We booked for a week in a premium Double room. We were very impressed when we arrived. The reception staff are lovely and very helpful. Our room was wonderful, modern, very clean. The decor of the hotel was minimalistic, contemporary and always spotless including the outside areas. The main food hall has a great selection of foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner and we ate there a lot of the time as our 6 year old is quite fussy. The only downside is the drinks service, it can be very slow or when the drinks eventually arrive it’s the wrong order. It got to be a bit of a joke in the end (not in a funny way) they need more staff in this area. The ginger bar was lovely with great cocktails and little snacks for kids that they could help themselves too. Service can be a little hit and miss here too but overall ok. The kids club and splash park was most enjoyable for our child with lots of activities throughout the day and evening. The snack shack was great, food was quick, hot and delicious, the service here was top notch especially from a lovely staff member called Sara. You are able together fresh beach towels every day from round the pool area, the pools are a little chilly but once you get in it’s fine. When we arrive the reception team told us to download the Meliá app so that we could book ourselves into some of the other restaurants unfortunately, when we tried to do this they only had really late availability left or no availability. As we have a small child eating at 9.30pm wasn’t an option for us. We did try out the Kanna restaurant which wasn’t that great slow service once again, over cooked and wrong drinks order arrived. The restaurant was half full, so I can’t say it was because they were rush off their feet. One morning I tried to order room service through the app and it never materialised, waited 2 hours. Had to go to reception to cancel the charge to my card. Overall this is a wonderful resort, just a few teething issues to resolve

We stayed at Paradiscus Meliá Grand Canaria for 5 days in January 2024. The hotel is beautifully designed and set in mature landscaped gardens right next to the beach. From the moment we checked in everyone was helpful and friendly and we were so impressed with our room (339) It was spotlessly clean with a gorgeous balcony overlooking the mountains. The beds were so comfortable and the housekeeping staff were on hand several times a day to clean/tidy and make sure everything was perfect. The food and drinks were delicious - in particular the Gastro Hall and Kanna - thank you to Christina for fitting us in for a last minute lunch! The shack by the pool was perfect for light snacks and drinks through the day. I had a wonderful outdoor yoga class with Isabel and Andre helped us to book into a star gazing evening - the hotel has its own small observatory which was the icing on the cake! We also had an outdoor movie night complete with popcorn and warm blankets. We will definitely be back soon - such a wonderful holiday. Thank you!

This was our second stay at the Paradisus and it felt like we were coming home! As soon as you walk into reception there is a sense of calm. The staff are so welcoming and it was lovely to see the same happy faces. They are genuinely interested in making every guest happy and nothing is too much trouble. The Reserve gives you a separate priority check-in, adult only pool, choice of à la carte breakfast and a spacious lounge where you can help yourself to drinks and snacks all day. The hotel and grounds are immaculate and our premium room was spacious with a super-comfortable bed, marshmallow pillows, walk-in rain shower, bath and lovely toiletries! Every meal was delicious with lots of choice throughout our stay. Peseta is still a highlight and definitely worth booking. Thank you to Jorge, Daniel, Victoria, Cynthia, Javier, Sara and all the other staff for making our second stay so special. Hopefully we will be back soon!

Our second visit to Paradisus did not disappoint! The hotel is still immaculate and the service is still amazing. The staff can't do enough to make your stay special and memorable. Javier in Ginger, Victoria, Daniel, Rita, Cynthia from the destination team, Sara at The Shack, Jorge the Resident Manager and many many more superb staff whose names we didn't manage to remember. They are always so happy and willing to please, nothing is too much trouble. We had a Reserve Suite on the 7th floor with amazing resort and sea views. The room was spacious with a large balcony, sofa, table and chairs, extremely large comfortable bed and a large bathroom with a soaking tub and shower. Housekeeping did a fantastic job of keeping the room clean and everything fully stocked on a daily basis. There are several restaurants and food concepts available both during the day and throughout the evening. The food we had was always served quickly and the quality was very good. Peseta is a Michelin starred food experience not to be missed. We recommend booking the restaurants in the evening to avoid disappointment. Overall, another amazing experience that we can't fault and we will most definitely be returning.

Fabulous suite in the Reserve ( adults only section) Truly 5* The Reserve also has a large lounge with a well stocked self service premium bar and food station which was excellent The Bali beds by the private pool area were particularly luxurious All the restaurants were above expectations in quality and this includes the buffet style Gastro Hall which served the best buffet food we have ever experienced in an all inclusive resort But the true quality comes from the staff who were exceptional: everyone was attentive, helpful and genuine in their wish to make our stay special. In particular Niccolo ( restaurant) and Jonny ( poolside) typified the “nothing is too much trouble” friendly, forever smiling attitude

This was our first stay at the hotel and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. We will be back again! The rooms are modern and immaculately clean. We didn’t have an ocean facing room but it didn’t bother us as we don’t typically spend a lot of time sitting on the balcony. The breakfast buffet and evening buffet are really impressive. There are a huge range of options to choose from including fresh to order meat and fish. Our favourite restaurant was Kanna we ate here most lunch times and would 100% recommend it. We also enjoyed the food at Pesata, the pool bar and Ginger. The only disappointment was the food at the Italian restaurant, we visited twice and both times wished we hadn’t. The hotel has a relatively small gym, but it has everything you need to get a workout in including cardio equipment and dumbbells. It gets a little busy first things as you might expect. We’d also recommend using the Spa! We really enjoyed the live evening entertainment the Argentinian band and the Star Gazing were our favourites. Finally, the staff are truly wonderful and really made our stay special. Rita, Victor, Alex, Jamie and Brendan create a very welcoming atmosphere and can’t do enough to assist you. Thank you for a brilliant stay.

Overall, an excellent week at the Paradisus in Gran Canaria. We had a Premium sea view room on the 4th Floor (the hotel has 7 floors) overlooking the exercise bikes used for the cycling activity. The room was quiet and comfortable. The hotel opened in March 2023 and the room design includes many plain white painted walls, which are already showing marks, together with scratches on the wooden surfaces and some black mould in the corners of the shower. The edges of the floor area below the sink were also dirty (difficult to access for cleaning). To maintain the new look and feel of the rooms, Melia needs to perform routine inspection and maintenance, in addition to the daily cleaning. In general the food and drink were good. The main restaurant (Gastro Hall) offers two cooked to order stations, for stir-fried and for grilled food. You select the ingredients and a chef prepares the food. This requires a waiting time which we experienced could be about 10 minutes, depending upon how busy the restaurant is. There were 3 occassions where, when we returned to our table after getting food, we found that it had been cleared and we had to find a new table. We also ate at the Italian restaurant (Mas Calzone) for lunch and dinner, which was good, although the cooking of the pizzas was inconsistent. Sometimes over cooked and some times under cooked! Clearly the pizza cooking needs training and constant attention! We ate at Kanna for dinner and the service was good, until we waited too long for desert and gave up! Lunch at Kanna produced different food to the food we had ordered. A basic mistake which was frustrating. The highlight was Peseta, where the food, although limited in choice, was excellent. Peseta provides an adults only more intimate setting. The lunch food at Ginger and The Shack was okay, but not of a particularly high standard, compared to the other restaurants. There was live music at breakfast and in the evening, all of which was excellent. We also enjoyed the included "experiences". The Canarian Museum in Las Palmas (take bus 30 from the main road across from the hotel which is the Clinica Roca stop - should be every 20 minutes but if the bus is already full, it doesn't stop!). The museum is full of rocks, pots and bones (including mummies) from pre-historic cave dwelling imigrants from North Africa. The Cathedral (small charge for entry) which includes ascending the tower to admire the view, is also worth a visit. The hiking tour with "Wandering Pier", who speaks excellent English, to the Roque Nublo was excellent. The walking is relatively easy although strong non-slip shoes are required! The scenery is stunning!! The trips to the Coffee and Wine producer and to the rum distillery were also both excellent. Each includes generous tasting opportunities which, are well worth experiencing. Overall, I recommend a stay at the Paradisus Gran Canaria.

The name of the hotel describes the holiday, Everything was provided for. Very friendly helpful and plentiful staff. Great choice of food at multiple restaurants with a variety of cuisines, all high quality. The entertainment was superb, be it harpists at breakfast virtuoso soloists on the Seaview bar at sunset or dance or folk bands in the evening. The infinity pool was spacious with a great view over the Ocean. There were always sunloungers available in a range of locations, with full or partial shade options as well as full sun. And if you are worried about over consuming there is a great range of free fitness classes which are organised by a real fun team. The Yoga and Pilates was exceptional, and as a result my wife and I returned with much improved posture. If you like a stroll the hotel has direct access to the sandy beach across a pedestrian promenade and you can walk for miles along the promenade and beach to reach the impressive sand dunes of Maspalamos. This all inclusive holiday is not cheap but is worth every penny. It was the most relaxing holiday I have experienced. To keep your costs down, there are 2 express airport buses an hour costing just 4 euros which drop you 100 metres from the hotel entrance. One last tip. Our package included a free gourmet meal at the onsite Michelin star restaurant. Another great experience. Book it on your arrival to get the best choice of times. Overall a highly recommended experience, and although this is a personal recommendation, all the very friendly guests we spoke with, felt the same

I’ll start with a positive. The hotel and decor is beautiful and clean. However I would not class this as a 5 star hotel/resort. At check in we were told our room was the most basic room they have and overlooks the street as opposed to the ‘mountain view’ as advertised. We were told it’s very small and we could upgrade to a bigger room with a sea view for approx £800 for the week which also gets you access to adult only areas - utterly pointless with a baby. We booked as a family (2 adults and 1 infant). On arrival (8.45pm) our room was set out as twin beds and the cot was shoved down the side of one of the beds so you couldn’t actually get into the bed or use the phone. I went back to reception to say we would need a double as sometimes our little one sleeps with us. He said he had already sent someone to change the bed into a double for us - surely this should have been done prior to our arrival. We had to rearrange the room so we could move the cot the other side of the bed which rendered the balcony unusable as the door was blocked. The room also didn’t have a bath- not practical for a family with a baby under 1. Families should not be given these rooms. The WiFi in the room did not work. Rooms not very soundproofed Same lunch and dinner menu in one of the a la carte restaurants. Only 2 real restaurants as one is for adults only and others are a pool snack bar and one serves raw fish only and one is a sport bar. No drinks service round the pool areas. Wasn’t offered coffee at breakfast. Had to find own high chair at breakfast or when in the main eating area Had to asked for mini bar to be restocked €10 charge for room service
