to relax and watch the sunset. Friendly staff. For the price (almost 200 USD / night without breakfast), the cottage was rather small, with no TV or wi-fi - maybe some people pay extra for digital detox, in which case this is the place. :) No grilling spot either."

"The food ingredients had great potential but unfortunately poor cooking and service ruined the experience. Food was cold and overcooked and there were no waiters so eventually the cook brought our food. Such a shame because the view is lovely and place very cozy."
