Salento Pequeño Hotel

Wonderful hotel. Very convenient to everything, yet very quiet. Staff is very friendly amd helpful. The rooms are beautiful and very well designed.

The property was alright, nothing breathtaking. They didn’t have hot water in the shower, and the TV wasn’t working correctly. No creams, coffee, or AC are available. Our breakfast wasn’t included in my tariff, so I don’t have any comments on that. Stuff came across as arrogant. Maybe a bit of training in customer services would make the experience better for future visitors.

A bargain for visitors. It definitely has a cabin glamping feel. Hot water works. Safe didn't. Probably needed batteries. Quiet calm walkable. Off street gated parking a plus. Nice grounds.

One of 4 units, well appointed, in quiet location with views over Salento and mountains beyond. Only a short walk into town with its many shops and eateries. Only problem with the accommodation is a potentially dangerous shower where there is no temperature control so scalding is a real possibility. There's no proper mixer tap or thermostat. The plumbing arrangement is such that adding cold water to the hot actually causes back pressure on the hot supply which stops its flow and switches off the boiler. The result is you either have full (very) hot or full cold. The owner should employ a qualified plumber to reconfigure the system. Apart from this everything was great.

We booked and paid for three nights. On the second morning we were woken up at 8am with a staff member knocking on the door, as I opened the door he entered into the room, while my partner was still in her underwear. He proceeded to tell us that we needed to checkout today because they had overbooked and it was not possible for us to stay the extra night we had paid for. They told us we would need to move to another hotel further away from town and it would be more expensive. We had prepared to do activities this day and it was ruined due to needing to find alternative accomodation wasting a day of our time in Salento. We had also purchased food to use in the kitchen which had to go to waste as our alternative accomodations didn’t have cooking facilities. After years of travelling I have never experienced this type of rude behaviour and service and I would not recommend this unprofessional “hotel” to anyone. Reservamos y pagamos por tres noches. En la segunda mañana nos despertaron a las 8 am con un miembro del personal llamando a la puerta, cuando abrí la puerta entró en la habitación, mientras mi pareja todavía estaba en ropa interior. Procedió a decirnos que necesitábamos hacer el check-out hoy porque tenían overbooking y no era posible que nos quedáramos la noche extra que habíamos pagado. Nos dijeron que tendríamos que mudarnos a otro hotel más lejos de la ciudad y que sería más caro. Nos habíamos preparado para hacer actividades este día y se arruinó debido a la necesidad de encontrar un alojamiento alternativo perdiendo un día de nuestro tiempo en Salento. También habíamos comprado comida para usar en la cocina que tuvo que desperdici**** ya que nuestro alojamiento alternativo no tenía instalaciones para cocinar. Después de años de viajar, nunca he experimentado este tipo de comportamiento y servicio grosero y no recomendaría este "hotel" poco profesional a nadie.

I booked this hotel for 4 nights because ********** said it was 9.2 superb. The positive are the people working there the owner and the 3 woman and night watchman they will help you with anything laundry tours driver, another positive is the view. Very nice balcony with view of mountains, they do offer a nice breakfast with fresh fruit from the trees on the property. Strong wifi. The room has 2 beds tv small refrigerator small safe and a small desk with chair. To get to your room there is a steep gravel incline you must carry your suitcase to get to room. If you have heavy luggage or a lot if it. It is hard. No restaurant or food on property other than they serve breakfast in your room to eat on the balcony. (Small surcharge) There are other small little problems but they are manageable. I feel bad putting in these review because the people were so nice. But the most important thing is this is a basic room. Not 5stars or excellent. Would I stay there probably not because I would want to be closer to the center of town. I would pay more and make sure I got more luxuries in a hotel. If your looking for a basic room with a view outside of town at a very cheap price this is your place. Good luck. Owner has a very good restaurant in town cocina horno a couple doors down from police station. We highly recommend it.

Nice small/boutique hotel. it has limited options for breakfast and noisy on occasion due to a bus/truck parking near the hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Heater did not work during the stay and it can get cold at night.

I have no idea how this is rated so highly. It was a 9.3 on booking when I reserved it. The woman who worked here during the day was incredibly nice. However, the room was very basic. It is more like a cabin in a national park than a hotel - wood plank floor with the wood near the toilet showing some signs of rot. The facilities are not in great condition nor of high standard. Our shower had missing tiles. The water in the shower would not stay hot and you had to know the "trick to it" which isn't something I expect to have to know, certainly not in a place for which we paid $125 per night. I would look for other places to stay if we went back to Salento.
