Hotel is about a 15-20 min walk to town center. Most of it is a nice walk if road and sidewalk construction is not present. Our room had a beautiful lake view but since we were just above the indoor pool and restaurant, its roof was right below our window blocking some of our view. One window opens which can be helpful since there is no air conditioning but it can remain hot in the room since there is not any air flow. My biggest complaint is the shower. There was some sort of retrofit or adjustment that resulted in it being extremely small. Comfortable room size and comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was fine. We di not eat lunch or dinner there. There is a room safe and there was complimentary bottled water.

This hotel is not 5 stars, not 4 stars, 3.5 stars at best! The list of shocking things is far too long for one review but a few highlights: - The hotel pool doesn’t open until 11am (apparently because of the “cleaning schedule”” and the staff not being able to start earlier) - Half of the treadmills / bikes in the gym don’t work - Make sure your clothes don’t require any ironing because they won’t give you an iron, the only option is to pay for laundry service - Carpets in the stairwells need a heavy vacuum - No coffee available in the room, not even instant - The breakfast room (also the “gourmet” restaurant in the evening) is very tired - needs a fresh coat of paint and a decor uplift. The evening ambiance for dinner was so strange we actually left and went to a local restaurant up the road (would highly recommend L’Italiano Trattoria - great food, extensive well priced wine list and the nicest staff!) The views however are fabulous, the hotel is well located to the town and the rooms are decently sized. The hotel either needs to do a material uplift or re-title themselves as 3 stars (and price accordingly).

Booked a queen room via an agency. Given an accessible twin room. Told they can swop the beds to a queen as the door is extra wide for access but if we want a non accessible room it has to be a twin. So tip is to check your room before you arrive or book direct! Another tip - water is chargeable so suggest bring your own.

I believe I was charged the VAT tax and I should not have been because I am not a citizen of Argentina and I paid with a foreign credit card. When I went to check out with Facudo Lopez, he said I had charged a cappuccino and breakfast to my room. I explained I did not have a cappuccino or breakfast. He shrugged his shoulders then removed a receipt from a piece of paper. I thought this was odd and asked to see the receipt. The receipt had my last name hand written on it but the signature was nowhere near mine. No one walking off the street and no hotel guest would know my last name and room number but Facudo Lopez would know that information. I believe Facudo Lopez was trying to charge me the expense and pocket the money for himself. Facudo Lopez proceeded to ask me questions about my travels for several more minutes, which I thought was odd. After leaving the hotel I realized I was never given a closing statement for my stay. I returned later that day and asked Facudo Lopez for a closing statement. He refused to provide me with a closing statement, I then asked to speak to a manager and Facudo Lopez said he was the manager. I returned to the hotel at around 8pm and talked to a different man at the front desk. I asked for a print out of my closing statement and he said no problem. He then typed at his computer and looked at the computer screen for a minute, he then looked around his desk, then got up and left his desk without saying a word. A few minutes later he returned to his desk and helped two customers that were standing behind me in line. After finishing helping those customers he turns to me and says he can not print out the closing statement for me. I ask him if I can look at his computer screen and he says I am not allowed to look at his computer screen. I then ask to speak to a manager and he says he is the manager. The following two days a called the hotel and asked to speak to the hotel manager. The person who answered the phone said his name was Luciano and refused to provide me with his last name, he refused to let me talk to the hotel manager and he refused to give me the name of the hotel manager on the two different days that I called the hotel. I stayed at Alma Del Lago on the nights of Feb 26 and 27 and was in room 1010. I believe I was overcharged and the front desk staff has pocketed the extra funds which is why they are refusing to give me a closing statement and refusing to let me talk to the hotel manager. Because several of the front desk staff have prevented me from talking to the hotel manager, I believe the front desk is full of crooks and scam artists who are stealing from unsuspecting hotel guests. I do not recommend staying at the Alma Del Lago Suites & Spa.

Staff are very nice but this hotel needs work. The rooms are set up with the bare minimum. A couple of times I had to ask for toilet paper and towels. Hotel was very nice views but decor needs upgrade. WiFi is very patchy

I am not happy about the tremendous noise!!! My room was in front of the elevator, next to the lobby. I couldn’t close my eyes at night from loudness!!!

The bedroom had the most amazing views over the lake and room was nice and spacious . We stayed here3 nights and the ambience from most staff members at his hotel is not welcoming ,you walk past reception and smile, nod to the staff and they look right through you. We asked a couple of questions on different days at reception and again they were miserable. The same went for the breakfast waiters, I would say thank you and would get a grunt back , no smiles ….most of the staff are miserable . I must however say the young lady on the spa reception and also Facundo on the main reception were cheerful . We tried to get in drink in the bar one evening , it wasn’t busy but having waited 15 minutes we gave up. To be honest I have been to many hotels and never met such unwelcoming staff, shame as the hotel has one of the best views over the lake.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights. It was a completely fine experience. We booked a lake-view suite with a king bed. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. It is also in a good location, near the city center and an easy drive to hiking. For the rest: although we booked a lake-view suite, since we had a ground-level suite, the view was mediocre at best. Our view was the "gym" and a tree. Unlike the other ground-level suites, we didn't get a deck. As we didn't spend much time in our room, it wasn't a priority to request a change. TIP: For those who book a lake-view room, you should request one on a higher level if you want a view. The first night we were there, the room was stuffy. We couldn't turn on the AC. It cooled down for the rest of the time we were there, so we didn't need to figure that out, but it could pose a problem for those who are there in warmer months. Housekeeping is clearly not a priority for this hotel. The beds were made in a half-hearted fashion and the fridge wasn't tallied and restocked everyday. The biggest issue was that it also wasn't restocked between guests, so we were initially charged for a previous guests' drinks. They did keep the halls very clean. The free breakfast was fine. The view was amazing. The pool's view is also amazing. The pool water was the hottest water I've ever experienced in a pool. The gym is basically two treadmills, an elliptical and very light dumbbells. There is also no AC in the gym. Only those who are truly desperate should attempt a workout. We were weathered in on one of the days so we spent part of suffocating in the gym and then at the bar. Everyone there was very nice and accommodating. When we checked out, we initially also got charged with someone else's drink (who charged it to our room); the hotel removed it, but you may want to ask for a tally of charges to your room. Alma has a beautiful view, the location is great and the people are very nice. Other than that, maybe check out another hotel. We saw other hotels being built nearby, so those could be ready for your trip.
