"We stayed for 14 nights over the Christmas and New Year holiday. We had a fabulous and unique experience at Melody House. Audrey and her son, Christopher, were excellent hosts, and made us feel very welcome from the start. With no unnecessary fuss or silly rules, they felt like our new friends. Our room was tastefully decorated in a vintage style with modern facilities; spotlessly clean and warm; ours had a jacuzzi and a very comfortable bed and bedding. The small fridge in our room was very useful. Our breakfasts were perfectly cooked by Audrey and the choices were many. We ate at traditionally dressed tables with proper china crockery and teapot. This was 5 star service. Looking around the dining room and lounge area, there are hundreds of artefacts collected by Audrey and her family over many years. In itself, a collective history of her own colourful life but also an insight into the beautiful county of Norfolk, of which Audrey and son Christopher are true ambassadors. We have no hesitation in recommending Melody House to those who respect quality service in a unique setting."

"This is traditional real Norfolk B&B hospitality with the emphasis on customer service. Audrey is a wealth of local knowledge (just listen and learn) and a really lovely person willing to share her life and learning, traits equally reflected in Chris, who fronts and hosts the house. Rooms are in keeping with the traditional theme of attention to detail with fresh milk in the fridge, cut glass tumblers and wine glasses and fluffy towels and slippers provided. Lovely warm wood burner in snug and a wonderful historic and well preserved building. Ideal for Thursford Spectacular and North Norfolk coastline, and an ideal relaxing get away location for a break away from the hubbub of modern life, whatever time of year. We loved just talking with Audrey and Chris about life past and present. Lovely place, lovely breakfast, cooked fresh with local produce to order, proper coffee in cafetiere and scrambled eggs properly cooked, lovely people. 5+ out of 5 - but if you don't like bone China, fresh cloths, traditional decor and lovely people, go elsewhere and leave this gem for those of us who do - and who respect customer service and will return - time and again. Thank you Audrey and Chris, we had a lovely 71st birthday and Thursford experience with you - you made it fun and memorable for us - thank you, we will be back. "

"We stayed at this accommodation after cycling the Peddars Way from Thornham (Castle Acre is our halfway point), and it is brilliant. The price per night is very reasonable for what you get. For a family room you get one double bed, and a single (which is VERY small), a coffee machine, a kettle, a fridge and a bathroom. Everything in the room is clean and tidy, you can tell they clean it well. The only thing they can do that would make it pitch perfect is allow the heating to be changed at ease as we felt the room was slightly on the cold side, and currently the only way to change the heating is that you have to request for it to be changed at the pub which is a bit of a nuisance. Overall a great one night stay, we will definitely be back if we ever cycle the Peddars Way again!"
